MHS is seeking a Higher Education Support Specialist to inspire, advise, and guide recent MHS graduates throughout their pursuit of higher education degrees and certifications. The Specialist plays a key role in supporting and guiding recent graduates through their post-secondary experience to help increase their college persistence and completion rates. Most MHS graduates are first generation college students. This position is responsible for supporting approximately 200 college students at a variety of college campuses across the state and country.
The Specialist is responsible for:
+ Provide academic advising and academic progress monitoring for caseload of graduates attending post-secondary programs (reviewing academic schedules, academic progress, utilization of scholarship funding, and more).
+ Assist with graduate retention and persistence efforts, tracking at-risk students for focused advising and assisting with special programming for student retention
+ Maintain accurate records to monitor student progress and identify strategies for continuous improvement.
+ Utilize programmatic data and results in determining students' academic performance
+ Partnering with graduates' institutions of learning to ensure graduates are actively participating in relevant programming to ensure student success.
+ Proactively building positive and trusting relationships with recent graduates to foster transparent conversations enabling the Specialist to provide meaningful guidance, direction, and support in a timely manner to graduates.
+ Providing frequent, relevant, informative, and helpful outreach and updates to their graduate case load.
+ Visiting graduates on their post-secondary school campuses. (60% travel)
+ Periodically co-present in senior seminar courses teaching seniors about higher education and postsecondary success.
+ Collaborate with other MHS staff to organize special events, align efforts, and ensure continuity.
+ Pro-actively self-educate to ensure knowledge and strategies are current and best practices are being followed.
**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree required - Higher Education or School Counseling preferred.
+ Minimum of 3 years of experience in higher education, academic advising and/or working with first-generation college students.
+ Experience working with diverse and underrepresented populations.
+ Demonstrated success in inspiring & facilitating graduate success.
+ Exceptional interpersonal skills - including the ability to influence, lead, educate and collaborate.
+ Exceptional organizational and time management skills.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Education Coordinator, under the direction of the CMG Director of Medical Education, organizes, implements, and manages all Community Medical Group Clerkships with all departments at the Penn State Health St. Joseph and Lancaster Medical Centers. This role ensures the smooth operation of the PSCOM clerkship program, APP and GME clinical rotations. **Purpose:**
Responsible for a wide range of administrative activities associated with the training program and the program's overall educational environment to facilitate the achievement of defined program objectives. Partners with other program support areas and the Program Director to ensure that the training program is in full compliance with UPMC, UPMC Medical Education (ME), and Accrediting Body (ACMGE, AHSP, CODA, or CPME) policies and procedures. Residencies and Fellowships require different levels of oversight depending on the size of the training program. **Responsibilities:**
+ Utilize Residency Management system (Med Hub) to complete various tasks. Tasks may include entering rotation schedules, documenting PTO, LOAs, etc. in lieu of Kronos, monitoring work hour submissions by trainees, uploading required program documentation and policies, maintaining resident/fellow specific credentialing documentation, etc.
+ Prepare and maintain documentation related to program accreditation requirements (e.g., ACGME, ASHP, CODA or CPME) as well as specialty board requirements. Monitor completion of annual update submissions (e.g., Web ADS Annual Update, ACGME milestones, ACGME Trainee and Faculty Surveys, AMA FREIDA).
+ Coordinate and maintain documentation pertaining to the UPMC Medical Education Annual Program Oversight Review (APOR) and anticipated required documents that will be requested during accrediting body Site Visits.
+ Monitor the management of trainee, rotation, faculty, and program evaluations. o Ensure trainees receive documented evaluations at the end of each rotation. If rotations are longer than three (3) month periods, a trainee must have documented evaluations at a minimum of every ninety (90) days.
+ Coordinate Program Evaluation Committee (PEC) and Clinical Competency Committee (CCC) meetings including scheduling, preparing agenda, meeting materials, program/trainee evaluation analytics, and meeting minutes.

UPMC is hiring a Consumer Education Instructor for our CARES program in Harrisburg! This is a casual position, working on an as needed basis to lead community events and presentations across the UPMC Central footprint.
Purpose:
Responsible for providing instruction to consumers as directed by the consumer education program offered by the Department of Education.
Responsibilities:
+ Arrange to have peer review observation conducted annually. Submits peer review forms to Director, Education prior to annual evaluation.
