Designs the ongoing formal training sessions for learning and development program at the center for learning and innovation and other venues.
Job Responsibility
+ Aids the development of education materials and manuals; participates in the design and development of learning experiences; instruction strategies for new and existing training programs.
+ Designs training sessions.
+ Coordinates training program schedules with participants, instructors and facility management.
+ Designs the front end insurance plan code maintenance process; communicates insurance information to staff on a regular basis.
+ Develops the communication of educational programs to appropriate departments.
+ Helps in conducting needs assessment within the organization to determine direction of training programs.
+ Ensures learning facilities are set-up and ready for training program events including equipment; prepares and distributes training aids; instruction materials, handouts, evaluation forms, and visual aids.

Job Qualification
+ Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.

**Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):**
Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Two (2) years of full time related work experience in conducting health education, promotion and/or outreach (student experience may be considered). Experience working with a college or university population or with emerging adults.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
Master's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Public Health, Higher Education, Social Work or related field. Additional years (3 ) of full time related work experience in conducting health education, promotion, and/or outreach (student experience may be considered). Experience leading peer education programs, including curriculum development, training, and supervising peer educators. CHES or CPH certification. Experience working with a diverse population.
**Brief Description of Duties:**
The Health Education Specialist will use a data-driven and evidence-informed approach to deliver comprehensive outreach and health education programming. This role encompasses large scale and group-based outreach, peer education and supervision, collaboration with campus and community partners, and professional development.
The incumbent plays a crucial role as a team member within the overall campus health and wellness departments. In this capacity, they collaborate with colleagues across various units to enhance the effectiveness and integration of health, wellness, and prevention services. This includes actively participating in divisional meetings, sharing insights, and contributing to collaborative decision-making processes. The incumbent fosters a cooperative and supportive environment, ensuring seamless teamwork and alignment with the shared goals and objectives of campus health and wellness initiatives. This position may be required to provide support in other areas of student health, wellness, and prevention services, as needed.
**Large Scale Health Education & Outreach Programming**
+ Coordinate, implement and assess evidence-based health education programming for the campus community through collaborative, attractive, large scale events including but not limited to:
+ Awareness month/week/day programming such as Overdose Awareness Day, Suicide Prevention Month, Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Sexual Assault Awareness Month, STI Awareness Week and Alcohol Awareness Month.
+ Be Well Fest - a yearly event aimed at recognizing patient appreciation and increasing knowledge around the on-campus health and wellness resources available to students.
+ Health and Wellness Fairs - semesterly fairs that provide students an opportunity to learn about and meet campus and community providers / resources they can use to address their health and wellness.
+ New Student Orientation - assist in coordinating and implementing all aspects of the required and optional health education programming for new students.
+ This position is based on Stony Brook University's main (West) campus but will require occasional work/travel to the East (hospital) and Southampton campuses as the position serves all Stony Brook students. Travel to regional, state or national professional development opportunities and/or training may also be required at times.
**Smaller Scale / Group Health Education & Outreach Programming**
+ Provide the campus community with tabling, training and workshops tailored for college students and their health needs. This will require extensive collaboration with student clubs and organizations and professional staff from departments across the University.
+ Workshops - create, implement and assess educational workshops, both stand alone and series, that address topics such as healthy screen use, mental health, safer sex, alcohol, cannabis, problem gambling, sexual assault prevention and survivor support.
+ Trainings - assist in coordinating and conducting bystander intervention training for students, faculty and staff including but not limited to Red Watch Band, Green Dot, QPR, CPR and Narcan/Naloxone.
+ Tabling - coordinate and conduct health and wellness educational tabling across main, east and Southampton campus.
**Supervision & Peer Education**
+ As part of the CPO team, assist with the recruitment, application, on-boarding and training of all peer educators.
+ Oversee a cohort of peer educators focused on health and wellness outreach and/or targeted outreach based on the needs of the department and division.
+ Supervise paid peer educators (Student Assistants) as needed.
**Health Communication**
+ Contribute to the department's health education efforts by creating, implementing and assessing multi-media health communication content.
+ Social Media - create content when needed to address upcoming and prevalent health and wellness issues within the college student population. Coordinate the department's posting on various social media channels.
+ Resource Development - create new educational resources aimed at increasing knowledge about health topics and associated resources. This includes but is not limited to the creation of flyers, infocards, calendars, videos, tutorials and bulletin boards.
**Data Gathering/Evaluation and Strategy Development**
+ In collaboration with the CPO team, assist in preparing and maintaining registration forms for departmental programming, evaluate trends in attendance to help determine best use of resources.
**Professional Development and Committee Involvement:**
+ Participate in opportunities that promote their learning, growth, and development (i.e., classes, training, committees, webinars).
+ Contribute to the Division of Student Affairs and Stony Brook University by attending and/or supporting events, activities, and programs sponsored by areas within and outside of your department and/or unit (i.e., campus-wide traditions, events, programs).
+ Other duties or projects as assigned as appropriate to rank and departmental mission.

The Optum Health East region is seeking an experienced Part -Time clinician to support our Medicare risk adjustment education efforts. Working with the Medical Director for Risk Adjustment and the Chief Clinical and Value Officer in Optum East, this key physician will provide expertise in risk adjustment and clinical documentation education for the markets in the Optum Health East region. This role will be part of a team focused on supporting clinicians to provide the highest level of care possible.
This is a role that partners with external physicians and leaders and requires collaboration and the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization to ensure goals are met. This physician will be comfortable interacting daily with clinicians of all levels, as well as frontline clinicians and operational staff.
If you are willing to 2-3 days on site to various locations, you will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges. This is a Remote Field Base role
**Primary Responsibilities:**
+ Clinical risk adjustment and documentation education
+ Provides ongoing, targeted mentoring and education to physicians and APCs on appropriate diagnosis coding and supporting documentation including
+ Risk education sessions and materials for clinicians in both primary care and specialties
+ Organization-wide training on changes or updates to risk adjustment models
+ Programs designed to ensure all diagnosed conditions and appropriate codes are supported by documentation in the patient chart
+ Educates physicians and APCs to ensure appropriate practices related to risk adjustment activities, HEDIS measures and gaps in care throughout the market.
+ Works with the Medical Director, Risk Adjustment to establish a competency baseline for provider performance. Monitor the progress of providers receiving mentoring and develop tailored strategies to improve performance.
+ Informs physicians and APCs around year-over-year changes to the Medicare risk adjustment to provide thought leadership and assists in carrying out recommended actions.
+ Provides clinical support for embedded nurse practitioner programs.
+ Supports clinical documentation education program alignment and prioritization across the region.
+ Partnership with operational leaders:
+ Builds/maintains/manages market stakeholder relationships across multiple layers and functions.
+ Monitor wrap around programs for effectiveness and assist in coordination, adoption and resolving barriers as needed to achieve outcomes.
+ Participates in regulatory and accreditation activities, as applicable
+ Emotional maturity for effective change management
+ Establish solid and lasting, trust-based relationships within team and external partners
+ Foster exemplary teamwork and strengthen a culture of continuous improvement and accountability

+ Collaborates with other team members to align on meeting expectations and material preparation
+ Interacts with senior management by providing thoughtful analysis on key decision points to drive initiatives forward
+ - Local travel to provider locations as needed.

**Required Qualifications:**
+ M.D. or D.O. degree
+ Current unrestricted license to practice medicine
+ Board certified in Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine
+ 5+ years of clinical experience
+ Direct experience with Risk Adjustment diagnosis coding as a provider
+ Solid knowledge of electronic health records, including experience in chart review
+ Demonstrated ability to influence without authority
+ Demonstrated ability to successfully operate in a dynamic and changing environment
+ Demonstrated ability to implement complex programs and monitor implementation and necessary modifications
+ Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in an expedient and decisive manner

The salary range for this role is $104,500 to $156,000 annually based on Part-time employment. Salary Range is defined as total cash compensation at target. The actual range and pay mix of base and bonus is variable based upon experience and metric achievement. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
