HIRING - Special Education Teacher

At The Arc Wayne of Newark, NY, we are currently hiring a full-time Special Education Teacher for our special education program, at Roosevelt Children's Center. The teacher will be responsible for the planning and implementation of individualized special education programs in a preschool classroom.

THE LIFE AS A SPECIAL ED TEACHER

In this role, you will provide a developmentally appropriate preschool experience to maximize skill development consistent with a High Scope approach; will supervise teacher aides and 1:1/1:2 teacher aides while demonstrating a leadership role in a classroom team. You will facilitate team meetings, participate in staff development training and will complete preschool paperwork. You will also plan and implement individualized special education programs to meet students' goals as outlined on IEPs.

Roosevelt Children's Center has a long history as a highly respected, innovative special education and therapy provider for children birth through age 4. We provide integrated and non-integrated preschool and Early Intervention classrooms for children with and without special needs. Our extraordinary dedication and expertise in guiding healthy development for children is well known throughout the area. Roosevelt Children's Center serves families and children in Wayne, Ontario, Monroe, Cayuga, Seneca and Yates Counties.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Must possess one of the following education/credentials:

• B.S. in Special Education-Provisional Certification Area N-12, working toward Permanent Certification or,
• B.S. in Special Education-Initial Certification Area-Birth-Grade 2, working toward Professional Certification

Experience:

• Experience with young children, 3 to 4 years old, with disabilities preferred
• Some lifting may be required

Pay Range (Depends on Education): 41,281.92 - 50, 371.37

About the Role

The Program Director will manage internal planning, development and execution for programs/projects within the scope of work and according to Medical Education workflow for assigned accounts; collaborate with all core and extended team members as well as other OH disciplines and vendors as needed. Specific duties will vary based on client need and depending on team structure.

What You'll Do

Program Management

• Direct/coordinate with internal team members on the following related tasks for specific programs assigned:
• Develop/maintain timelines, provide professional communication to all appropriate team members relating to specific accounts
• Help coordinate faculty/KOL (Key Opinion Leader), /KOL conference calls/Teams or Zoom meetings,
• Manage timelines internally, with client, and with faculty/KOLs when applicable, draft faculty correspondences including but not limited to invitations, confirmations, event reminders, if required
• Liaise/coordinate with clients' preferred vendors to execute print pieces, live/virtual events
• Work with clients' meeting planning vendor when needed to ensure appropriate audiovisual support for live/virtual events, adequate function space needs, live/virtual event agendas, timing , and Transfer of Value (TOV) within clients' system, if applicable
• Create/oversee the development, production and delivery of all materials for live or virtual events
• Review/approve all elements to ensure appropriate routing, track and manage incorporation of client and MLR (Medical, Legal, Regulatory) Review comments and approvals
• As applicable, participate in client meetings to discuss project status, etc.

Program Financial Management

• Monitor budgets, document financial status on status reports along with Program Coordinator, and initiate budget discussions with team members during weekly status meetings
• Attend monthly finance meetings with Account and Finance

Program Time Management

• Ensure that Program Coordinator moves all program materials to appropriate team members (including but not limited to Medical Writer, Medical Director, Program Director, Account Director Art, Editor, Studio, and Production) in an orderly and timely manner
• Meet with Program Coordinator regularly to review/update status of active programs/projects/timelines/financials
• Lead weekly internal status meetings and/or support Program Coordinator in leading internal hot sheet meetings to ensure alignment on projects, timelines, financials
• Schedule and facilitate kick-off, run-through, and slide review meetings to provide internal teams with necessary direction

Problem Solving

• Proactively identify and manage problems with ensuring projects are delivered on time and on budget
• Discuss with Account, recommendations and possible solutions specific to issues on assigned programs

Managerial Direction

• Exemplify a high standard of quality within your assigned team(s)
• Create an integrated, effective and accountable team environment that fosters a solid support structure for client satisfaction

What You'll Need

• Background and experience in program management in medical education or advertising
• Excellent organizational skills
• Appropriate familiarity with PhRMA guidelines and general industry standards including client MLR submission platforms ( Veeva, GCMA etc.)
• Experience/knowledge with Smartsheet and Workfront applications as well as Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to maintain flexibility and teamwork in a fast-paced, work environment

• This position is subject to working in high-security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy." SCOPE OF INTERN WORK :

The International Rescue Committee (IRC), works in the United States welcomes newly arrived refugees and immigrants, supports them in their resettlement, and provides holistic services to help them build new lives in their communities.

The Adult Education Data Intern will acquire hands-on experience in collecting both qualitative and quantitative data. Responsibilities include managing and analyzing the collected data, as well as performing data entry tasks using IRC’s internal client case management system, Efforts to Outcome (ETO), and the New Jersey Office of Refugee (NJOR)’s case management system, Client Track (CT). Additionally, the intern will assist in developing operational workflows and utilizing Power Automate to enhance data collection efficiency.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Participate in ETO and CT training to learn how to use the platform efficiently.

• Record English Language Training (ELT) Program related case notes, including attendance records, assessment records, and other case management case notes on ETO.

• Record ELT project enrollment note on ETO and CT.

• Record case notes for other education programs under Adult Education Department.

• Perform data entries, file, and assemble information for comprehensive reports in the internal databases (ETO), Client Track (CT) and Microsoft Excel.

• Create, collect and analyze course feedback surveys.

• Assist in creating semi-annual and annual reports in Microsoft Excel.

• Verify and correct data discrepancies or errors to ensure data quality.

• Utilize Power Automate to build new workflows for the Adult Education Department.

· Use PowerBI for data analysis to increase program quality and impact.

• Organize and maintain files and records.

• Support other assigned tasks for the adult education department.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES :

1. The intern will gain proficiency in using various funder-mandated databases to collect and evaluate data related to the resettlement outcomes of IRC clients, with a particular focus on Education.
2. The intern will gain firsthand experience in the development of systems to maximize operational effectiveness.
3. The intern will learn organizational communication and time management skills.

REQUIREMENTS :

· Volunteers must be based in the U.S. Interns must be based in US, must be a US citizen or have US work authorization, must be enrolled in post-secondary institution or have graduated from a post-secondary institution within last 2 years.

· Graduate or undergraduate students who are passionate about data management, or hold degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems or related field.

· Experience (or a willingness to learn) Microsoft systems including: Power Automate and PowerBi.

· Experience in using Box and Microsoft Apps such as Excel is strongly preferred.

· Must convey confidence, have effective communication skills, and exhibit excellent attention to detail.

· Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.

· Demonstrate patience, understanding, flexibility, and a consistently positive attitude.

· Willing to learn about IRC history, philosophy, global work, and local efforts.
