This is a grant-funded position with a fixed term of 12 months, contingent on the availability of funding.
The Nutrition Education Manager oversees the implementation of the SNAP-Ed program, leading a small
team to deliver evidence-based nutrition education and Policy, Systems, and Environmental (PSE) change strategies in partnership with community organizations. This role ensures program effectiveness, grant compliance, and long-term sustainability planning in alignment with CAP's mission.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Team Supervision
- Provide direction on priorities, procedures, and expectations.
- Establish clear goals for the team aligned with CAP's mission and strategic plan.
- Performance management: providing ongoing feedback, conducting employee
- evaluations, team development, and handling progressive performance issues.
- Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff.
- Provides coaching, guidance, and performance management to staff.
- Oversee the planning and delivery of all SNAP-Ed activities.
- Conduct assessment and evaluations to track demographics and program outcomes.
- Collect and analyze data on participants, program effectiveness, and impact.

- Build relationships with community leaders, schools, and health organizations to promote the program.
- Manage and track agreements with eligible community partners.
- Cultivate internal and external partnerships, support, or alternative funding streams (e.g., local health initiatives, school wellness grants, private foundations) that could sustain or expand nutrition education efforts
- Document and communicate success stories, outcomes, and return-on-investment of nutrition education programming.
- Ensure compliance with SNAP-Ed grant requirements, including allowable activities, documentation standards, and reporting.
- Monitor program outputs and outcomes using state-required reporting systems.
- Track expenditures and ensure alignment with grant-approved budget.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree required; nutrition science or dietetics emphasis.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- 2-5 years' experience with program management and operations, including budget management and reporting preferred.

Responsible for the internal clinical auditing functions assuring that services are provided within the guidelines of state and federal regulations, and accrediting bodies. Coordinates the development of orientation and staff education programs for all levels of staff and management. Coordinates, evaluates, and monitors the implementation of all quality improvement, patient safety, and regulatory processes and procedures throughout Diagnostic Imaging. Serves as an active collaborator, bridging inpatient and ambulatory services to build commitment for the delivery of high, quality patient care. Supports ongoing active rounding audit practices, as well as serving as a liaison to the front line staff to identify opportunities for quality improvement.
Works collaboratively with Lead QC Technologists to provide comprehensive educational services, consultation, and continuing education for personnel in all Penn Medicine LG Health Diagnostic Imaging sites. Ad hoc involvement in the following Diagnostic Imaging modalities:

Coordinates, evaluates, and monitors the implementation of the department's continuous Performance Improvement Plan utilizing accepted Performance Improvement principles, tools and measurement techniques.

Participates in the monitoring and reporting of the overall Diagnostic Imaging department goals.

Prepares and/or coordinates statistical reports utilizing available software applications based on the results of regulatory audits/tracers and patient/customer satisfaction surveys.

Demonstrates ability to assist others to achieve measurable performance improvements and goal achievement.

Coordinates and monitors the implementation of corrective action plans for deficiencies identified through audit/tracer review, medical record audit, patient/customer satisfaction surveys, and accrediting body and/or state surveys.

Utilizes the necessary resources to obtain valid, reliable data for Quality, Regulatory, Patient Safety, and Hospital/Department policies.

Participates in the development and implementation of standardized policies and standard operating procedures.

Maintains a strong working knowledge of current regulations and quality standards for all state, federal and TJC patient safety and quality requirements both in the acute care and ambulatory settings.

Facilitates the competency development process, collaborating with the modality supervisors on an as-needed basis.

Provide department specific validator training and serves as competency validator.

Solicits feedback from participants regarding effectiveness of learning experiences and behavioral outcomes after the learning experience. Evaluates feedback and adjusts content and /or adapts presentation style of class as appropriate.

Performs frequent environmental scan of assigned units/work areas and recommends educational programming opportunities (new classes, content, experiences, etc.) to meet the needs of employees. Seeks the customer's input and needs by staying aware of and knowledgeable about technical and organizational changes.

Collaborates with supervisors to determine educational needs/competencies related to department specific process improvement.

Collaborate with Diagnostic Imaging department leadership on clinical ladder portfolio assistance, and individual coaching.

Participates in activities related to safety, quality, and regulatory requirements of a procedural/surgical environment. Serves as a subject matter expert and develops orientation, education, and competencies related to safety, quality, and regulatory needs.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Registration/Certification in an Allied Health or related professional discipline. (Certifications could include those such: as American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT), or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)

Associates degree in Allied health or a related degree; or three (3) years of supervisory experience.

Five (5) years of clinical experience in an Allied Health or related discipline.

Computer skills: Intermediate Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Excel.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience in facilitation of teams to drive quality and process improvement within a healthcare setting.

Bachelor's degree in Allied health or a related degree.
