The Dispatcher handles high-volume medical orders ranging from urgent hospital discharges to routine equipment pickups. Primary responsibilities include analyzing work orders, understanding the specific requirements and urgency of each, and then prioritizing and organizing them into efficient geographical routes. Develop and manage daily routes per territory, considering factors such as order complexity, cycle times, and delivery setups. This role involves coordinating various types of deliveries, pickups, and exchanges in diverse settings, both in urban and rural locations. The Dispatcher performs varied activities that are moderately complex in nature. Follows standard policies/practices that allow for some opportunity for interpretation/deviation and/or independent discretion.
The Dispatcher utilizes specialized tools and technology to strategically plan and optimize delivery routes for medical equipment. Key tasks include managing and interpreting data from the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system, which encompasses patient history, equipment needs, and insurance details. This role acts as an essential link between intake processing and fulfillment teams, ensuring accurate coding and understanding of equipment specifications prior to dispatch. A deep knowledge of the types of medical equipment and their setup requirements is crucial for effective order entry and route planning. This role requires a blend of technological proficiency and logistical planning to efficiently handle equipment delivery orders. Works within defined parameters to identify work expectations and quality standards, but has some latitude over prioritization/timing, and works under minimal direction. Follows standard policies/practices that allow for some opportunity for interpretation/deviation and/or independent discretion.

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. Position Overview

The Lead Dispatcher serves as a supervisor for the public safety dispatcher and PBX operators. The position also serves as a liaison between other public safety supervisors and support staff.

What you will be doing
  • Determines the nature and importance of all telephone call request and initiates appropriate response actions to sufficiently service the request
  • Inputs and retrieves information from several different Public Safety databases
  • Monitors all internal office telephones, two-way radio communications, alarm and access control systems
  • Maintains a detailed, daily incident report log
  • Logs in and out lost and found items
  • Issues parking decals and gate cards for Faculty and Staff
  • Receives and distributes College keys to facilities and offices on campus
  • Organizes, maintains and prepares schedules, documents, calendars, and/or equipment or supplies
  • Performs other duties assigned
What you need to succeed
  • High school diploma or GED and two (2) years of related experience in the field or one (1) year of computer-aided dispatcher experience
  • All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
  • Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
  • Individual must be able to work in a critical high volume office environment, have command of proper telephone etiquette and general office procedures
  • Possess computer skills
  • Possess excellent communication and writing skills
  • Possess the ability to interact effectively and diplomatically with representatives from a diverse population, both external and internal
  • Possess a high level of customer service
  • Ability to successfully complete any required training or orientation courses
  • Ability to work a flexibility schedule to include evening and weekend assignments
  • Ability to work well with students, faculty and staff
Essential Position
  • This function/position has been designated as "critical." This means that it has job duties that affect the security, safety or physical operation of the College, and are required to work at the Emergency Operations Center and/or have access to the incident scene once normal campus operations have been suspended.
Additional Requirements

The final candidate is to successfully complete a background screening and reference check process.
