The purpose of the Education Clerical volunteer supports this by assisting the staff of the nursing education with routine clerical tasks in various offices and departments. This work may consist of typing, filing, recording, copying/ duplicating, data entry/analysis, collating and answering phones. The volunteer does not have to be able to do all functions; rather, assignments are given to suit the volunteers' ability. Normal business office etiquette is observed and confidentiality is of the utmost importance.

Depending on students' unique health conditions, you may be required to provide a wide range of care that could include respiratory treatments or maintenance of equipment such as catheters, gastric tubes, tracheostomies, or ventilators. You will also be required to manage the administration of medication, both for routine and emergency purposes. CSNs are required to ensure necessary paperwork and authorization is in place to store and administer students' medication.
