Physician for Women's Health (PWH), a proud affiliate of Women's Health Connecticut, is comprised of Physicians who demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide obstetrical and gynecological care, appropriate to the age of the patients served.

Comprehensive Gynecology of CT, of Physicians for Women's Health, located in Hamden, CT, is seeking a full-time Physician to support our OB/GYN practice. Current MD staffing within the practice includes three MD's/Physicians, two Certified Nurse Midwifes, and one APRN. All Full-time, Physicians take call, which is split equally. The practice is affiliated with Yale New Haven Hospital.

Candidates must have the ability to diagnose patient conditions and provide appropriate treatment recommendations. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of fetal growth and development and have the ability to identify and categorize each patient's age specific grouping of needs.

Position Highlights:
• Perform comprehensive physical examination, and compile patient medical data including health history and results of physical examination.
• Orders or performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, and basic wound care.
• Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.
• Develops and implements patient management plans, follows hospitalized patients as appropriate, records progress notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care.

As a member of the Diagnostic Imaging Department Team, assist in providing coordinated and compassionate care at every patient encounter at Yale Health. Responsibilities include perform specialized testing procedures appropriate to specialty (ultrasonography) in Diagnostic Imaging. Review patient's chart, patient's condition and physician's orders to plan and determine method of testing. Position patients. Set up, operate and maintain equipment to conduct tests and procedures. Provide information to patients concerning specific tests and procedures. Perform high level disinfection of u/s probes at the department level. Instruct and act as a source of information on testing techniques, procedures and equipment operation. Assist patients when necessary to dress/undress for exams, or in transfers to/from wheelchair, stretcher, exam tables, etc. Assist in Diagnostic Imaging/ultrasound exams as directed by the radiologist. Maintain strict patient confidentiality. Act as a liaison with repair personnel. Order and maintain inventory of supplies. Maintain disposable inventory per department protocol regarding date of use/disposal. Perform additional functions related to clinical as needed.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Certification as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
  • Demonstrated skill with ultrasound in a safe and reliable manner
  • Proficient in OB-GYN (Level 1), vascular and general
  • Proven ability as a medical ultra sonographer in a clinical setting such as a hospital or large medical practice
  • Demonstrated experience in an urgent care setting or fast paced medical environment
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to develop positive relationships with patients and co-workers
  • Excellent attendance, punctuality and reliability

Principal Responsibilities:

  1. Performs specialized testing procedures appropriate to specialty ultrasonography in radiology
  2. Reviews patient's chart, patient's condition and physician's orders to plan and determine method of testing
  3. Positions patients; Sets up, operates and maintains equipment to conduct tests and procedures. Provides information to patients concerning specific tests and procedures
  4. Processes films and duplicate films
  5. Instructs and acts as a source of information on testing techniques, procedures and equipment operation

  7. Assists management in upgrading equipment. Orders and maintains inventory of supplies. Maintains disposable inventory per department protocol regarding date of use/disposal

  10. May perform other duties as assigned

Required Education and Experience:

  • Six years of related experience; four of them in the same job family at the next lower level and a high school level education; or four years of related work experience and an Associate's Degree; or little or no work experience and a Bachelor's Degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of experience and education

Overview

Under the direction of the Program Director and in accordance with the purpose, policies, and principles of the YMCA of Central New Mexico, the Site Coordinator is responsible for the direct supervision of activities for children ages 5 to 12 years old. The incumbent will be responsible for meeting regulations as set by the Child Care Licensing & Certification Bureau of the State of New Mexico, staffing, curriculum development & implementation, and will oversee the day to day activities in the Afterschool/Summer Day Camp program. The incumbent will also serve as liaison between the YMCA and participants' parents in order to develop a positive relationship for both. The incumbent will be qualified to hold a site license and meet all state requirements for such license.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Program Director in the development & implementation of the daily program and curriculum.
  • Responsible for the day to day activities in the Summer Day Camp/Afterschool program including daily curriculum and staffing.
  • Ensure proper participation/staff ratios as per state minimum standards.
  • Assist in the planning and preparation of a creative learning environment, establishing centers of interest, and preparing needed materials and supplies.
  • Interact with children, treating them with respect and dignity at all times.
  • Maintains program site and equipment.
  • Maintains required program records.
  • Attends and participates in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and staff trainings.
  • Follow the chain of command as established by the Program Director, and assist accordingly.
  • Help with general housekeeping duties.
  • Maintain proper staff to child ratios at all the times and never leave children unattended.
  • Maintain a professional attitude in working with participants, parents, volunteers and co-workers.
Qualifications
  • At least 18 years of age (The minimum may be higher depending on state law).
  • Meets educational and experience qualifications established by state law (if the state sets requirements. The YMCA should establish minimum qualification standards if the state has no requirements).
  • Knowledge in the area of school age curriculum development, lesson planning, and age appropriate activities.
  • Be able to develop and implement curriculums to include Character Development.
  • CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date.
  • 3 years' experience working with children in a developmental setting.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.
  • Previous experience with diverse populations.
  • Must have 45 hour certificate or a minimum of an Associate's Degree in Child Development or related field.
  • Attend Higher Education Classes to keep knowledge current.

Position Purpose: Assist the Chief Medical Director to direct and coordinate the medical management, quality improvement and credentialing functions for the business unit. This position is REMOTE!

  • Provides medical leadership of all for utilization management, cost containment, and medical quality improvement activities.
  • Performs medical review activities pertaining to utilization review, quality assurance, and medical review of complex, controversial, or experimental medical services, ensuring timely and quality decision making.
  • Supports effective implementation of performance improvement initiatives for capitated providers.
  • Assists Chief Medical Director in planning and establishing goals and policies to improve quality and cost-effectiveness of care and service for members
  • Provides medical expertise in the operation of approved quality improvement and utilization management programs in accordance with regulatory, state, corporate, and accreditation requirements.
  • Assists the Chief Medical Director in the functioning of the physician committees including committee structure, processes, and membership.
  • Conduct regular rounds to assess and coordinate care for high-risk patients, collaborating with care management teams to optimize outcomes.
  • Collaborates effectively with clinical teams, network providers, appeals team, medical and pharmacy consultants for reviewing complex cases and medical necessity appeals.
  • Participates in provider network development and new market expansion as appropriates
  • Assists in the development and implementation of physician education with respect to clinical issues and policies.
  • Identifies utilization review studies and evaluates adverse trends in utilization of medical services, unusual provider practice patterns, and adequacy of benefit/payment components.
  • Identifies clinical quality improvement studies to assist in reducing unwarranted variation in clinical practice in order to improve the quality and cost of care.
  • Interfaces with physicians and other providers in order to facilitate implementation of recommendations to providers that would improve utilization and health care quality.
  • Reviews claims involving complex, controversial, or unusual or new services in order to determine medical necessity and appropriate payment.
  • Develops alliances with the provider community through the development and implementation of the medical management programs.
  • As needed, may represent the business unit before various publics both locally and nationally on medical philosophy, policies, and related issues
  • Represents the business unit at appropriate state committees and other ad hoc committees.
  • May be required to work weekends and holidays in support of business operations, as needed.
  • Consult's on MCO clinical policy related to Substance Use Disorders and the cases of individual members for the MCM program on a routine basis.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards

Education/Experience: Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathy. Utilization Management experience and knowledge of quality accreditation standards preferred. Actively practices medicine. Course work in the areas of Health Administration, Health Financing, Insurance, and/or Personnel Management is advantageous. Experience treating or managing care for a culturally diverse population preferred.

License/Certifications: Board certification in a medical specialty recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialists or the American Osteopathic Associations Department of Certifying Board Services. Current Illinois state license as a MD or DO without restrictions, limitations, or sanctions from government programs.

For Illinois plan only: Must reside in Illinois. Must have a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in mental health, substance abuse, or children health services.

Pay Range: $221,300.00 - $20,500.00 per year

Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
