Duties and Responsibilities :
+ Prepares student education plans in consultation with parents and IEP team members.
+ Designs instruction, both individual and small group, which parallels the general education curriculum.
+ Serves as the coordinator of IEP implementation with general education staff.
+ Monitors student progress, participates in review and revision of student's IEP, as appropriate.
+ Maintains accurate student records
+ Mentors and supports teaching assistants who provide support to students with disabilities
+ Assess students' skills and educational needs and tracks student's performance
+ Communicates to maintain positive relationships with students and their parents
+ Follows School District policies and procedures
+ Other Special Education Teacher related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's Degree from accredited college or university - (emphasis in appropriate field preferred).
+ Transcripts Preferred.
+ State SPED Teacher Certification Required ; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching, Standard Secondary Teaching, and Standard Special Teaching preferred.
+ Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred.
+ Full command, verbal and written, of the English language.
+ Current TB test results and/or ability to take a PPD or chest X-ray.

- Delivers course material in accordance with the college curriculum.
- Fulfils administrative requirements for each course, including attendance, Student Learning Outcome (SLO) assessment data, posting grades in a timely manner, and

Provides professional leadership and support for clinical teaching faculty; serves as a mentor and facilitator for faculty assigned; and enables an environment which fosters creativity, responsiveness, and self-responsibility. Oversees, supervises and manages faculty and students assigned to clinical sites, makes phone or on site visits, mediates conflicts, establishes specific learning objectives, records attendance, and supervises clinical affiliations to ensure that the experience is adequate and achieves a satisfactory level of performance. Remains current in applicable program field, participates in faculty meetings, instructional seminars, and in-service training sessions. Participates in campus activities such as faculty meetings, student functions, graduation exercises, open houses, new student orientations, and advisory board meetings.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for developing and maintaining student clinical placements with identified facilities. Requests clinical placements, online and manually, and confirms.
- Advises the Campus Dean, Nursing of the general effectiveness of the clinical education portion of the program. Assesses and evaluates clinical sites to ensure that clinical objectives are met.
- Plans, coordinates, and manages faculty and students assigned to clinical facilities.
- Collects evaluation feedbacks from students, staff and Clinical sites. Ensures clinical faculty provides periodic feedback of clinical performance immediately after observation event and/or of overall student performance at midterm and end of semester.
- Orients students to clinical packets, health and safety requirements.
- Assists Campus Dean, Nursing with strategic planning for clinical relationships and placements.
- Works with Registrar for student's clinical placement release in campus.
- Validates with clinical affiliate staff the effectiveness of student placement and progress in meeting mutually established objectives.
- Implements faculty feedback from clinical rotations. Evaluates the effectiveness of clinical experience. Disseminates information.
- Coordinates and provides orientation to new faculty regarding clinical facilities.
- Strives to develop strategic, enduring relationships with facilities that lead to outstanding placement opportunities to West Coast University graduates.
- Provides clinical instructors with training related to the program.
- Performs the on-site evaluation of Clinical Faculty and submits completed evaluation to Campus Dean, Nursing on time and with required level of quality.
- Coordinates a plan to best observe, instruct, and evaluate student's learning and clinical practical skills and faculty performance which includes a direct observation clinical assessment of skills in applicable setting for related area of instruction.
- Ascertains projections placements, staffing, student assignments for upcoming terms. Proactively leads development of sites to meet current and future placement needs.
- Identifies specialties; OB, PEDs. Psych., Adv., MS, Public Health.
- Identifies clinical sites and creates schedules which support the student clinical requirements.
- Creates reports for facilities.
- Strengthens relationships with facilities.
- Changes clinical placements (i.e. failing classes, last minute decisions, etc.) during the term.
- Establishes and maintains communication lines between the clinical facilities and staff as well as ACC where both institutions utilize sites.
- Supervises faculty and students completing clinical rotations, including phone or on site visits.
- Resolves conflicts / problems in the clinical setting with faculty.
- Creates budget projections for clinical maintenance.
- Collects and maintains appropriate documentation related to clinical education, such as health forms, CPR certification, student evaluations and site evaluations.
- Completes agency preapproval required forms to meet BRN and other regulatory needs.
- Works toward a consistent approach towards the management and development of clinical relationship vis-�- vis other West Coast University campuses.
- Maintains accurate clinical site information database, including contact information and specific contractual agreement termination and expiration dates, and initiates renewal process timely.
- Works with clinical affiliate staff to clarify policies and procedures specific to facility. Apprises clinical affiliate staff of student objectives in each clinical area.
- Attends Advisory meetings to network and derive solutions to mutual concerns.
- Participates in professional development and organizations in order to maintain an understanding of current ideas, research and practices, attends meetings, workshops and seminars to enrich personal growth, knowledge and skill in management development.
- Assists with Identifying and developing new professional and nursing relationships for additional/new clinical sites.
- Develops and maintains professional working relationships with hospital, medical office, and clinical site directors under current contract to the schools.
- Evaluates insurance and liability issues related to clinical sites, and provides appropriate documentation.
- Inputs faculty payroll hours (as back-up).
- Participates in providing schedule for Sim / Skills Lab.
- Finds back up coverage for faculty absences / vacation.
- Apprises clinical affiliate staff of student objectives in each clinical area.

Required Education, Certifications & Licensures:
- Master's or higher degree from an accredited college or university which includes course work in nursing, education or administration required.
- A current unencumbered Registered Nurse License required.
- Must have approval by the Board of Registered Nursing before assuming the role of Nursing Instructor.
- Current CPR Card.
Required Experience & Skills:
- Leadership knowledge in the program field to cultivate a learner-centered environment and to foster excellence.
- Knowledge in technological support and delivery of program area and services.
- Knowledge and evidence of strong supervisory and management skills as applicable to specialized program area.

Special Education Teacher (Mod/Sev)
The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator provides quality services to special education students, kindergarten through grade 12. The Special Education Teacher has a commitment to team participation in planning and implementation of student programs including special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation with general education staff.
Location: Colton, CA
Pay: $0- 65/Hr (Negotiable)
Schedule: Monday - Friday
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Prepares student education plans in consultation with parents and department team members
· Supports learning for students who have a wide range of learning, mental, emotional, and physical disabilities.
· Designs instruction, both individual and small group, which parallels the general education curriculum
· Assists parents, administrators, testing specialists, social workers, and professionals to develop educational plans designed to promote students' educational, physical, and social development
· Prepares materials and classrooms for class activities
· Serves as the coordinator of individualize education program (IEP) implementation with general education staff
· Monitors student progress, participates in review and revision of student's IEP, as appropriate
· Maintains accurate student records
· Mentors and supports teaching assistants who provide support to students with disabilities
· Supports students in preparation for grade transitions and preparing for life skills
· Assess students' skills and educational needs and tracks student's performance
· Discusses students' progress with their other teachers
· Communicates to maintain positive relationships with students and their parents
· Follows School District policies and procedures
Minimum Requirements:
· Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university preferred
· Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations
· Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred
· State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred
· State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred
· State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred
· Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred
· Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
· Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable
· Current CPR if applicable
· TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
· Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
· Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
· Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site
· Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
· Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language required
· Computer proficiency required
· Must be at least 18 years of age
