The University of Texas at Austin is seeking to hire a Construction Contract Specialist for Campus Operations supporting projects for Planning, Design, and Construction (PDC). PDC is currently managing more than $5 billion in major projects in the design and construction phases, and this position is critical for the successful delivery of these projects.

Purpose
Responsible for the procurement process, preparation, submission, and maintenance of contractual agreements and related processes pertaining to construction projects managed by PDC.
Responsibilities
- Proficient in competitive solicitations and the resulting contracts, state procurement requirements, and departmental processes to perform job duties and provide technical support to PDC staff and other university departments.
- Coordinates solicitation and contract document distribution and quality control with Project Managers, Professional Service Providers, HUB Staff Associates, and Project Specialists.
- Prepares competitive solicitation award contracts for execution, routing, and retention. Review contract documents for quality control and compliance with state procurement regulations and Campus Operations processes.
- Updates Contracts Database and LBB website with contract award information. Database entry and report generations.
- Schedules and coordinates multi-task projects in an evolving and deadline-driven environment to maintain timely completion of contract functions. Use computer applications Windows PC, Word, Excel, Outlook, Define, UT Works and the contracts database.
- Provides technical, contracting, and accounting support for PDC staff. Works independently and as a team member with other contracting staff, project managers, the HUB coordinator, and other professionals on PDC projects.
- Coordinates Contract-related events, including networking with PMs, training sessions, orientations, etc.
- Other related functions as assigned.
High school graduation or GED. Five years of purchasing or contracting experience. Experience in a deadline-driven environment working on multiple projects. Three years of experience in Microsoft Office software. At least one year of experience with database entry. A minimum of one (1) professional contracting certification must be attained within twelve months of appointment to the position. Once attained, certification must be maintained active in this position for the duration of time.
Experience using excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills, with an ability to manage multiple simultaneous activities in a complex environment.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or additional education in contract management or related field. Four or more years of experience in the State of Texas, Higher Ed contracting process. Advanced work skills in typical office software packages, including merging, formatting styles, templates, and Excel-linked workbooks. Two years of experience in the preparation of contracts and competitive solicitation process. Experience in the State of Texas contracting and procurement process. Professional certification in procurement/contracting, such as Certified Texas Contract Developer and/or Certified Texas Contract Manager. Experience in the construction industry, architectural, or engineering processes. Familiarity with UT-specific programs such as UT Works (Assetworks - AiM) and DEFINE.

Supervises and directs overall project activities as assigned. Provides basic to highly complex technical, field and site administration support to field and project personnel. Prepares and reviews Primavera P6 CPM Schedules, baseline and progress update submittals of high complexity. Assists design engineers and self-perform labor/subcontractors to determine schedule impacts and recovery plan for unexpected site conditions and impacts. Assists in facilitating solutions through collaboration with the project teams via VDC, Building Information Modeling, and traditional collaboration methods. Participates with project staff to plan and prepare resource-loaded schedule integrated with primavera P6 and EcoSys EPC, and analyze Estimated Cost At Completion throughout project execution phase. Monitors original and current budget by project task code structures and analyzes and compare task code costs and performance across all project categories to ensure accuracy of project reports. About the role
The Data Center Construction Civil Engineer will be responsible for leading all aspects of projects from site planning to construction. Global Engineering Services (GES) is looking for a talented Sr. Construction Project Safety Manager to support a growing contractor safety program. This role will further develop, maintain and oversee the global construction safety contractor management program. This role will be part of the GES Construction, Operations Engineering, and Startup teams with a direct relationship with the Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) team. The successful candidate will work closely with construction, procurement, legal, execution leaders, and counterparts throughout the world.
