**What you'll do:**
The **Eaton Development Program Applications Engineering** is a two-year rotational (optional 3rd year) program designed to develop future application engineers within our Electrical Sector. These rotations can be based in one of our manufacturing locations in either Arden, NC; Greenwood, SC; Fayetteville, NC; Dallas, TX; Sumter, SC; Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; Houston, TX; or Warrendale, PA and will offer relocation assistance.
Applications Engineering Development Program participants will gain exposure to the Applications Engineering function as well as the Sales Engineering function at each of their assignment locations (Eaton manufacturing locations). Assignments will give the participants exposure to manufacturing and test functions, Eaton Field Sales and Field Applications Engineers, as well as end customers. An optional 3rd year assignment will give participants the opportunity to work in a field application engineering role in an Eaton Sales Office.
Participants will get exposure to a variety of Eaton products including: Low Voltage & Medium Voltage motor control, Panelboards, Switchboards, Busway, Medium Voltage circuit breaker and fused switchgear, automatic transfer switches, safety and bolted pressure switches, protective relays, and Low Voltage switchgear. Program is designed to give one year in Power Distribution products and one year in Control products.
**Required (Basic) Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering from an accredited institution with a graduation date before August 2026. 
- Minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.8.

**What you'll do:**
- Work with a team to develop test fixtures for verifying performance of various elements of Switchgear and Motor Control assemblies.  As a member of the team, you will work with lead engineers on design principles such as defining requirements, contributing to definition of hardware design, define test plans and perform validation testing to confirm that system and functional requirements are met.   
- Work with a team to document and organize standards for control schematics along with other collateral utilized to fulfill customer requirements. 
- Work with a team to improve productivity of the application engineering function through testing and implementation of engineering systems.

Assists the surgical team with preparation and care of patients undergoing surgical procedures.

Essential Duties :
  • Opens and prepares operating rooms utilizing aseptic techniques. Duties include determining room orientation, setting up necessary equipment/instruments/supplies for the day's scheduled surgical procedures, and checking to assure equipment is working properly.
  • Assists the surgical team as directed. Duties may include passing instruments and other sterile supplies to surgical team members, holding retractors, preparing sutures/sponges/ other surgical supplies, applying dressings, counting sponges/needles/supplies/instruments, and removing surgical drapes.
  • Performs cleaning and maintenance of the operating room between cases and at the end of the day; decontaminates, assembles, and sterilizes instruments/equipment/supplies.
  • Performs preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of surgical instrumentation and equipment.
  • Prepares for the following day's cases by pulling patient charts, organizing equipment and supplies, and ordering necessary equipment/instruments/supplies for specialty cases.
  • Assists with cleaning, processing, sterilizing, and preparing surgical instrumentation and patient supply items.
  • Assists nurses with procedures as directed.
  • Provides guidance and training to assigned student interns.
  • Supports and serves as a role model for our mission, vision, values, and customer service initiatives. Adheres to the organization's policies & procedures, and compliance guidelines.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills

• Knowledge of surgical procedures, instrumentation, and correct terminology. The incumbent is also required to have knowledge of sterile procedures/aseptic techniques, and surgical procedures. • Knowledge of accrediting and regulatory standards and hospital policies related to the provision of patient care including HIPAA confidentiality and JCAHO mandates • Written and computer skills necessary to prepare required documentation • Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, and other health care professionals in the exchange of information • Mental ability to deal with the concerns and emotional needs of patients, and appropriately respond to stressful/emergency situations • Physical ability to stand for prolonged periods of time, transfer/lift/ reposition/assist patients, and properly set-up/utilize the equipment/ devices necessary in providing patient care • Demonstrates ability to use a keyboard as may be required to perform the essential duties of the job
