Essential Functions:

The Child Life Specialist essential functions:

• Assesses patients to identify the psychosocial, financial and environmental needs of patients as evidenced by documentation, clinical records, case conferences, team report, call-in logs, and on-sit e evaluation.
• Makes the initial Child Life Specialist evaluation visit and re-evaluates the patient’s Child Life Specialist needs during each following visit.
• Communicates significant findings, problems, and changes in condition or environment to the Supervisor, the physician and/or other personnel involved with patient care.

• Reports unsafe conditions and the outcome of each visit to the appropriate Supervisor as appropriate by the end of the day.

• Implements the plan for patient safety, using the patient, family, and community resources.

• Participates in implementation and developmentof the Plan of Care to ensure quality and continuity of care and proper discharge planning.
• Verifies the Plan of Care prior to each visit and provides care according to physician’s orders, assessment data, and established standards and guidelines.
• Initiates and revises the Plan of Care in response to identified patient care issues.
• Writes physician orders to cover additional visits and changes to the plan of care, per agency policy.
• Incorporates patient care goals established in the plan of care, as evidenced by documentation in clinical note.
• Performs appropriate skilled services/interventions in accordance with accepted standards of practice and certified by the patient’s physician.
• Counsels and instructs and includes the patient and family in following the Plan of Care and meeting Child Life Specialist and related needs.
• Assures the continuity of quality patientcare delivered.
• Maintains communication with clinical staff providing updates and changes in schedules, patient data or needs, physician orders or special instructions.
• Participates in patient care conferences offering clinical suggestions.
• Assures clinical notes indicate continuing communication and coordination of services with physician, other staff and disciplines.

Qualifications:

• EDUCATION : Bachelors degree in relevant field and CCLS certification from the Child Life Council.
• LICENSURE : Current CCLS certification
• EXPERIENCE : 2 year Child Life Specialist experience in a healthcare setting.
• REQUIRED: Reliable transportation. Ability to sit, stand, bend, move intermittently and lift at least 25 lbs and bear the weight of an average adult effectively

Chaplains offer everything from faith leadership to personal advice to much-needed solace—all while living up to the guiding principles of the Chaplain Mission: - Providing religious ministry and support to those of your own faith - Facilitating the religious requirements of those from all faiths - Caring for all servicemembers and their families, including those subscribing to no specific faith - Advising the command in ensuring the free exercise of religion RESPONSIBILITIES As a Navy Chaplain, your job spans a broad range of duties. You will support fellow servicemembers during their most joyful moments and during their most difficult. Your responsibilities might include: - Conducting worship services in a variety of settings - Performing religious rites and ceremonies such as weddings, funeral services, and baptisms - Counseling individuals who seek guidance - Overseeing religious education programs, such as Sunday school and youth groups - Visiting and providing spiritual guidance and care to hospitalized personnel and/or their family members - Training lay leaders who conduct religious education programs - Promoting attendance at religious services, retreats, and conferences - Advising leaders at all levels regarding morale, ethics, and spiritual well-being WORK ENVIRONMENT Navy Chaplains immerse themselves in the daily lives of servicemembers. TRAINING & ADVANCEMENT Those pursuing a Chaplain position are required to attend Officer Development School (ODS) in Newport, RI. Upon completion, they attend a seven-week course at the Naval Chaplaincy School and Center, also in Newport, RI. Promotion opportunities are regularly available but competitive and based on performance.
