The individual will be responsible for supporting the ITCON Offices IT infrastructure which is based both in our data center as well as in the Microsoft 365 and Azure Cloud. We need an experienced and technically skilled Systems Administrator/Cloud engineer who understands the fundamentals of how CISCO Meraki and Ubiquiti routers, hubs and switches operate. Fundamental understanding of installation, configuration and trouble shooting of laptops like Microsoft Surface Pros and Apple Mac books is needed. The candidate should have experience with Microsoft O365 administration of exchange and user administration. Should also have experience with Microsoft Azure Active Directory and Virtual Machine installation, configuration and trouble shooting.

The candidate should have a flexible and accommodating working style, be excited about technology and take an initiative, and be willing and able to troubleshoot system issues while learning new tools and technologies as they relate to Windows and Linux-based systems.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Maintain essential Microsoft O365 and Azure based IT operations, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, routers, switches, hubs, MS Exchange email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware

  • Establish and Maintain strong vendor relationships for procurement of ITCON IT hardware and software tools.

The Cloud Architect will collaborate closely with multiple technical and business teams-including infrastructure, enterprise systems, cybersecurity, and records/governance-to ensure that the firm's cloud environment meets regulatory and industry best practices.

In this capacity, the Azure Cloud Architect will:

  • Cloud Architecture & Strategy
    • Develop automation scripts for repeatable deployments;
    • Define tagging, cost controls, policy enforcement, and identity/access management (IAM) strategies;
  • Collaboration & Support
    • Partner with application owners, IT infrastructure, and security teams to ensure smooth migration and ongoing operations of workloads in Azure;
    • Support investigations, incident response, and security audits involving cloud assets;
  • Innovation & Optimization
    • Continuously evaluate new Azure services, automation capabilities, and tools to enhance productivity and reduce risk;
    • Guide optimization of cost, performance, and operational efficiency across the Azure estate;
  • Security & Compliance
    • Implement and govern security best practices including Azure Policy, Azure Key Vault, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), and Azure Security Center;
    • Collaborate with Information Security to enforce encryption (at rest/in transit), DLP, Conditional Access, and Zero Trust principles; and
    • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks, such as ISO 27001.
Proficiencies:
  • Expert proficiency in deployment and optimization of Azure services including networking (VNet, NSG, Azure Firewall, Express Route), identity (Entra ID), compute (VMs, AVD), and storage (Blob, Files, Disk);
  • Expert proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), scripting (PowerShell), and DevOps pipelines;
  • Familiarity with secure collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Purview, Intune, Conditional Access); and
  • Proven experience in regulated or security-sensitive environments.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Advanced degree (preferred);
  • 7+ years of IT infrastructure or cloud experience, with 4+ years focused on Azure cloud architecture; and
  • Relevant certifications, such as:
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer; and
    • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent.
