Responsibilities of the Real Estate Capital internship role may include but are not limited to:
• Support the collection and analysis of borrower financial statements and covenant compliance for commercial real estate loan portfolios.
• Assist in conducting property- and asset-level reviews to assess collateral quality and monitor portfolio risk.
• Participate in site visits of commercial real estate properties to evaluate physical condition, occupancy, and project progress.

Work You'll Do
As a Senior Tax Consultant, you will work within an engagement team and draw on your experience in accounting and taxation to provide tax compliance and consulting services to investment management clients. You will identify complex tax issues and provide tax analysis for a variety of entities and their affiliates. Responsibilities will include:
+ Performing detail-level reviews of partnership work papers, allocations, and tax returns as well as preparing materials and research for consulting projects related to tax planning opportunities.
+ Coordinating and communicating with client contacts as required to gather information to complete their tax returns.
+ Training, mentoring, and supervising new and experienced-level tax staff, and attending required Deloitte Tax LLP and sector-specific trainings.

Qualifications
Required:
+ Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2 - 3 days per week
+ 3+ years experience providing tax planning services or preparing client work papers and income tax returns
+ Bachelors degree in accounting, finance or other business-related field
+ Ability to demonstrate basic understanding of Subchapter K, partnership allocation methodologies, and the tax compliance process for real estate funds - Experience working in a fast-paced, team environment
+ Ability to travel up to 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
+ One of the following active accreditations obtained, or in process, or must be able and willing to obtain:
+ Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA
+ If not CPA eligible:
+ Licensed attorney
+ Enrolled Agent
+ Certifications:
+ Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA)
+ Certified Financial Planner (CFP)
Preferred
+ Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM

+ Experience with accounting for income taxes in accordance to ASC740
+ Previous Big 4 or large CPA firm experience

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $66,570 to $151,580.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.

The Real Estate Risk Reviewer will perform independent appraisal reviews on commercial real estate properties. Reliance on experience is critical to identify major issues to protect the bank's collateral position. Ascertain compliance of appraisal reports with the applicable Citizens scope of work and federal regulatory requirements and guidance including, but not limited to:
Financial Institutions Reform, Recovery, and Enforcement Act of 1989 (FIRREA; 12 USC §3331, et seq.) and the implementing regulations promulgated thereunder by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) at 12 CFR Part 34 ("Real Estate Lending and Appraisals")
"Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice" (USPAP);
"Interagency Appraisal and Evaluation Guidelines" ("Interagency Guidelines"), dated December 2010, issued by OCC as periodically supplemented by Financial Institution Letters; and,
"OCC Comptroller's Handbook: Commercial Real Estate Lending," by the OCC, dated August 2013 (OCC Bulletin ).
+ Manage risks associated with the commercial real estate appraisal and evaluation process for a given geographic market and/or assigned lending groups
+ Real estate risk identification, quantification and consulting (including discounted cash flow (DCF) analysis) for the various commercial lending and credit functions throughout Citizens
+ Perform independent commercial real estate appraisal reviews of commercial risk properties including memorializing such review in a comprehensive written format for the benefit of internal customers (Relationship Managers/Portfolio Managers; Credit Officers);
+ Assist in the scoping and engagement of commercial appraisal/evaluation assignments, including third-party vendor selection, analysis type, report content, report format and contract authorization in accordance with policies and procedures.
+ Interact with senior management of Wholesale Credit Risk and Commercial Lending regarding projects especially for those properties that represented a higher degree or real estate risk or otherwise have identified appraisal issues or concerns.
+ Manage vendor relationships
+ Provide direct, responsive customer service to external vendors and internal customers (i.e., Relationship Managers/Portfolio Managers; Credit Officers) that serve as the primary liaison and point-of-contact with both internal customers and external vendors regarding regulatory requirements, identification and explanation of any issues of concern, and development/application of any potential risk mitigants.
