Job Description
The Maintenance Electrician performs journeyman level technical work in the installation, operation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems, equipment, fixtures and related electrical systems.
The incumbent inspects and tests electrical systems to locate and diagnose faults and malfunctions, performs required repairs (replacement and re-wiring). The Maintenance Electrician may be required to prepare estimates if the work necessitates complex repair and/or full replacement.
The Maintenance Electrician class is distinguished from the Lead Maintenance Electrician by the latter's responsibility for assigning the work of a small crew of electricians and inspecting work upon completion.
Competitive candidates will have experience with interpreting wiring diagrams, blueprints and electrical schematics; experience with operating emergency generators is essential to ensure readiness in critical situations. Strong troubleshooting skills showing abilities to effectively diagnose and resolve electrical issues. Applying electrical formulas and conversion tables; ability to use electrical test equipment ( volt-ohmmeters, amp meters, circuit testers).
This position will be Monday-Friday 7AM-4PM. The Facilities Management Department does not offer Telecommute options at this time.

Install electrical conduits, fixtures, motors, switches, and outlets according to codes, working from blueprints, schematic diagrams, sketches, and oral and written directions.
• Test established circuits for overload and determine circuit requirements for additional electrical equipment, test circuitry and switches for failures.
• Isolate problems and replace worn or broken parts; make repairs on electrical circuits and equipment, including motors, heaters, air conditioning controls, and a wide variety of electrical equipment.
• Estimate materials needed and cost of electrical repair jobs; perform preventive maintenance on electrical equipment.
• May assist in the performance of basic construction work in preparation for electrical installation or repair (e.g., pouring and forming concrete, repairing and installing plumbing systems, and framing and installing doors and drywall).
• Performs a variety of facilities-related task, which may include, but are not limited to, light maintenance duties such as plumbing, lock repairs, and general upkeep to ensure a safe and functional space; other duties as required. OPTION I
Experience: Completion of a recognized electrician apprenticeship training program.
OPTION II
Experience: Four years of increasingly responsible experience performing work in installing and repairing electrical systems and equipment. Two years of the required experience may be substituted on the basis of 12 semester or 18 quarter units in trade related courses taken at an accredited college or university being equal to six months of experience.
OPTION III
Experience: Four years of increasingly responsible experience performing work in installing and repairing electrical systems and equipment. Two years of the required experience may be substituted on the basis of 144 hours of trade related instruction taken at a union training center, adult school, vocational school, or specialized industrial program being equal to six months of experience.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Possession of a valid California Driver License: Class C
Successful completion of a Sheriff's Level One Clearance (background check)

Knowledge of: The methods, tools, materials, and equipment used in the electrical trade; pertinent electrical codes.

THIS IS AN ONSITE DAILY REQUIRED POSITION
**WHAT YOU'LL DO:**
Maintains facilities, facilities electrical systems and equipment in order to provide a safe, efficient and comfortable workplace. Responsibilities include operation, repair, and preventative maintenance of all building facilities and equipment; installation and repair of 480v/208v electrical systems, circuits, motors, transformers, etc. , move and installation of equipment and or furniture; and other related duties. Expert level only: Provides validation technical assistance to engineering to support manufacturing efforts by implementing corrective and preventative actions. Assists engineers in developing methods and procedures to control or improve Facilities processes. Assists in execution of facility and utility validations. Validation certification required. (Northern/Southern California)
+ Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
+ Must be proficient in basic computer knowledge, Microsoft office, and CMMS.
+ Performs plant and/or office facilities maintenance duties such as furniture moving, maintenance of office equipment, simple electrical projects, spot painting or cleaning, light construction or exterior clean up.;
+ Performs routine repairs and maintenance of plant and/or office facilities and equipment by using hand or power tools as required.;
+ Sets up and operates all tools and equipment necessary to perform assigned work.;
+ Performs work in more than one of the maintenance trades: carpentry, plumbing, painting, machine and equipment repair, electrical and HVAC, sheet metal fabrication, and welding, for the construction, repair, and/or alteration of structures such as walls, roofs or office fixtures.
+ Makes routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment. (Intermediate and Senior Levels); 7. Works with manufacturing or process engineering in the installation or repair of building plumbing and wiring required in the production process.
+ Tests, inspects, troubleshoots, and repairs machines and equipment and reports problems to supervisor as appropriate.;
+ Works with outside contractors on facilities and equipment repairs.;
+ Interprets blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications. (Senior Level);
**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING:**
Minimum Education
H.S. diploma or equivalent plus 8+ years of related electrical work experience or equivalent combination. Two-year degree or some college credits preferred.
Minimum Training/Experience
**Apprenticeship:**
+ Completion of an approved 8,000 hour electrical apprenticeship program, which includes both on-the-job training and classroom instruction.
+ Must hold current California State Electrical Journeyman License.
+ Strong knowledge of medium voltage infrastructure, single line distribution and controls.
(Technical/Business Knowledge (Job Skills)) Applies solid knowledge of business concepts, procedures and practices, and a complete understanding fundamentals in a functional area, and working knowledge of other related disciplines. Will perform this job in a quality system environment.;
(Cognitive Skills) Performs complex assignments usually without established procedures. Assignments require considerable judgment, initiative, creativity and leadership in troubleshooting, suggesting alternatives, and making recommendations for continuous quality improvement.

**Job Title:** Field Electrician Solar/BMS
**Principal Duties and Responsibilities:**
+ Mounting of devices and field interface panels
+ Install EMT and Rigid conduit.
+ Determine the number of cables and wires to be run in conduit pulls or open cable pulls between devices and field interface panels.
+ Install and mount high voltage AC/DC power for inverters. Install high-voltage disconnects. Install and configure solar panels. Install high voltage and low voltage wiring.
+ Calculate cable/wire pulls in conduit to ensure conduit maximum fill.
+ Identify all cables and wires with wire numbers and maintain documented as-builts of the numbering.
+ Pull cables and wiring.
+ Collaborate with Project Manager, Supervisors, and other team members to ensure timely project completion.
+ Terminate wiring using design drawings.
+ Creation and daily maintenance of an as-built record of installation.
+ Maintain Daily Reports to be forwarded to the Foreman/Project Manager
+ Assist Commissioning Technicians with commissioning and startup.
+ Follow all EMCOR and Customer's safety requirements and attend all Safety Meetings
+ Out-of-state and overnight travel
+ Daily cleanup of work areas or as needed based on occupied spaces.
