As the Manager of Database Analysis and Development, you will lead a high-performing team in designing, developing, and maintaining robust, scalable, and secure database systems. You will drive the implementation of strategic database solutions that enhance efficiency, ensure data integrity, and support the organization's long-term objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of database analysts and developers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role.

• 5-8+ years of experience in enterprise-level database administration, system analysis, design, and support.

• Proficient in multiple database platforms including: SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Cosmos DB.

• Proven ability to manage and implement high-availability solutions.

• Cloud experience with AWS and/or Azure, including provisioning cloud servers, configuring health checks, and using schedulers via portals.

• Expertise in scripting and automation using PowerShell.

• Extensive experience in setup, maintenance, troubleshooting, performance tuning, capacity planning, monitoring, and security (including encryption and HADR).

• Familiarity with Always On availability groups, database mirroring, log shipping, VM replication, and third-party backup/restore solutions.

• Experience with cloud migrations and platform upgrades from on-premises systems.

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and take ownership of database systems.

• Proven track record of developing automation tools to reduce manual overhead and enhance system reliability.

• Experience with building systems for monitoring capacity, auditing security, and capturing events using database tools.

• Skilled in server installation, configuration, and upgrades.

• Strong knowledge of failover clustering, SAN replication, and transactional replication.

• Experience with business intelligence and integration tools such as Cognos, SSAS, SSIS, MuleSoft, Informatica, Power BI, and SSRS is a plus.

• Deep experience in backup and recovery strategies and testing procedures.

• Knowledge of change control processes and code migration for database objects.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President / General Manager, the Lead Data Modeling Engineer (Azure) is responsible for the architecture, design, development and deployment of data modeling and reporting capabilities utilizing Microsoft Azure Analysis Services, Azure Databricks and Microsoft Power BI software platforms. The role is part of our Enterprise Data Platform team that manages the ingestion, storage, modeling, and consumption of data for Acosta and our clients. The Lead Modeling Engineer is also accountable for the optimization and automation of those BI solutions within Acosta's Enterprise Data Platform.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Development of complex/advanced Azure Analysis Services (AAS) Tabular models with large volumes of data and advanced business logic, as well as enhancements to existing large/advanced AAS models.

• Creation of complex and efficient views in Azure Databricks to support AAS Tabular modeling requirements.

• Work closely with Project Managers / Scrum Masters, BI Architects, BI QA Analysts and Data Engineering Developers in both Agile and Waterfall work settings to deliver solutions against a deadline that meet the requirements of the business and product stakeholders.

• Performance monitoring, tuning and optimization of AAS and PBI models.

• Mentors Junior and Senior Data Modelers in PBI and AAS development, specifically surrounding optimization, and automation.

• Investigate new and emerging technologies with potential uses for Microsoft and other BI technologies by researching, POC'ing and sharing solutions within the Data Platform team that will help drive efficiency and innovation for our business and product stakeholders.

• Continually focus on self-development by allocating time to continually develop your BI, modeling, and data skills.

• Automation and scheduling/triggering of data refreshes for the AAS models.

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Data Scientist specializing in Predictive Modeling to join our growing data science team. This fully remote position will be responsible for developing, deploying, and maintaining advanced predictive models that drive critical business decisions and create competitive advantages. You will lead a team of data scientists, mentor junior members, and collaborate closely with business stakeholders to identify key areas where predictive analytics can deliver significant impact. The ideal candidate possesses a deep expertise in machine learning algorithms, statistical modeling, and experience in translating complex data into actionable insights.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and implementation of predictive models using machine learning and statistical techniques.
• Design and execute experiments to validate model performance and identify optimal parameters.
• Collaborate with business units to understand their needs and translate them into data science projects.
• Mentor and guide junior data scientists, fostering a culture of learning and innovation.
• Ensure the robustness, scalability, and maintainability of deployed models.
• Communicate complex analytical findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Stay current with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines and infrastructure required for model development and deployment.
• Contribute to the strategic direction of data science initiatives within the organization.
• Identify new opportunities to leverage data for predictive insights and business impact.

Qualifications:

• Ph.D. or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• 7+ years of experience in data science, with a strong focus on predictive modeling and machine learning.
• Proven experience in developing and deploying machine learning models in a production environment (e.g., regression, classification, time series forecasting, deep learning).
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python (with libraries like scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch) and R.
• Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong understanding of statistical concepts and experimental design.
• Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities and experience managing teams.
