Objective:
Responsible for providing direct student support in an educational environment. Supports the classroom teacher in establishing an environment that promotes the students' individualized academic and behavioral growth.

Primary Responsibilities:
Administration
- Participates as a member of a treatment team in planning individualized approaches for each child and familiarizes self with the student’s case record.
- Completes all assigned paperwork such as, but not limited to strategy sheets, assessments, incident and restraint reports, and monthly motivation reviews and Progress Tracker.
- Supports teachers by assisting with noted assessments and contributing to student’s documentation such as but not limited to IEPs, Functional Behavior Assessments, and Behavior Plans.
- Provides support to teachers in the preparation of materials for lesson plan implementation.
Internal and External Collaboration
- Actively participates in daily debriefings and student meetings, and staff or program meetings as scheduled.
- Supports Teaching staff by working closely with them to promote a safe and professional environment.
- Collaborate with classroom teacher in the development and implementation of daily lesson plan.
Direct Client Service
- Participates in the development of each student’s individual treatment plan and strategy sheet. Ensures implementation as prescribed by treatment plan and strategy sheet. .
- Provides classroom support to students through individualized/small group educational and behavioral assistance. Demonstrates support for students through 1:1 rapport building and TFM interactions throughout the students' school day.
- Supports the classroom teacher in the implementation of instructional plans for students.
Quality Assurance and Effectiveness
- Participates in adjusting clients’ behavior plans as needed to maximize progress.
- Uses student assessment data and other student resources to support individualized behavior plans.
- Performs all levels of crisis intervention including de-escalation strategies, life space interview, seclusion, and physical restraints in emergency situations only.

Reports to: Associate Principal
Minimum Education, Experience and Other Skill Requirements:
This position requires an Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university (or equivalent combination of education and experience). Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Experience working with children with behavioral difficulties preferred. A valid driver’s license is required. Must possess minimum technical skills including familiarity with Microsoft Windows and ability to use standard Microsoft Office applications.
Work Environment:
Exposed to a combination of office, school, and mental health treatment environments. Exposed to children with behavior problems. May be exposed to shouting and clients who may be verbally and physically aggressive.

The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.
