Our client, a prestigious contemporary art museum, is seeking a visionary Senior Curator to lead their Digital Art & New Media collection and exhibition initiatives. This position is a full-time role, and while based in **Jacksonville, Florida, US**, it offers the flexibility of remote work for certain responsibilities, particularly research and digital outreach, with expectations for periodic on-site presence for exhibitions and key meetings. The ideal candidate will possess a profound understanding of contemporary art, with a specialization in digital art, video art, interactive installations, and emerging media forms. You will be responsible for developing and executing a curatorial vision, acquiring new works, organizing groundbreaking exhibitions, and engaging diverse audiences through innovative programming.

- Write scholarly catalogue essays, exhibition texts, wall labels, and other curatorial materials.
- Cultivate relationships with artists, galleries, collectors, and other institutions within the digital art field.
- Develop and lead public programs, lectures, panel discussions, and artist talks related to digital art.
- Oversee the conservation and stewardship of the digital art collection, including digital preservation strategies.
- Engage with digital platforms and social media to expand the museum's reach and audience engagement for contemporary art.
- Collaborate with education, marketing, and development departments to support institutional goals.
- Stay abreast of current scholarship, trends, and practices in contemporary art, with a focus on digital and new media.
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Art History, Curatorial Studies, or a related field, with a specialization in contemporary art, digital art, or new media.
- Minimum of 6 years of curatorial experience, with a strong track record of exhibitions and acquisitions in digital art and new media.
- Deep knowledge of art historical contexts, critical theories, and the contemporary art market, particularly concerning digital forms.
- Proven experience with digital preservation and the technical aspects of displaying and archiving new media art.
- Excellent research, writing, and public speaking skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and independently, managing multiple projects and deadlines.
- Experience with grant writing and fundraising is a plus.
- Strong network within the international digital art community.
- Ability to travel for research, acquisitions, and professional development as needed.
