POSITION SUMMARY:
Load and deliver lime slurry to the customers. Complete Pre/Post Inspections on equipment the ensure DOT regulations are met.
We have a pool of drivers hauling product from various terminals and Porta Batch production sites to the customer.
RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:
Deliver slurry shipments in a safe and timely manner.
Operation and Maintenance of Equipment:
- Read and interpret various gauges and instruments used in loading and handling equipment.
- Analyze and evaluate work conditions and make adjustments to equipment as necessary.
- Perform equipment inspections in accordance with DOT requirements.
- Make minor repairs to equipment as needed to maintain fleet operation.
- Ensure the DOT, safety, TCEQ, and environmental regulations are followed.
- Educate and train the local contractors in the safe handling of quicklime/ slurry, and cover emergency medical procedures in case of accidental exposure.
- Must have a Class A CDL with tanker endorsement (N).
- Working knowledge of DOT regulations, fleet equipment, and excellent fleet mechanical skills.
- Ability to maneuver fleet equipment in heavy city traffic and remote job locations.
- Maintain concentration, alertness and attention to detail for an extended period.
- Ability to resolve issues with limited supervision.
- Occasional shift work, including some weekends and holidays.
- Be available or volunteer for occasional out of state deliveries.
- Tolerate working outside in weather conditions as well as exposure to warm temperatures, noise, and lime dust.
- Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 50 feet, confined spaces, and climbing ladders or stairs.
- Able to lift over 40 pounds.
REQUIRED EDUCATION: Class A CDL & Tanker endorsement (N)
PREFFERED EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Verifiable CDL driving experience and/or recent completion of CDL truck driving school.
PREFFERED EXPERIENCE: Two years of verifiable CDL driving experience.

What You'll Do
- Accurately complete corresponding delivery paperwork and work with production, sales and customers to communicate issues with loads and delivery time
- Performs daily Pre-Trip, Inter-Trip, and Post Trip Inspections.
- Responsible for the delivery of products to customers, contractors, and jobsites throughout the location geographic region
- Ensure vehicle is properly loaded and load secured and product is delivered safely and timely
- Ability to stand for duration of shift; frequent physical activity such as walking, climbing stairs or reaching to work with equipment throughout the entire shift
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor/trailer experience required (3 years preferred)

- Ability to inspect vehicle(s) for any safety or operational defects using DOT, maintenance, and safety checklists and ensuring emergency equipment is in proper working order
- No more than 1 moving violation in the previous 3 years
- Pass required D.O.T. and CMC Logistics drug testing programs and physicals as required by D.O.T.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver License required
- High School Diploma or GED required

This key position will deliver Cambria's products to a specified route of fabricators on time and with accuracy in a friendly and professional manner. As a Truck Driver for Cambria, not only are you responsible for driving, you will also load and unload trailers, and perform other additional warehouse duties as needed, all while providing a high level of customer service to our partners.

- 2 years of commercial driving experience with a straight truck
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required

- Ability to operate a straight truck with a high degree of attention, skill, and dexterity to prevent damage to material and equipment.

Job Description
As a Truck Driver (Under 10,001 lbs), you will operate a vehicle that transports cargo to and from specified destinations. You will prepare, receive, and provide appropriate documentation for the delivery or pick up of goods to ensure timely service. You will load, secure, verify, and unload cargo. You will maintain radio or telephone contact with dispatchers to receive instructions for scheduled delivery or pick up. You may be responsible for vehicle inspection and maintenance.
Shift: Monday - Thursday 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. or Friday - Sunday 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 a.m.
Responsibilities:

Drive vehicles with gross vehicle weight rating of less than 10,001 lbs., in order to transport materials to and from specified destinations

Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights and brakes in order to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition

Load and unload trucks, vans or automobiles

Obey traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures

Read maps and follow written and verbal geographic directions

Verify the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers
-
Maintain records such as vehicle logs, records of cargo, or billing statements in accordance with regulations
-
Perform emergency repairs such as changing tires or installing light bulbs, fuses, tire chains, and spark plugs
-
Present bills and receipts and collect payments for goods delivered or loaded
-
Report any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles
-
Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations to bases or other vehicles, using phones or mobile two-way radios
-
Turn in receipts and money received from deliveries
-
Drive trucks equipped with public address systems through city streets in order to broadcast announcements for advertising or publicity purposes

Use and maintain the tools and equipment found on commercial vehicles such as weighing and measuring devices

Perform other duties as required
Qualifications:

High School Degree or Equivalent preferred
-
Valid drivers license
-
Satisfactory driving record
-
2 years required of truck driving experience
-
Must be 18 years of age or older
-
Ability to lift up to 50lbs
-
Ability to obtain forklift certification
-
Able to work in a team environment
-
Detail oriented
-
Customer service skills and the ability to communicate professionally

Forklift certification preferred
Working Environment: Driver - Work is generally performed in moving vehicle. Driving required for an extended period of time with frequent stops and starts. Can be exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
Physical Expectations:

Work is physically strenuous and workers are required to lift heavy packages up to 50 pounds
