Currently, we’re in need of a Special Education Teacher to work in a school located in Gages Lake, Illinois.
Schools Special Education Teacher Contract Details:
- $44.50 – $8 per hour
- 41-week contracts
- 3,000 assignment bonus available *conditions apply; ask recruiter for details
- Hours: full-time
- Deliver specialized support, instruction, and advocacy for students with disabilities in a manner that is conducive to academic and personal development.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members and student guardians to develop and implement effective Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Participate in IEP meetings and work closely with multidisciplinary teams to support each student’s goals
- Complete and implement lesson plans.
- Document progress of students and develop data collection procedures
- Multi-categorical/Cross-categorical, intellectual, learning, emotional, and/or behavioral disability special education certifications may be acceptable
Types of classroom/assignment options:
- Early childhood, elementary, middle, high, or alternative schools
- Pull out/push in services, co-teaching, inclusion classroom, resource classroom, or self-contained classroom
- Low incidence or high incidence

- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university related area
- Must have a Professional Educator License (PEL) from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE)
- Teaching Certification with Schools Special Education Endorsement
- Special Education Teaching Endorsement must meet position requirements
- Multicategorical/Crosscategorical, intellectual, learning, and/or emotional disability special education certifications may be accepted

Overview
Eligible for Heartland Community College Students ONLY
The Education Stipend will be issued as a one-time payment of $1,900 and will be considered taxable income.
This is a education stipend opportunity. Upon completion of the Heartland Community College CNA program, education stipend recipients will enter as Patient Care Technician or other role requiring a CNA certification at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center.
The Patient Care Technician functions as a member of the Patient Care Team and provides appropriate safe basic care to patients. Cares provided are determined based on the ages of the patients served. Basic care includes taking vital signs, assisting patients with activities of daily living, specimen collection, and observation of patients for physical/emotional changes. Other duties include recording pertinent information in patient charts, communicating with other Patient Care Team members to ensure continuity of care, and functioning as a Behavioral Health Monitor. Behavioral health Monitors are responsible for providing safe, appropriate, and timely monitoring of the medical patient. Duties may vary according to department expectations and needs.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
To qualify for this education stipend, recipients must enroll in the Heartland Community College CNA Program. Recipients will have a 2 year work commitment to OSF St. Joseph Medical Center working as a Patient Care Technician. The required qualifications for our Patient Care Technicians are as follows:
- CNA-Certified Nurses Assistant
- CPR American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS
- High School Diploma or GED
- Six months experience in a clinical healthcare environment
- Six months experience in supporting physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of patients
