Duties & Responsibilities

Assists in developing policies, objectives and standards of nursing service and education.
Assists in the preparation of personnel, supply and equipment budgets.
Assists in the development of administrative procedure and programs of patient care
May have responsibility for planning, organizing, directing, coordinating and evaluating the nursing service in a major clinical division, or a home health agency in a hospital, participating in selection, placement and follow up of patients transferred to homes
Assists with the planning , organization and conduct of a nursing education program.
May assume responsibility for planning, directing, coordinating and evaluating nursing service on the evening and night tours.
Directs activities of Supervisor of Nurses
Prepares and makes periodic and daily reports on administrative matters relating to staff and patient management.
participates in the direction and implementation of a quality assurance program for nursing.
Attends and chairs regular staff meetings with nursing personnel.
Assesses nursing services by making rounds, conducting chart review and evaluating patient care.

Minimum Qualifications
1. Licensed and currently registered to practice as a professional nurse in New York State, plus (2) or (3), below.
2. Masters Degree in Nursing Administration, Education, Clinical Specialty or equivalent field and five years of satisfactory nursing experience, of which three years shall have been in a supervisory or teaching capacity; or a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing and six years of satisfactory nursing experience, four years of which shall have been in a supervisory or teaching capacity.
3. A satisfactory equivalent of education and experience. However, all candidates must be licensed and currently registered to practice as a Professional Nurse in New York State.

Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Director for International Student Services, the Assistant Director for International Student Services leads the ISSO's Call Center team, and serves as communication liaison to other ISSO teams. The Assistant Director meets regularly with the Director for International Student Services and with the student advising team to discuss F-1 and J-1 student immigration and processing concerns; oversees immigration advising and processing to ensure the University's compliance with federal regulations. Collaborates with the Director to oversee the ISSO Call Center. The Assistant Director acts as Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) to produce Certificates of Eligibility forms I-20 or DS-2019; evaluates applications for benefits and approves or denies requests for immigration transactions. Advises students on their rights and responsibilities under the immigration laws of the United States and conducts informational workshops on immigration-related topics.

Responsibilities
  • Act as Designated School Official (DSO) and as Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) in issuing appropriate immigration documents for international students.
  • Take action in SEVIS for immigration transactions as needed.
  • Advise international students on immigration matters related to their stay at Columbia University including but not limited to employment authorization, extension of stay, travel and return to the U.S., opportunities, rights and responsibilities under immigration regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Knowledge of F-1 and J-1 student immigration regulations, and SEVIS; ability to communicate effectively with people from different cultural backgrounds; excellent organizational, interpersonal, and written and oral communication skills. U.S. government regulations require Designated School Officials and Alternate Responsible Officers be U.S. citizens or Legal Permanent Residents.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in cross-cultural communication, counseling, area or cultural studies, foreign language, international education, or TESOL.

**Job Summary**
The Negotiator - Assistant Director has the experience and skill to run an holistic negotiation strategy supporting a collaborative model with the EY deal team and clients to achieve a value-based outcome. The role is primarily responsible for working on strategic deals for EY and must have a high level of business acumen, leadership skills and emotional intelligence" on the deal.

**Responsibilities:**
GENERAL PURPOSE

+ Responsible for managing University's 2.0 billion long term debt portfolio, includes debt repayment process including monthly posting of entries and reconciliation of debt accounts.Oversight of internal debt repayment portal via Kyriba and negotiates repayment plans with the appropriate division finance officers and budget office.Manages reporting and analyses, setting forth progress, adverse trends, and appropriate recommendations or conclusions to support research results.Assist with University long-term debt issuance and oversight for related data analytics of data received from investment bankers and others. Provides strategic direction for debt planning and decision making to University senior leadership.
+ Responsible for University's internal/central bank through policy and framework development, create models for internal debt repayment and what if scenarios building cash within the interna/central bank. Lead and direct internal/central bank policy and associated actions necessary for payment of long-term debt in the future. 3.Promotes the health system service standards and creates a patient focused caring environment while assuring that the individual needs of the patient are met.
4.Fosters an environment of collaboration and respect with physician colleagues, nurses and other healthcare team members.
5.Develops, implements, directs, and evaluates nursing care staff and/or programs. Counsels, directs, and instructs nursing staff in clinical and management concerns.
6.Employs learning organization principles and techniques in all aspects of unit leadership.
7.Monitors the personnel, supply and equipment considerations in collaboration with the staff and support department directors.
8.Monitors unit operational performance metrics inclusive of LOS, agency and overtime costs, vacancy and turnover rates.
9.Assesses unit activity, patient activity and personnel resources in order to ensure equitable and appropriate staffing.
10.Participates in activities to correct deficiencies in patient care services.
11.Role model standards of professional practice (clinical, educational and leadership) for colleagues and external customers.
12.Promotes a 'just culture' environment where staff feel safe to admit mistakes, report problems, and take ownership and accountability of their actions.
13.Collaborates and communicates with internal colleagues and leadership to improve quality patient centered care.
14.Implements and reinforces action plans and goals that support staff inclusion, empowerment and development.
15.Maintain a broad understanding of the regulatory environment in order to support compliance with requirements.

Job Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, required.
Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State required,
plus specialized certifications, as needed.
7+ years of technical experience, required.
2+ years of leadership/management experience, required.

The salary range for this position is $105,000-$170,000/year
