Qualifications:
Required:

Within BES, the Data Governance and Informatics Unit (DGI) oversees data policies, compliance, and security, facilitating responsible access to key health data sources.
This position is funded through a CDC grant and will be employed by Public Health Solutions (PHS), a nonprofit organization that serves as the fiscal and administrative manager for this initiative. While employed by PHS, the Data Governance Coordinator will work directly with DOHMH to support its data modernization and governance efforts.
Position Summary:
The Data Governance Coordinator will help implement data governance policies and ensure smooth, compliant access to external health data sources. Reporting to the Data Governance Manager, you'll support policy development, data stewardship, and user education for DOHMH analysts.
Specifically, the Data Governance Coordinator will:
- Serve as a data steward, managing relationships with external data providers (e.g., NYS DOH, RHIOs), coordinating data access agreements, and ensuring compliance.

The Data Governance Analyst will work with senior members of the team and stakeholders from business units throughout MRSNA, to support development and implementation of a data governance and management program. Duties include assistance in defining, developing and documenting methods, responsibilities, processes to standardize, integrate, protect and store data; monitoring and reporting on data quality; maintaining business rules and data dictionaries; organizing, supporting, coordinating and actively participating in data stewardship activities; supporting and assuming specific responsibilities as they relate to master and reference data management and ownership as well as engaging business leaders to steer the evolution the companies' data assets.
A successful individual will have a strong foundational business and technical knowledge of data governance and management concepts using both current and emerging best practices and technologies. The Data Governance Analyst will work with senior members of the team and stakeholders from business units throughout MRSNA, to support development and implementation of a data governance and management program. Duties include assistance in defining, developing and documenting methods, responsibilities, processes to standardize, integrate, protect and store data; monitoring and reporting on data quality; maintaining business rules and data dictionaries; organizing, supporting, coordinating and actively participating in data stewardship activities; supporting and assuming specific responsibilities as they relate to master and reference data management and ownership as well as engaging business leaders to steer the evolution the companies' data assets.
A successful individual will have a strong foundational business and technical knowledge of data governance and management concepts using both current and emerging best practices and technologies. Responsibilities
In this position you will:
- Manage both existing and to be defined reference data sets through the further development of procedures, routines, approval flows and processes ensuring consistency, comprehensiveness, and standardization resulting in a high degree of confidence in MRSNA data.
