We are seeking a highly skilled Cargo Handler to join our team. As a Cargo Handler, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient loading and unloading of cargo from trailers.
Key Responsibilities- Loading and unloading cargo in accordance with established procedures.
- Performing pre- and post-trip inspections on tractor/trailers to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Operating a forklift as needed to move cargo around the facility.
- Maintaining accurate records of cargo movements and transactions.
- A valid Class A CDL with doubles/triples, tanker and hazardous materials endorsements.
- At least 1 year of verifiable tractor/trailer experience.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- The ability to lift up to 75 pounds and stand for long periods of time.

- Use power pneumatic and hand tools.
- Operate fork trucks and hoists.
- Perform repetitive progressive line assembly of parts and sub-assemblies on any line in the plant in accordance with predetermined methods and sequences.
- In accordance with company policy and the union contract, assemblers must also be able and willing to meet these essential job requirements:
- Work any shift and work overtime as necessary to ensure that production demands are met.
- Work multiple jobs both within and outside the assigned product area.
- Use all required safety gear and equipment.
- Comply with all established plant rules and policies.

**Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Accepts incoming goods and compares them with the shipping document (Material number, description, quantity).
- Checks incoming goods for visible damage, documents them and provides the information if required.
- Takes care for correct use of transport equipment (hand-guided industrial trucks, forklift, etc.).
- Captures relevant data in data processing systems.
- Arranges the acceptance, storage, commissioning and removal of goods in the storage area and records them in the appropriate systems.
- Organizes a regular stock maintenance and inventory in the storage area.
- Assembles deliveries out of given storage compartments and reviews for completeness and accuracy (quantity and article number in reference to the respective delivery notes).
- Completes packaging of deliveries having regard to shipping instructions, common methods of dispatch, types of packaging and other instructions (Dangerous Goods) in the given framework.
- Adds the corresponding shipping documents to the outgoing goods.
- Completes transports inside and if applicable outside the premises with professional usage of appropriate means of transportation.
- Incumbent is expected to cope due to experience with multiple choice situations in number of processes and routines.
- Thinking is about applying / adapting the "right" procedure to a process or an issue arising.
- Unexpected situations need effective solution.
- Deliver full range service in a defined and focused technical or administrative area of work, while clear input / output relations and generic and work specific guidelines, procedures are given or available.
- Position operates major parts or full spectrum of dedicated specialized standard software packages.
- Incumbents may handle routine and non-complex practical enquiries and procedures from internal or external customers.
