We are currently looking to fill an Education Manager role at our Midway office.

SALARY: The average starting salary for this position will fall in the range of $68,000 and $2,000 annually. Where candidates fall in this range will be based on skill and experience level.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Implement policies, procedures, and standards relevant to Early Head Start and Preschool for All and Prevention Initiative programs (EHS/HS/PFA/PI).
• Implements the processes for on-going monitoring of all programs to include quarterly classroom observations, review of files, review of lesson plans, review and follow-up on all data.
• Monitors, trains and provides technical support to Early Learning classroom teachers in the implementation of the curriculum and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Supports the implementation of educational services using internal program plans, policies, and procedures based on the program Performance Standards, requirements and regulations.
• Reviews and compiles all required reports and documentation relevant to content area (education and disabilities) in collaboration with supervisors, program managers and other teaching staff.
• Works cooperatively with other Early Childhood staff and parents to integrate medical, dental, health, social services, mental health and special needs of children in the classroom environment and curriculum.
• Attends multidisciplinary meetings as needed.
• Assists in the recruitment, hiring, orientation and on-going professional development of teaching staff to ensure compliance with all funding sources.
• Monitors data on a regular basis and reports are generated for the Director of Early Learning and Head Start Oversight Board (HSOB) as required.
• Assures the screening and assessment of all children are completed within the time frames established per standards and ensures that all assessments are recorded in the program's electronic recordkeeping databases.
• Meets with teaching teams or cohorts, develops and tracks professional development plans for each teaching staff member as warranted.
• In collaboration with other staff and the Policy Council (PPC), participates in the design and implementation of the annual program self-assessment.
• Assists in developing procedures for transitioning children into and out of the early childhood programs and assures that such procedures are implemented throughout the program.
• Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:

• Demonstrates competence in the principles of EHS/HS and PFA/PI. Must be able to coach and mentor teachers, provide technical assistance to ensure compliance.
• Demonstrates an understanding in the current principals of developmentally appropriate practice, bilingual education, inclusion, disabilities and cultural competency.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master's degree in early childhood education, Child Development, or related field with experience teaching preschool-age children preferred .
• Bachelor's in early childhood education child development or related field required .
• Professional Educator License (PEL) required.
• English as a Second Language endorsement or enrolled in a program required .
• Special Education Approval or enrolled in a program required .
• 3+ years of experience in early childhood education with increasing levels of administrative responsibility required .
• 1+ year of the required experience must be at the supervisory level in an early childhood setting, or licensed day care center required.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Satisfactorily pass all screenings and criminal background checks.

TRANSPORTATION/TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

• Driving for work required with a personally owned vehicle. Travel between sites required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is required to sit and stand for sustained periods of time, frequently talk, hear, use hands and fingers to feel, handle, and operate objects or controls, and occasionally stand, bend, stretch, stoop, kneel and crouch. The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, and viewing a computer terminal.
