What you'll do as a Supervisor Telecom Construction Underground

  • Taking the lead in implementing the project and company safety plans

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of Commercial and Public Works experience preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail and facility with numbers
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task, in a busy job site environment
  • Ability to resolve issues independently based on project/company standards and verification of facts prior to releasing documents to the client or outside agencies

The County of Riverside Transportation Department has an opportunity for a Maintenance and Construction Worker (MCW) position located throughout the County of Riverside.

Meet the Team!

The is responsible for planning, designing, funding, building, operating and maintaining all roads, bridges, and transportation facilities within the unincorporated County territory.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES
•Perform recycling work at refuse disposal sites: load/unload waste tires at illegal dump sites at community cleanups; collect, package and ship electronic waste for recycling; collect, handle and store household antifreeze, batteries, motor oil and paints from landfill customers.
•Spray, cut and clear brush/weeds.
•Use a variety of hand and power tools, mowers and other light motorized equipment.

DISABILITY:
Employees contribute to State Disability Insurance (SDI), which provides wage replacement benefits for those unable to work due to non-work-related illness, injury, or pregnancy. SDI also includes Paid Family Leave benefits. The wage replacement rate, as defined by current law, is between 60-70% of wages earned during the SDI eligibility period. Benefits can be coordinated with other available leave balances to provide up to 100% of regular pay.

POST RETIREMENT MEDICAL CONTRIBUTION: A monthly contribution is made by the County towards retiree health insurance offered through the County as governed by the applicable Memorandum of Understanding.

Construction General Laborers

EagleLift, A Groundworks Company, is seeking talented Construction General Laborers to join their team in Ontario, CA!

The Installer is a vital member of our crew and will travel (in a company-provided vehicle) to homes in the general area to install foundation repair, crawl space encapsulation, basement waterproofing, and concrete lifting solutions. Candidates with previous experience in construction, home services, trade work, general labor, and landscaping would be a great fit for this position.

Job Responsibilities as a General Laborer:

  • Working on a high-performance team serving customers in our local area. You'll be traveling around the area and working in our customer's homes
  • Installing our products and services under the supervision of trained professionals
  • Be a team player who will do whatever it takes to win for you, your team and the organization
  • Ability to listen well and follow instructions closely
  • Ability to grind it out every day knowing that hard work is rewarded

What is required to join our team as a General Laborer - Installer:

  • Loads and delivers materials from the warehouse to the work site
  • Performs set-up and clean-up tasks at the work site
  • Digs and back-fill trenches/holes when necessary
  • Lifts heavy objects
  • Walks and stand for long periods of time
  • Performs strenuous labor often under adverse conditions
  • Enters crawl spaces and other confined areas
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Valid driver's license preferred, but not required

Physical requirements:

  • The position lifts heavy objects and/or up to 50 lbs., walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor.
  • The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue; and effectively lifts and carries heavy loads.
  • The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand and arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. It also requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs.
  • The employee must have excellent stamina.
  • Seeing with the ability to read reports, data, statistics and information on computer screens are required.

General Summary

This position is responsible for developing accurate and timely proposals and estimates for both private and public sector works projects from $50 to $00 million to ensure Granite is a responsive bidder. Projects include structures, sound barriers and bridges, as well as underground work such as waterlines, sewer lines, storm drains, and dry utilities. This role will support a region that covers the Inland Empire, High Desert, and Coachella Valley and specializes in highways, roads, rail, infrastructure, utilities and small buildings.

Essential Job Accountabilities

  • Comprehend and administer a safety program that provides for a safe work environment that meets or exceeds Granites Annual Incident Goal, and foster a culture that expects participation at all levels.

  • Create and promote, in his/her organization, the ability to recognize and understand the appropriate environmental policies, rules, and the potential adverse affects to the environment due to operations, and take steps necessary to comply with policy/rules, and mitigate the effects of operations.

  • Create and/or foster a quality culture that recognizes the affect of quality on all operations, and takes steps necessary to provide a product or service that is a source of pride for our workers, and pleasing to our customers.

  • Analyze and compile estimate data that impact the cost of labor, materials, equipment requirements, location and other factors to ensure a high quality and timely estimate.

  • Review drawings, specifications and proposed project site conditions; record findings and solicit input from field operations to include in final project estimate.

  • Analyze alternative solutions and construction methods to increase competitiveness of the bid.

  • Review take-off quantities to ensure accuracy of data used in estimates.

  • Utilize existing cost history as a check to complete estimate.

  • Apply mathematical calculations requiring advanced analytical processes to ensure logically estimated costs are accurate.

  • Present estimate and participate in bid reviews with senior management to ensure accuracy and completeness.

  • Communicate with owners, subcontractors, public and private entities to ensure competitiveness.

  • Communicate estimate bid information to field operations at pre-construction meetings to ensure understanding of scope of job and critical means and methods of construction.

  • Develop and maintain business relationships to increase bid opportunities in the regional market.

  • Supervise, direct, and mentor estimating staff to ensure individual development and Granite standards are met.

  • Participate in and/or lead Design-build preconstruction services to ensure a high quality, competitive estimates and schedules.

  • Participate in and/or lead means and method discussions, being the catalyst to drive creative thinking and innovative ideas that distinguishes a successful estimate.

Education

  • Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or equivalent related work experience.

Work Experience

  • 10+ years estimating experience including heavy civil structures, sound barriers and bridges, as well as underground work such as waterlines, sewer lines, storm drains, and dry utilities.

  • Prior management experience required.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • Proficiency with all MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), AGTEK Take-off and Primavera P6 or other scheduling software.

  • Advanced knowledge of HCSS HeavyBid estimating software.

  • Advanced knowledge of civil engineering principles.

  • Advanced knowledge of construction principles and equipment capabilities.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Advanced knowledge of agency DBE requirements.
