About the Role: As an In-Home Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in the Los Angeles, including Beverly Hills, CA.
Details:
- In-Person Tutoring in Beverly Hills, CA
- Earn $25-$35 per hour
- Choose from Before & Afterschool Hours or weekends (~10-20 hours per month)
Your Responsibilities:
- Conduct engaging 1:1 tutoring sessions for students with special education needs.
- Develop personalized lesson plans and strategies that align with each student’s IEP.
- Adapt materials, assessments, and teaching methods to fit the unique learning styles and needs of each student.
- Track and document student progress, making adjustments to teaching methods as necessary.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and special education teams for a cohesive learning experience.
- Keep open communication with parents or guardians, discussing student progress and addressing concerns.
- Foster a safe and inclusive environment that supports emotional and behavioral growth.
- Stay up to date on the latest trends and best practices in special education and incorporate them into your lessons.

TreePeople is an environmental nonprofit organization that is mobilizing people, business, philanthropists, and public agencies to work together to create green, resilient communities by planting trees, capturing rainwater, greening schools, and providing fun environmental educational activities. We inspire, engage, and support the community to increase the urban tree canopy and address climate threats and environmental justice in Los Angeles and across the region.
The Education and Outdoor Equity Program Manager oversees TreePeople’s various environmental education programs. This role manages a team, leads program implementation, and builds partnerships to expand environmental education access in middle schools across Los Angeles County.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage members of the Middle School team by providing ongoing mentorship to implement the vision, goals, and deliverables of multiple grants that serve secondary schools/districts.
Lead management and execution of Tasks 1-3, 5, 7-12, 14-15 of the Generation Earth contract.
Establish clear performance and professional development goals for each team member, deliver actionable feedback, and implement effective corrective assessments to support successful project execution, contract compliance, program quality, team efficiency, and staff development and retention.
Oversee daily operations of the Middle School team, ensuring effective use of tools, accurate
data collection and tracking, and adherence to all operational procedures. Responsibilities
include maintaining up-to-date systems and regularly updating standard operating procedure
(SOP) documentation.
Exhibit strong fiscal responsibility by managing annual budgets, completing monthly budget
reconciliations, and providing support with financial reporting and expense tracking
Manage program evaluation and oversee data collection processes, ensuring timely and
accurate data entry by Middle School team members.
Assist in professional report writing by preparing detailed and accurate data reports,
compiling supporting evidence, and reviewing report narratives for clarity and consistency.
Ensure compliance with school district requirements by tracking completion of Mandated
Reporter, NOLS Wilderness First Aid, and Outdoor Recreation Leadership trainings.
Responsibilities also include scheduling LiveScan appointments for team members and
managing other compliance-related tasks.
Recruit and hire new staff members as necessary.
Support the development and implementation of a comprehensive outreach plan that
supports equitable programmatic distribution across TreePeople and funder priority regions.
Participate and represent TreePeople at meetings, fundraising, and community events.
Maintain partnerships with local community-based organizations, school districts, and other community stakeholders to expand TreePeople’s social and environmental impact.
Present and facilitate information sharing in front of public audiences.
Support the production of high-caliber and professional memorandums, correspondence, and reports.
Support TreePeople in the development and delivery of special projects and events as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Strong foundation of environmental education concepts and best practices, including the
Next Generation Science Standards as well as place-based, experiential, and social
emotional learning.
Demonstrated experience with staff supervision, project management, and working with
schools and/or school districts on environmental projects.
Should have demonstrated experience supporting equity, inclusion, and cultural
relevance.
Commitment to improving the environment through education.
Proven understanding of local ecological systems and awareness of current environmental issues impacting diverse communities throughout Southern California, including the impacts of urban development and green solutions, plus Countywide implementation of resolutions on climate literacy and/or sustainability.
Must be able to work well both independently and on a team.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills: engaging, listening, public speaking, and writing.
High computer literacy, including familiarity with Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, Salesforce, Asana, and other internet-based programs.
The ability and willingness to visit school sites across L.A. County and communicate with
school district personnel, administrators, educators, and youth via telephone, email and fax. This includes having a valid California Driver License and reliable transportation.
Preference will be given to candidates fluent in Spanish.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, this position requires standing (mostly as a presenter),
walking, driving, as well as the ability to lift 25 pounds.
