The Office of Global Education (OGE) provides learners at the University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus with a wide range of engaging and affordable international study, research, and clinical opportunities to globalize their academic and professional futures.
The Global Education Coordinator is an international education professional who serves as the primary contact for students and assists with the coordination of study abroad programs.
Global Education Coordinator
What you will do:
Student Advising and Outreach for Global Education (50%)
* The Global Education Coordinator is the primary contact for students participating in faculty-led programs, third-party programs, and other experiences abroad.
* Provides a smooth experience for all students by implementing study abroad advising practices that align with university policies and meet student needs.
* Ensures that CU Denver stakeholders are aware of how OGE manages student advising for current and prospective program participants.
* Supports students by answering student inquiries, providing application guidance, leading pre-departure orientations, and assisting with returnee events.
* Assists students in resolving issues related to health, adjustment, and academic concerns.
* Supports returning students by processing academic course equivalencies and grades for work completed abroad.
* Assists with critical OGE functions, including student marketing and outreach, program development, curriculum mapping, financial aid outreach, and risk management.
* This position will spearhead student-facing events, info sessions, and workshops that maximize students' knowledge of study abroad programs, funding opportunities, and best practices.
* This position will include a primary focus on global study (faculty-led) programs on the Downtown Denver Campus. Program portfolio focus is subject to change based on (a) evolving needs and (b) the distribution of learners across program types.
Program Support (20%):
* The Global Education Coordinator serves on the Global Education Advisory Committee (GEAC) and participates in the review and vetting of faculty-led programs.
* The Global Education Coordinator enrolls students into global studies programs and works closely with OGE Program Managers to ensure timely and complete student applications.
* Utilizes Terra Dotta daily to assist with building program applications, managing existing student applications and enrollment measures, preparing promotional materials, and assisting with risk appeals.
File and Records Management (10%):
* The Global Education Coordinator works closely with Global Education staff and the OIA Finance and Human Resources Unit to ensure student records and billing are accurate.
* Ensures detailed and comprehensive files and records which are essential for operations, analysis, and review of operations.
* The Global Education Coordinator may also assist in reviewing program satisfaction surveys and prepare analyses of programs and other data to identify areas of strength and aspects in need of improvement.
Program Promotion (10%):
* The Global Education Coordinator is responsible for assisting with marketing and promoting study abroad programs. Duties in this area may include assisting with planning and execution of study abroad fairs and campus events, social media marketing and electronic marketing through websites and web promotion, and leading information sessions in campus classroom settings.
* Provides timely and pertinent program updates and reminders to campus academic advisors and identify departmental-level avenues for reaching students.
Risk Management (10%):
* The Global Education Coordinator serves on the campus International Risk Management Committee (IRMC), which sets campus policy for international travel and oversees global incident response.
* Assumes periodic responsibility for the OGE "duty phone," which provides 24/7 emergency support while programs are abroad.
Qualifications you already possess (Minimum Qualifications)
* Bachelor's degree in any discipline from an accredited college or university.
* One year of experience working in customer service.
Preferred Qualification to possess (Preferred Qualifications)
* Prior experience working in international or intercultural programs in accredited higher education institutions.
* Experience studying/living internationally.
* Experience recruiting students for international experiences.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Knowledge of international or intercultural programs in accredited higher education institutions.
* Familiarity with, and knowledge of U.S. and international university systems: academic programs, grading policies, transcript processes, curricular offerings, etc.
* Excellent computer skills, particularly with databases and e-communication.
* Knowledge of study abroad management tools.
* Ability to use Terra Dotta software.
* Ability to learn data analysis and reporting.
* Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
* Ability to interact in a timely, professional and collegial manner with all constituencies.
* Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks, performing time-sensitive duties successfully and with composure.
* Attention to detail.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office application suite.
* Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.

Conditions of Employment
* This position follows a hybrid work structure. This position requires the incumbent to work from one of OIA's campus locations three days per week and may work from home two days per week. Working from the office is encouraged when working on tasks that require a high degree of collaboration.

**What you will do:**
Student Advising and Outreach for Global Education (50%)
+ The Global Education Coordinator is the primary contact for students participating in faculty-led programs, third-party programs, and other experiences abroad.
+ Provides a smooth experience for all students by implementing study abroad advising practices that align with university policies and meet student needs.
+ Ensures that CU Denver stakeholders are aware of how OGE manages student advising for current and prospective program participants.
+ Supports students by answering student inquiries, providing application guidance, leading pre-departure orientations, and assisting with returnee events.
+ Assists students in resolving issues related to health, adjustment, and academic concerns.
+ Supports returning students by processing academic course equivalencies and grades for work completed abroad.
+ Assists with critical OGE functions, including student marketing and outreach, program development, curriculum mapping, financial aid outreach, and risk management.
+ This position will spearhead student-facing events, info sessions, and workshops that maximize students' knowledge of study abroad programs, funding opportunities, and best practices.
+ This position will include a primary focus on global study (faculty-led) programs on the Downtown Denver Campus. Program portfolio focus is subject to change based on (a) evolving needs and (b) the distribution of learners across program types.Program Support (20%):
+ The Global Education Coordinator serves on the Global Education Advisory Committee (GEAC) and participates in the review and vetting of faculty-led programs.
+ The Global Education Coordinator enrolls students into global studies programs and works closely with OGE Program Managers to ensure timely and complete student applications.
+ Utilizes Terra Dotta daily to assist with building program applications, managing existing student applications and enrollment measures, preparing promotional materials, and assisting with risk appeals.File and Records Management (10%):
+ The Global Education Coordinator works closely with Global Education staff and the OIA Finance and Human Resources Unit to ensure student records and billing are accurate.
+ Ensures detailed and comprehensive files and records which are essential for operations, analysis, and review of operations.
+ The Global Education Coordinator may also assist in reviewing program satisfaction surveys and prepare analyses of programs and other data to identify areas of strength and aspects in need of improvement.Program Promotion (10%):
+ The Global Education Coordinator is responsible for assisting with marketing and promoting study abroad programs. Duties in this area may include assisting with planning and execution of study abroad fairs and campus events, social media marketing and electronic marketing through websites and web promotion, and leading information sessions in campus classroom settings.
+ Provides timely and pertinent program updates and reminders to campus academic advisors and identify departmental-level avenues for reaching students.Risk Management (10%):
+ The Global Education Coordinator serves on the campus International Risk Management Committee (IRMC), which sets campus policy for international travel and oversees global incident response.
+ Assumes periodic responsibility for the OGE "duty phone," which provides 24/7 emergency support while programs are abroad. **Qualifications you already possess (Minimum Qualifications)**
+ Bachelor's degree in any discipline from an accredited college or university.

Summary:
Coordinates activities and flow of work for an assigned function or area.
Responsibilities:
Prioritizes multiple tasks and projects to ensure timely completion. Delegates and assigns work commensurate with knowledge, skill and experience, and ensures the work is performed appropriately.
Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to assist with problem identification and resolution, cost containment issues, implementation of new services, and systems/performance measures.
Facilitates the development, implementation and evaluation of program or area services and initiatives. Facilitates the development of practice standards and measurable outcomes based on performance evaluation and research.
Serves as a resource to staff regarding departmental/area policies, procedures and services.
Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
- State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). May require valid driver's license.
- 2 years of related experience.
- BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
