**Duties and Responsibilities**

This is a grant-funded position with a fixed term of 12 months, contingent on the availability of funding.

The Nutrition Education Manager oversees the implementation of the SNAP-Ed program, leading a small

team to deliver evidence-based nutrition education and Policy, Systems, and Environmental (PSE) change strategies in partnership with community organizations. This role ensures program effectiveness, grant compliance, and long-term sustainability planning in alignment with CAP's mission.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Team Supervision
  • Provide direction on priorities, procedures, and expectations.
  • Establish clear goals for the team aligned with CAP's mission and strategic plan.
  • Performance management: providing ongoing feedback, conducting employee
    • evaluations, team development, and handling progressive performance issues.
  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff.
  • Provides coaching, guidance, and performance management to staff.
Program Strategy and Implementation
  • Oversee the planning and delivery of all SNAP-Ed activities.
  • Conduct assessment and evaluations to track demographics and program outcomes.
  • Collect and analyze data on participants, program effectiveness, and impact.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures.
  • Support department with caseload assignments and provide coverage when necessary.
Lead Policy, Systems and Environment (PSE) Initiatives
  • Serve as the lead on all PSE changes strategies.
  • Design PSE interventions that are low-cost, scalable, and sustainable.
  • Provide technical assistance and consultation to community partners including schools, food pantries, nonprofit service providers, and other community partners.
    • Build partner capacity to maintain PSE changes independently by providing tools, training, and implementation support tailored to their long-term goals.
    • Represent organization in community conversations, coalitions, and committees.
Program Outreach
  • Build relationships with community leaders, schools, and health organizations to promote the program.
  • Manage and track agreements with eligible community partners.
  • Cultivate internal and external partnerships, support, or alternative funding streams (e.g., local health initiatives, school wellness grants, private foundations) that could sustain or expand nutrition education efforts
  • Document and communicate success stories, outcomes, and return-on-investment of nutrition education programming.
Grant Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with SNAP-Ed grant requirements, including allowable activities, documentation standards, and reporting.
  • Monitor program outputs and outcomes using state-required reporting systems.
  • Track expenditures and ensure alignment with grant-approved budget.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree required; nutrition science or dietetics emphasis.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • 2-5 years' experience with program management and operations, including budget management and reporting preferred.

Most MHS graduates are first generation college students. This position is responsible for supporting approximately 200 college students at a variety of college campuses across the state and country.
The Specialist is responsible for:
+ Provide academic advising and academic progress monitoring for caseload of graduates attending post-secondary programs (reviewing academic schedules, academic progress, utilization of scholarship funding, and more).
+ Assist with graduate retention and persistence efforts, tracking at-risk students for focused advising and assisting with special programming for student retention
+ Maintain accurate records to monitor student progress and identify strategies for continuous improvement.
+ Utilize programmatic data and results in determining students' academic performance
+ Partnering with graduates' institutions of learning to ensure graduates are actively participating in relevant programming to ensure student success.
+ Proactively building positive and trusting relationships with recent graduates to foster transparent conversations enabling the Specialist to provide meaningful guidance, direction, and support in a timely manner to graduates.

**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree required - Higher Education or School Counseling preferred.

The Education Coordinator, under the direction of the CMG Director of Medical Education, organizes, implements, and manages all Community Medical Group Clerkships with all departments at the Penn State Health St. Joseph and Lancaster Medical Centers. Location: Women and Babies Hospital - Lancaster, PA
Schedule: PRN - Hours of work may be varied based on the childbirth class schedule. Classes are held on varied weekends and evenings.
A Brief Overview
Provide direct client instructions to increase awareness and knowledge of evidenced based childbirth and baby care related topics for the community.
What you will do
+ Teach childbirth classes using current curriculum
+ Establish and maintain an in-depth knowledge of concepts related to childbirth, baby care and post-partum care for women.
+ Participate as an active team member who works closely with peers to enhance childbirth education.
+ Identify learning needs of clients and adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of class participants.
+ Act as a role model for healthy lifestyle behaviors - exercise, proper nutrition, screenings, etc.
+ Provide courteous, prompt and caring service to staff and clients.
+ Create a comfortable and safe environment for expectant patients to approach birth with confidence
+ Quickly engage and maintain class participants interest.
+ Complete paperwork promptly and possess ability to stay organized while facilitating multiple classes.
+ Prepare and organize class materials
Qualifications
+ 1+ years A minimum of one (1) year clinical experience in labor and delivery and or post partum nursing and or an office obstetrical nurse.
+ Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse, issued by the PA State Board of Nursing.
+ Current certification as a childbirth educator or willingness to obtain certification.
+ BSN

Responsible to manage and administer the Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) Program and maintain compliance with national education standards for the CPE programs. Recruit and hire student/intern and Residents for admission to Penn State Hershey CPE programs.
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):**
+ Masters degree of Divinity or equivalent required.
+ Three (3) years of clinical experience as a chaplain as well as previous administrative experience required.
+ Completion of an accredited Supervisory CPE Program required.
+ Must be A Board Certified Chaplain or in process of becoming Board Certified.
