The Application Analyst I - IS Education provides learning and development services to UHS Corporate and Acute Care facilities to increase the effectiveness of clinical and technical staff and ensure the delivery of quality healthcare services to all of its customers. Assists with training initiatives and projects and provides ongoing support for assigned projects and applications. Works in a collaborative environment with facility staff, providers, subject matter experts (SMEs), technical experts and business leaders to analyze learning needs and develop interventions and/or deliver learning as required. This includes, but is not limited to, classroom and virtual delivery. Assists in configuring the Cerner training domain to provide a lifelike environment and experience. Key Responsibilities include: Support production of training materials: Assists in the development of curriculum for new hire and ongoing training. This includes manuals, job aids, tip sheets, webinars, computer-based training modules and other materials as requested Updates training curriculum based on system/business needs and communicates changes to all affected parties. Uses proper business writing skills to effectively communicate concepts in a concise, easy to read, and understandable manner. Adheres to appropriate adult learning principles. Performs quality review of new or updated training materials. Establishes and maintains regular communications with education team. Conducts Training: Prepares training materials and tracks registration/attendance for upcoming classes. Works with facility staff to ensure classroom is available and ready for training Conducts classroom, virtual, group, or one on one training as dependent on specific learning requirements. Training System Maintenance/Support: Participates in preparing the training systems for classes as needed. Performs testing and maintenance of the training systems. Adheres to UHS Service Level and Change Management Policies. Researches and resolves Customer Support Center Tickets relating to the Training system, Training Materials, or Educational needs. Administration and Oversight: Maintains Service Excellence principles. Prepares and submits status reports to supervisor as required. Properly documents updates to training materials and file appropriately. Keeps management well informed of activities, needs, problems. Updates project plans in online Project Management system. Monitors and updates service requests in the ticket tracking system assigned by the UHS Customer Support Center. Other Training-related assignments: Attends classes to assist more experienced trainer as needed. Collaborates with project managers on special training projects. Keeps current on relevant System Updates, clinical workflow changes, and release notes. Performs other tasks as required by manager. Qualifications Position Requirements: Associate's Degree required. Bachelor's Degree preferred. 5-8 years of related experience required. Experience delivering training via various methods (eLearning, classroom, webinar). **Education / Experience**
Associate or bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Education preferred. **OR**
Two-three years or more experience in medical or academic setting accepted in lieu of degree.

**Major Job Duties/Responsibilities**
? Coordinate the schedules of all rotating medical students in the market.
? Assist in the administration and coordination of undergraduate medical education programs.
? Ensure medical student compliance with established policies and procedures.
? Compile and submit reports to accrediting bodies in conjunction with Department of Medical Education leaders.
? Initiation and administration of medical student budget, including projections of future needs.
? Documentation of medical education training conducted at the facility, including documents as required by education staff and completion of evaluation forms for signature by appropriate medical staff, maintenance of all medical student personnel records including confidential evaluation and counseling records.
? Compile data and prepare reports. Utilizes different medical school software to maintain database materials regarding medical student evaluations.
? Plan, organize, and schedule new medical student orientation along with Department of Medical Education leaders.
? Liaison and communication with all appropriate institutional offices and affiliated medical schools as well as teaching faculty and staff.
? Review of internal procedures related to all medical student-related functions and assist in implementation of new procedures as appropriate.
? Cross covers Department of Education and works as a team player for the enhancement of all educational programs. Support co-workers by offering assistance, encouragement and mentoring.
? Performs miscellaneous duties to support the Department of Medical Education leaders as assigned.

St Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital 36 hours
Facilitates DSMES in accordance with the American Diabetes Association's recognized program standards. Provides Medical Nutrition Therapy both individually and in group settings at all Mercy Youngstown locations as needed. Evaluates quality and outcomes of the DSMES program. Collaborates with other departments to provide nutrition education to poor and underserved populations. Trains and directs team dietitians and support staff in daily tasks, policies and projects pertaining to the implementation of the DSMES program. Develops and updates curriculum based on a strategy to have consistent education at all three Youngstown locations. The participants are primarily outpatient or community based, but on occasion may be inpatient.
**Essential Job Functions**
+ Participates in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of educational activities and participants' needs.
+ Demonstrates effective classroom and 1:1 clinical teaching skills
+ Demonstrates professional accountability, growth and development
+ Evaluates the quality and outcomes of DSMES program and all QI/PI projects.
+ Collaborates and works with healthcare professionals and departments to promotes DSMES.

+ Completes a minimum of 15 hours of CEUs in diabetes yearly as well as all mandatory learning required by Mercy Health.
