Youth Program Coordinator
Status: Full-time, Hourly, $21.63 per hour
Location: Miami, FL

*Ability to communicate in Spanish also is a must in this program due to location of schools.
Summary: Responsible for coordinating the YWCA's Youth Programs, including the After-School and Summer Camp Programs, under the direction and supervision of the Director of Youth Programs. Responsible for ensuring the completion and submission of all required activities, outcomes, and deliverables of the Youth Programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Assists the Director of Youth Programs in all functional aspects of maintaining smooth operations of the After School Program, inclusive of, but not limited to recommendations for hiring staff, managing personnel files, monitoring sites for compliance, as well as coordinating meetings and trainings as needed.
Monitors assigned After School Program sites to assure program guidelines are being adhered to.
Maintains assigned sites at appropriate staff levels in the after school programs. Supervises assigned After-School Program staff such as; site managers, site assistants, and activity leaders to assure that policies and procedures are being adhered to.
Assists staff in the development of weekly curriculum to ensure all After School Programs meet quality standards.
Serves as liaison to the school administration, principals and volunteers.
Assists the Youth Programs Director and/or Asst. Director in maintaining budget accuracy to assure proper staffing.
Assists the Youth Programs Director and/or Asst. Director to ensure labor cost is maintained, hours are adhered to, and expenses are controlled in accordance with fiscal goals of the YWCA.
Interviews and recommends new hire candidates. Trains new staff, motivates staff, manages conflicts, and provides feedback including performance reviews.
Assists site managers in maintaining personnel records at all assigned sites, as required by M-DCPS/TCT, including background screenings; waiver agreements, training and certification records, and emergency records to ensure that program remains in compliance with all applicable county and state regulations.
Maintains and processes all appropriate paperwork for all assigned sites on a timely basis including all personnel actions forms (PAF), for new hires, transfers, promotions, and separations after approval from the Youth Programs Director and/or Asst. Director prior to submitting to Human Resource Dept.
Prepares appropriate monthly PO's on a timely basis, ensures receipt of invoices and processes for payment, via supervisor signature.
Reports in writing (within 24 hrs) any communication and/or incidences that takes place with any school administrative staff and/or principal to the Youth Department Director and/or Asst. Director.
Investigates and reports incidents and/or accidents at assigned sites, follows after school policies and procedures with the assistance of the Director/Assistant Director of Youth Programs.
Mentors and trains the After School Program staff in assigned sites. Counsels employees regarding work proficiency, behavior problems, and procedural inconsistencies, with the assistance of the Director of Youth Programs.
Makes appropriate recommendations for employment status per the YWCA's and After School Program's policies and procedures.
Monitors inventory supplies at assigned After School Program sites.
Acts as mediator in instances of arising conflicts between After School Program staff.
Coordinates in-service training to remain compliant with M-DCPS/TCT requirements.
Supervises Site Managers to assure proper compliance of the After School Programs.
Collects data from assigned sites to ensure program efficiency and proper programming methodology.
Coordinates multi-site staff meetings.
Updates appropriate staff of requirements to assure compliance.
Monitors program enhancement activities.
Reviews site staff/participant files.
Serves as a facilitator and/or negotiator as needed.
Travels to various sites for monitoring and program enhancements.
Performs other duties as assigned. Hours may vary to accommodate parents or program needs.
Requirements
Qualifications:

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) from an accredited college/university in Social Work, Human Services, Public Administration, Education, Sociology, or related field of study and two (2) to four (4) years of related experience preferably in a related non-profit environment or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of case management and administrative support, with considerable knowledge of investigative techniques; Knowledge of community resources preferred. Case management experience with low income households preferred. Data entry and Data Management experience needed.
Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information. Ability to communicate in Spanish is a must in these programs.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervises several temporary staff, volunteers, ipartners and or contractors at any time during the program based on need. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees/volunteers or contractors; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees/volunteers or contractors; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

The MGB Program Coordinator for Youth Programs will support the design and delivery of the academic year and summer programming for high school students, with a focus on career readiness, college exploration, and social-emotional development. The coordinator will facilitate weekly programming for two high school cohorts and support summer employment experiences, playing a key role in cultivating students' exposure to healthcare careers and post-secondary pathways.
The Program Coordinator will develop and implement group workshops and one-on-one student sessions, support family engagement, and maintain relationships with schools, colleges, and community partners. Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Director of Youth Development, the Youth Program Coordinator is responsible for a variety of functions including communication, planning, marketing and evaluation of the After School, Summer Day Camp and other onsite programs at the offsite location. The Youth Program Coordinator supports participation and retention by the planning and execution of the After School, Summer Day Camp and other onsite programs to achieve strategic goals and provide outstanding customer service to all students and parents.
Essential Functions
- Provide direction, rules and supervision of the program activities within the After School, Summer Day Camp and other onsite programs.
- Planning and implementation of the daily activities that fit the student's needs and interests to build healthy lifestyles.
- Support the retention of YMCA members through excellent quality programming and maintaining the requirements of average daily attendance. Work toward positive parent/staff relations to ensure satisfaction with programming.
- Participate in parent committees for quality programming, such as character development, arts and crafts, sports, summer camp, workshops etc.
- Provide a safe and healthy environment, both physically and mentally, by keeping within mandated ratios to ensure the operation of a quality program.
- Collect and process participants' program payments in a timely manner. Complete all paperwork with accuracy and within deadlines.
- Ensure proper procedures are followed for sign-in/out of students on a daily basis.
- Conduct regular staff meetings to ensure timely and accurate communication. Attend all staff meetings and YMCA trainings as required.
- Actively marketing the After School, Summer Day Camp and other onsite programs by utilizing available marketing tools to increase participation goals. Utilize available technology, reporting tools and data that enhance program participation and retention.
- Report all accidents/incidents to the Supervisor, and follow risk procedures as outlined in YMCA policy. Report all suspicions of child abuse to proper contacts as outlined in YMCA policy.
- Remain up to date on emergency procedures and certifications.
- Prepare monthly newsletters, calendars and schedules. Participate in special events and fundraising projects.

Education, Training and Experience
- AA/AS degree or equivalent in related field required; BS degree preferred.
- 1-3 years' experience in formal child care curriculum and programming, school age experience.
- 1-3 years of supervisory experience preferred.
- Child Care certification a plus.
- Microsoft Office proficiency required.
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required
- May be required to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. in various forms.
- May be required to sit, stand or maintain physical activity for extended periods of time.
- Must exhibit patience and understanding.
- Must be able to receive and follow detailed instructions.

The Salvation Army in Henderson Nevada is looking to fill a Youth Worker Position. The successful candidate for this position will have previous experience working with children in a Corps/Church setting, be capable of making independent judgement and a demonstrated ability to relate and work with young persons with a diverse background.
The Youth Worker will lead and assist the Corps Officers with youth programs including Sunday School classes, Sunday Morning Worship services, fellowship times, visitation, bible studies, outreach, young adults ministries, After School during the week and Summer Day Camp. This person will coordinate and drive for Youth programs and events, prepare and cook meals and snacks and coordinate attendance with parents and all aspects of programs with Schools.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Two years experience working with children in a Corps/Church setting and/or a two years college degree in Youth Ministries or Christian Education.
- Must be a Christian with a strong personal commitment to Christ, a person of high integrity professed Christian beliefs and lifestyle, and feel comfortable discussing Christianity with children and adults.
- Experience with Salvation Army Christmas programs and a working knowledge of Salvation Army Policies and Procedures is preferred.
- Must be capable of making independent judgments with the approval of, but independent of constant supervision from the Corps Officer(s), including, but not limited to, managing staff and volunteers, scheduling employee and volunteer hours, etc.
- Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office.
- Must be able to operate office equipment such as FAX machines, copy machines, printers, laminating machines, etc.
- Must be well organized and able to maintain files and materials.
- Must always positively represent The Salvation Army in personal conduct and appearance.
- A demonstrated ability to relate to and work with young persons from diverse backgrounds and communicate effectively with parents, volunteers, and other professionals such as school Principals, schoolteachers, etc.
- Must possess a valid food handler's permit
- Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to meet all requirements to drive a Salvation Army Vehicle.
- Must receive training and certification for The Salvation Army Protect the Mission and Child Safety policies and ensure compliance in all programs and facilities.
- Required to pass a criminal background check.

- Assist the Executive Director in the day-to-day operations of JDA programs, camps, and clinics.
- Coordinate registration, scheduling, and communication with parents, athletes, and community partners.
- Support program delivery from setting up equipment to helping facilitate drills and activities.
- Track athlete progress and program outcomes for reporting and improvement.
- Assist with volunteer onboarding and coordination.
- Represent JDA at community outreach events and fundraisers.
- Provide photos, updates, and program highlights for JDAs social media and newsletters.
Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelors degree in Sports Management, Education, Recreation, Kinesiology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience working with youth (sports, education, recreation, or mentoring).
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Comfort working evenings and weekends for programs and events.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
