Quantum Pain and Orthopedics- Round Rock is looking for a Bilingual Medical Assistant to join our team! The Medical Assistant is responsible for conducting administrative and specific clinical tasks under the direction of a Physician or Provider to ensure efficient operation of the clinic. The Medical Assistant contributes to a positive patient experience by functioning as a member of the clinical team performing a supportive role in the delivery of patient care that is safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable.
Essential Functions:
- Rooms patients consistent with clinic needs while determining and documenting chief complaint and reason for visit, vital signs, medication list, allergies, smoking history and other information as required by clinic.
- Documents patient vitals and keep medical records up to date
- Communicates and documents any status updates and changes regarding patient and treatment plan.
- Maintains patient charts and ensures completeness and accuracy of patients forms.
- Keeps patients informed of delays and progress of clinical appointments.
- Provides administrative support and performs routine clerical tasks such as photocopying, scanning, and faxing.
- Ensures exam rooms are prepared and stocked with adequate medical supplies as well as cleaning rooms appropriately between patients.
- Maintains and responds to e-mails, telephone calls and inquiries.
- Takes telephone messages and provides feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls.
- Assists team and uses downtime efficiently.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology
- Knowledge of patient care charts and patient histories
- Knowledge of patient evaluation and triage procedures
- Ability to perform standard clinical procedures according to established protocols
- Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow
- Ability to maintain calendars and schedule appointments
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards
- Ability to adapt easily to changing conditions and work responsibilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or GED
- One (1) year of experience in a clinical setting

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Triage patients upon arrival.
- Communicate with the provider when the patient is ready, summarizing symptoms and any abnormal vitals.
- Document visits in the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system (eMDs).
- Assist the provider with procedures and patient care, including splinting, radiology, vaccines, medication administration, phlebotomy, and more.
- Administer and document medications as directed by the provider.
- Prepare, clean, and maintain exam and treatment rooms.
- Obtain lab samples and follow up with patients once results are available.
- Provide patient education at the end of the visit and address any follow-up questions.
- Position patients for radiology procedures (training provided).
- Handle front office tasks, including insurance verification, patient registration, answering phones, and processing payments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
- Passion for working with children
- Experience in a Pediatric Office, Pediatric Hospital, or Urgent Care within the past 3 years, with a minimum duration of 6 months
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) with a Texas license
- BLS certification required (online renewal accepted by the American Heart Association)
- Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, basic clinical procedures, CLIA-Waived Testing, and EMR software
