NC FAST requires two Batch Operations Technicians to support daily batch operations requirements for NC FAST Operations and Maintenance.The NC Department of Health and Human Services requires the services of a Batch Operations Technician to support the day-to-day batch operation tasks and deliverables within enterprise batch processing of the NC FAST system’s batch architecture. This position primarily works outside of standard business hours to support overnight batch operations and will be scheduled for significant overnight work.This position will provide production operations support by performing and monitoring batch execution, verifying results, and participating and supporting all nightly production operations environments that consist of multiple servers, batch mode processing and execution of client specific production cycles. This role performs first level analysis of all data interface processing exceptions, logs, and escalates unresolved specific issues and problems for resolution following defined on call support paths.Resolve errors and escalates items as necessary by working with functional teams to drive timely analysis and solutions to meet the Application’s service level objectives. This position also helps the batch monitoring team to support the batch operations of assigned applications by analyzing production workflows, making recommendations to improve job schedule performance, providing rapid support during outages, and providing workload automation forecasts. GENERAL PURPOSE

An Operations Technician is part of our pay-for-skills program and allows individuals to continue building their capabilities, providing opportunities to increase their compensation.

This specific role focuses on foam gluing operations and requires strong attention to detail, consistency in applying adhesives, and maintaining equipment and workstations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Assembles product components, including gluing foam using a spray gun and pneumatic equipment, with precision and consistency.

Ensures materials are applied uniformly and positioned correctly (e.g., left/right, front/back), meeting visual and functional quality standards.

Communicates effectively.

Maintains a clean and organized workstation and ensures tools and equipment are cleaned and in proper working condition.

Performs other duties as directed by the supervisor to support production goals and business objectives.

Adheres to all safety and quality guidelines and promotes a culture of continuous improvement.

Education/Experience

One of the following is required: (1) High school diploma or its equivalent (GED for example), (2) work experience which demonstrates performance competency

Under the direction of the Operational Coach (Manager), this senior position operates and assists coaches with managing automatic solid-dose packaging equipment as part of an empowered work team. Routinely performs and lead line-specific duties including line check-in, in-process quality monitoring, equipment operation, work center cleaning and change-over and material movement with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency in accordance with established procedures
**Senior Operator Responsibilities:** Carry out our mission by assuring finished goods and services are of the highest quality, optimal cost, and delivered on schedule. Function as a role model in our team-based Employee Involvement culture, focusing on continuous improvement of Wilson Operations. Operate and assist in troubleshooting and problem resolution for processes and packaging equipment. Assist coaches and operators with operational, mechanical, and technical activities that support our production standards while following GMPs and SOPs. Perform and train others in cleaning and inspection of equipment between production batches. A team leader and trainer in the set up and adjust of production equipment, including tablet fillers, thermoformers, cappers, labelers, checkweighers, cartoners, case packers, and palletizers, and other assemblies as appropriate, as needed for optimal performance within qualified parameters. Examine products to detect defects. Product damage, or other visual quality problems. Assist coaches with managing the accuracy of critical information, and ensure the completion of required documentation for production processes are in order for optimal line performance. Identify, trouble-shoot, and offer resolution for equipment malfunctions and repair needs; communicate and manage appropriately with coach for timely resolution. Accurately manages areas to ensure the maintenance of detailed records as it relates to equipment cleaning, set-up, and challenge documentation. Assists coaches to ensure operational concerns are visible and solutions and/or continuous improvement actions are taken with an appropriate sense of urgency for appropriate resolution. Leads and contributes to the effectiveness of operations and implementation of viable continuous improvement initiatives. Leads the charge to ensure standard work areas are in a constant state of compliance with respect to proper housekeeping, material segregation, and personal gowning including required protective equipment. Demonstrates a strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot and effectively communicate within noted time constraints. Supports off-shifts and weekend work as required for this position.
**Quality:** Interacts with other departments -MMS and Quality to ensure all packaging operations are performed in accordance with current Goods Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), site Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Divisional policies and guidelines. Identifies, raises, and assist with management of quality issues. Troubleshoot and offer resolution and recommendation to coaches; appropriately gather and provide information for corrective actions. Works with coaches, Quality, Maintenance, and Planning to appropriately inform all parties of quality deviations; supports all investigations and corrective actions. Performs and train others on line clearance activities thoroughly to prevent cross-contamination of products.
**Safety:** Conforms to established safety procedures in accordance with OSHA and other regulatory agencies. Recognizes, utilize, and encourage others to use safety equipment when/as needed. Champion for and actively takes accountability for personal safety as well as the safety of others. **Equipment:** Operates and train others to use packaging equipment within qualified parameters; performs ad documents equipment challenges per procedures. Demonstrates mechanical ability to troubleshoot, problem solve, and train others to recognize and solve equipment concerns as it relates to product jams and component problems. Identifies and communicate effectively, equipment problems to assist the mechanics with corrective repairs.
**Financial:** Understand and communicates requirements for achieving packaging Profit Plan standards; assist coaches in communication of the production schedule to complete monthly orders. Contribute to achieving all departmental financial goals by understanding, communicating, and controlling labor tracking, component usage and material waste.
**Team/Individual Performance:** Actively assist coaches in leading a team-based culture through participation in team meetings and continuous improvement activities. Demonstrates a high degree of maturity, leadership, and personal integrity. Strictly adheres to all site policies on personal conduct and attendance. Assists the coach with coordination of daily work schedules and effectively communicate daily customer service and performance targets. Provides training to others, develops training documents and procedures to facilitate effective processes for new operators. Resolves and reports issues with product accountability and SAP system problems. Assists with troubleshooting equipment and process related occurrences across all of the packing lines. Provides guidance to others with documentation actions in the SAP PI sheets and paper records. Interacts with MMS (Materials Management Specialists) personnel to resolve component issues, including incoming quality concerns. Responsible for problem solving and process improvement initiatives. Assists with management and actions that come out the Tier 1 meetings and escalate issues to the Tier 2 process. Works with the coach to determine root cause for line downtime that causes misses for SA (Schedule Adherence) and delivery. Reviews Parsec data, resolve DEP's (Documentation Errors-Production), and make SOP changes as appropriate. Demonstrates a strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to trouble-shoot and communicate appropriately and effectively. Reviews completed process orders to ensure there are no DEQ's (Documentation Errors-Quality).
**Education Requirements:**
+ High School Diploma or equivalent
**Required Experience:**
+ Minimum of three (3) years' experience in FDA regulated industry.
+ Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Must possess the ability to work with others effectively, displaying strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
+ Experience in peer training activities required.
**Desirable:**
+ AAS degree or higher in Business, Science, or Technology.
+ Yellow Belt certified or Kata training.
+ Strong computer skills with experience using SAP.

The Role

The Operations Technician (Network Operation Center Environment) will work in a challenging, hands on environment supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and other specialized customers in support of National Cyber Protection System (NCPS) initiatives.

The Main Responsibilities

Directly interfaces with Government customers, vendors, subcontractors, and other company groups

• Produces Implementation Packages for OSP installations

• Follows SOWs, Method of Procedures (MOPs), test and acceptance plans using corporate standards, best commercial practices and customer site standards

• Designs, fabricates, modifies, and evaluates equipment and devices

• Design site cable paths and conveyances

• Assists with installations of developed solutions

• Provides assistance for ISP and OSP installation teams

• May oversee subcontractors, materials, tools and equipment to complete projects on schedule and within budget

• Communicate verbally with construction subcontractors regarding proper procedures for placement of outside cable plant. Provide interpretation of plans, detail sheets, and specification for subcontractors and inspectors.

• Make running line changes in accordance with (IAW) local regulations (e.g., city, county, state, railroads). Analyze Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) traces, evaluate characteristics of fiber, and document test results. Handle complex engineering assignments and interface with OSP installers, locators, project managers, inspectors, and permit authorities to complete comprehensive packages with sufficient detail to allow future use in maintenance and new construction activities.

• Understands and adheres to Federal, customer site and company policies and practices

• Must be proficient in optical fiber splicing, to include ribbon fiber

• Performs testing with OTDRs, Optical Powers Meters and other optical test equipment

• Updates network drawings using MS Visio and other software-based applications

• Works with engineers and installation technicians in the field during installations

• Must be able to obtain a DOT medical card

• Position requires extensive travel

The Role

The Operations Technician III - Federal is a highly skilled network operations professional responsible for circuit and equipment restoration, customer support, and proactive network monitoring. This role involves identifying and resolving customer-reported issues, performing advanced remote diagnostics, and escalating trouble to ensure timely resolution. Technicians utilize tools like SolarWinds and Web Helpdesk to monitor and isolate Layer 2/3 issues across IP, VPN, and MPLS networks, and maintain expertise in DS0/DS1/DS3 circuits, Ethernet, and private line services. They work across platforms including Cisco, Juniper, Meraki, FortiGate, and SDWAN, and apply advanced knowledge of IP routing, TCP/IP, DNS, and email troubleshooting. The technician collaborates with local exchange carriers and internal operations centers to restore services within SLA parameters, while keeping management and program offices informed of risks and impact assessments. With strong customer service skills and the ability to work independently in a 24x7 call center environment, the Operations Technician III demonstrates ownership, accountability, and leadership in resolving complex network issues and mentoring team members.

The Main Responsibilities

  • Perform circuit and equipment/network restoration, recognizing potential jeopardy conditions and ensuring timely resolution of customer-reported trouble.

  • Manage circuits ranging from T1 to 100Gb, including Ethernet, IP, long-haul, metro, and international optical networks; perform testing and activation of new network circuits.

  • Work closely with Federal government NOC customers to coordinate demand and scheduled maintenance in compliance with customer network management protocols.

  • Troubleshoot complex network issues involving power, hardware, routers, CSU/DSU, and carrier services, using advanced diagnostics across Layer 1, 2, and 3.

  • Analyze network troubles, assess performance data, and develop design optimization plans to improve service delivery and network efficiency.

  • Interface with fiber vendors, telecom providers, and internal teams to resolve complex technical issues and coordinate service restoration.

  • Participate as a Lead or Subject Matter Expert (SME) in customer meetings, procedural reviews, audits, and other technical engagements.

  • Review and interpret electric data processing (EDP) and as-built engineering documentation to support provisioning and restoration efforts.

  • Coordinate and track return material authorization (RMA) requests, including vendor interface and completion of RMA submittal forms.

  • Analyze, test, and repair Layer 2/3 network problems; ensure services conform to customer-mandated SLAs for latency, packet loss, jitter, and throughput using tools such as Iperf and Brix.

  • Monitor and isolate network issues using SolarWinds Orion and Web Help Desk; document advanced troubleshooting steps and resolution paths for knowledge sharing and operational continuity.

  • Execute complex translations and maintenance assignments on switching equipment, including VOIP systems, remote switches, MUXs, and Wireless Access Points.

  • Perform advanced Layer 1 troubleshooting for DS0, DS1, DS3, point-to-point, private line, and Ethernet circuits, with the ability to isolate and resolve physical layer faults.

  • Apply advanced knowledge of IP routing, TCP/IP, DNS, email systems, and MPLS to resolve high-impact network issues across Cisco, Juniper, SDWAN, and FortiGate platforms.

  • Demonstrate full ownership and accountability in assigned areas, proactively resolving issues and mentoring team members with minimal supervision.

  • Apply strong customer service skills in a 24x7 call center environment, with flexibility to work off-hours, on-call, and during holidays.

  • Maintain proficiency with internal tools and ticketing systems, and contribute to continuous improvement through coaching, documentation, and knowledge transfer.

  • Ability to identify and resolve customer reported trouble.

  • Takes full ownership and accountability in areas assigned. Takes independent action and rarely requires guidance, often proactively take the lead on technical issues/concerns.

What We Look For in a Candidate

Basic Qualifications:

  • Required - Cisco CCNA certifications or equivalent IT technology awareness. Candidate has demonstrated technical helpdesk experience.

  • 5 + year of technical customer call center experience.

  • Associate degree in Engineering, Electronics, Networks or related technical or vocational education or equivalent experience or 7+ years of related work experience.

  • Test knowledge/experience of DS0/DS1 circuits.

  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols, and IP addressing.

  • Experience with basic commands in Cisco, Juniper, Alcatel routers and or UNIX commands.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education/Years of Experience
  • Required: High School Diploma/GED and minimum three (3) years of demonstrated ability as an operations technician or similar role

Physical and Environment Work Requirements

Must be willing to:

  • Work in extreme temperatures, with loud noises and in enclosed spaces

**The Role**
The Operations Technician III - Federal is a highly skilled network operations professional responsible for circuit and equipment restoration, customer support, and proactive network monitoring. This role involves identifying and resolving customer-reported issues, performing advanced remote diagnostics, and escalating trouble to ensure timely resolution. Technicians utilize tools like SolarWinds and Web Helpdesk to monitor and isolate Layer 2/3 issues across IP, VPN, and MPLS networks, and maintain expertise in DS0/DS1/DS3 circuits, Ethernet, and private line services. They work across platforms including Cisco, Juniper, Meraki, FortiGate, and SDWAN, and apply advanced knowledge of IP routing, TCP/IP, DNS, and email troubleshooting. The technician collaborates with local exchange carriers and internal operations centers to restore services within SLA parameters, while keeping management and program offices informed of risks and impact assessments. With strong customer service skills and the ability to work independently in a 24x7 call center environment, the Operations Technician III demonstrates ownership, accountability, and leadership in resolving complex network issues and mentoring team members.
**The Main Responsibilities**
+ Perform circuit and equipment/network restoration, recognizing potential jeopardy conditions and ensuring timely resolution of customer-reported trouble.
+ Manage circuits ranging from T1 to 100Gb, including Ethernet, IP, long-haul, metro, and international optical networks; perform testing and activation of new network circuits.
+ Work closely with Federal government NOC customers to coordinate demand and scheduled maintenance in compliance with customer network management protocols.
+ Troubleshoot complex network issues involving power, hardware, routers, CSU/DSU, and carrier services, using advanced diagnostics across Layer 1, 2, and 3.
+ Analyze network troubles, assess performance data, and develop design optimization plans to improve service delivery and network efficiency.
+ Interface with fiber vendors, telecom providers, and internal teams to resolve complex technical issues and coordinate service restoration.
+ Participate as a Lead or Subject Matter Expert (SME) in customer meetings, procedural reviews, audits, and other technical engagements.
+ Review and interpret electric data processing (EDP) and as-built engineering documentation to support provisioning and restoration efforts.
+ Coordinate and track return material authorization (RMA) requests, including vendor interface and completion of RMA submittal forms.
+ Analyze, test, and repair Layer 2/3 network problems; ensure services conform to customer-mandated SLAs for latency, packet loss, jitter, and throughput using tools such as Iperf and Brix.
+ Monitor and isolate network issues using SolarWinds Orion and Web Help Desk; document advanced troubleshooting steps and resolution paths for knowledge sharing and operational continuity.
+ Execute complex translations and maintenance assignments on switching equipment, including VOIP systems, remote switches, MUXs, and Wireless Access Points.
+ Perform advanced Layer 1 troubleshooting for DS0, DS1, DS3, point-to-point, private line, and Ethernet circuits, with the ability to isolate and resolve physical layer faults.
+ Apply advanced knowledge of IP routing, TCP/IP, DNS, email systems, and MPLS to resolve high-impact network issues across Cisco, Juniper, SDWAN, and FortiGate platforms.
+ Demonstrate full ownership and accountability in assigned areas, proactively resolving issues and mentoring team members with minimal supervision.
+ Apply strong customer service skills in a 24x7 call center environment, with flexibility to work off-hours, on-call, and during holidays.
+ Maintain proficiency with internal tools and ticketing systems, and contribute to continuous improvement through coaching, documentation, and knowledge transfer.
+ Ability to identify and resolve customer reported trouble.
+ Takes full ownership and accountability in areas assigned. Takes independent action and rarely requires guidance, often proactively take the lead on technical issues/concerns.
**What We Look For in a Candidate**
Basic Qualifications:
+ Required - Cisco CCNA certifications or equivalent IT technology awareness. Candidate has demonstrated technical helpdesk experience.
+ 5 + year of technical customer call center experience.
+ Associate degree in Engineering, Electronics, Networks or related technical or vocational education or equivalent experience or 7+ years of related work experience.
+ Test knowledge/experience of DS0/DS1 circuits.
+ Knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols, and IP addressing.
+ Experience with basic commands in Cisco, Juniper, Alcatel routers and or UNIX commands.
+ Experience with Juniper, Cisco, Meraki, SDWAN and FortiGate
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Associate degree in Engineering, Electronics, Software, or Networks; or a related technical or vocational education or equivalent experience. Seven or more years applicable work experience Preferred Cisco CCIP, CCDP, CCNP certifications, Juniper or ALU data networking equivalent
+ Strong working knowledge and experience on DWDM Layer 1, Metro Ethernet and IP communications (IPv4, IPv6, routing protocols)
+ Technical knowledge and experience on contemporary technologies (e.g. MPLS, TDM, Ethernet, eLAN-eLine, TCP/IP, BGP, QoS, IP, etc)
+ Previous experience with broadband and/or narrowband circuit maintenance, testing and restoration, provisioning databases and circuit activations
+ Previous experience with routers, IP protocols, configurations, interfaces is strongly preferred
+ Prior experience with Transport platforms (i.e. Nortel, Cisco, Ciena, Lucent and Tellabs) and Data platforms (Cisco, Juniper, Adtran)
+ Previous experience with Gov't networks and customers.
+ Demonstrated leadership profile to manage customer networks, proactively track and escalate issues, engage resources to expedite service/network outages, professional interaction skills with customers and management
+ Must be able to effectively manage multiple issues simultaneously through effective work prioritization.
+ Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions and logical thinking when under pressure
+ Demonstrated ability to train, coach and develop technical skill set of shift technicians
**Compensation**
This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors

75,994 - 101,325 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, and RI.

**The Role**
Operations Technician 2 role focuses on resolving customer-reported network issues and providing advanced technical support, including remote diagnostics and coordination with carriers to ensure service restoration within SLAs.
**The Main Responsibilities**
+ Responsible for identifying and resolving customer reported trouble
+ Provide advance technical support to include remote trouble diagnostics and correction
+ Assist with answering customer calls during overflow/outage situations
+ Updates status to customers on an as required basis
+ Utilize various dashboards to monitor Cisco, Juniper, Meraki, and Fortigate solutions
+ Escalation of customer and network trouble to ensure timely resolution
+ Actively work with local exchange carriers and Lumen internal Operations Centers to ensure current services are active and restored within the Service Level Agreements
+ Keep the project team updated with daily progress reports on any assigned actions.
+ Using Solarwinds and Web Helpdesk access this position will monitor and isolate layer 2/3 problems on the IP platform, VPN and MPLS Network.
+ Detailed understanding of DS0/1 and 3 circuits: point to point, private line, and Ethernet
