Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Float Pool Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for performing patient assessments, developing a plan of care, and implementing and evaluating care. As a member of the interdisciplinary care team, you will work collaboratively with the other members to assure the safe and accurate delivery of care. In this role, you will have the opportunity to float to the Cardiac Progressive Care Unit, Emergency Department, CVICU, Cath Lab Prep/Recovery, and other units as assigned based of competencies.

* You will formulate a plan of care, revise the plan based on the patient’s response to treatment and regularly evaluate plan for effectiveness

* You will consult and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop, evaluate and revise the plan of care to meet the patient’s needs and goals

* You will administer medications and complete treatments according to hospital policy

* You will delegate work appropriately to non-licensed staff in accordance with standards of practice

* You will provide pre- and post-operative patient care

* You will provide education materials to patients and families on care and treatments

* You will facilitate discharge plans in collaboration with the care team


Requirements


Experience

* 2 years of recent clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN)

* Preferred – Background in Telemetry or Cardiac Care


Education

* Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program

* Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)


License and Certifications

Dell Children’s Medical Center (DCMC) in Austin Texas is seeking an exceptional board certified or board eligible faculty member to join our growing Pediatric Critical Care Medicine division. We are seeking a collegial, clinically adept and well-trained colleague who is interested in contributing to both our clinical and academic missions relating to research, medical education, quality improvement and/or clinical excellence.

Dell Children’s Medical Center, an Ascension Seton facility works in conjunction with Dell Medical School to provide pediatric clinical care, medical education and research. There are two campuses with a total of 36 PICU beds with approximately 1300 admissions/year. We perform extracorporeal techniques including ECMO, kidney replacement therapy and plasma exchange. In addition, there is a 24 bed CVICU, inpatient pediatric rehabilitation unit, and an epilepsy monitoring unit. We are the only Level I Trauma Center in the region. We have a full complement of pediatric medical and surgical subspecialists. Medical Education is an important mission with a PCCM fellowship with 2 fellows/year as well as PEM fellows, and pediatric residents. All intensivists are expected to join the UT Austin Dell Medical School as faculty members. Responsibilities
Dell Children’s Medical Center (DCMC) in Austin Texas is seeking an exceptional board certified or board eligible faculty member to join our growing Pediatric Critical Care Medicine division. We are seeking a collegial, clinically adept and well-trained colleague who is interested in contributing to both our clinical and academic missions relating to research, medical education, quality improvement and/or clinical excellence.

Dell Children’s Medical Center, an Ascension Seton facility works in conjunction with Dell Medical School to provide pediatric clinical care, medical education and research. There are two campuses with a total of 36 PICU beds with approximately 1300 admissions/year. We perform extracorporeal techniques including ECMO, kidney replacement therapy and plasma exchange. In addition, there is a 24 bed CVICU, inpatient pediatric rehabilitation unit, and an epilepsy monitoring unit. We are the only Level I Trauma Center in the region. We have a full complement of pediatric medical and surgical subspecialists. Medical Education is an important mission with a PCCM fellowship with 2 fellows/year as well as PEM fellows, and pediatric residents. All intensivists are expected to join the UT Austin Dell Medical School as faculty members.
