Position Overview:
As a Design Team Member, you will travel to salons Monday through Thursday to educate and inspire stylists with our cutting-edge techniques and products. This role requires a passion for teaching, exceptional communication skills, and a commitment to fostering growth in others. You will also participate in annual training in Florida, ensuring you stay at the forefront of industry trends. You must work on Friday behind the chair to stay skilled in your craft!
Key Responsibilities:
- Travel to assigned salons to provide hands-on education and training to stylists.
- Conduct workshops and demonstrations on products, techniques, and best practices.
- Collaborate with the design team to develop educational materials and resources.
- Provide ongoing support and mentorship to salon staff.
- Participate in annual training in Florida for complete onboarding and professional development.
- Stay updated on industry trends, techniques, and product knowledge to effectively educate others through our own certification process.
- Audit and Coach on the core practices of LNJ
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience behind the chair as a stylist.
- Current and valid state cosmetology license.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Passion for teaching and mentoring others.
- Ability to travel frequently and adapt to various salon environments.
- Positive attitude and a team-oriented mindset.
- Some overnight travel required.

+ Coordinate and support medical education courses, events, and training programs.
+ Coordinate and support OI equipment logistics at local, regional, and national events.
+ Develop a foundational understanding of products, procedures, customers, and the competitive landscape.
+ Assist in designing and delivering engaging educational programs that align with business strategy.

The primary goal is to improve the success of students with disabilities in school through service and consultation with students, teachers, parents, administrators, and community agencies.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Masters Degree in social work required
Certification:
Michigan approval or eligible for approval as a school social worker and registered with Board of Social Work, Michigan Department of Community Health required
Work Experience:
Previous school social work experience is preferred
Skills:
Knowledge within the following areas:
- School-based consultation and service
- Individualized Education Program (IEP) development and progress monitoring
- Special Education evaluation processes
- Collaboration with family, school and community agencies
- Provide a range of services to students as identified via IEP process.
- Provide consultation and support to families and school personnel to support student success.
- Serve a liaison to help coordinate efforts between school, home, community agencies and other service providers.
- Perform a comprehensive special education evaluation in alignment with State and local policies and procedures.
- Document and evaluate services on a regular basis.
- Demonstrate the VBISD principles of Respect, Integrity, Compassion and Excellence.
- Effectively communicate and collaborate with school teams, parents, and community agencies and providers.
- Adhere to Van Buren ISD policies and procedures.
- Complete assigned responsibilities within agreed upon or established timelines.
- Perform additional tasks, responsibilities, and duties as assigned by the Special Education Supervisor or Director of Special Education
- Valid driver's license required.
Terms of Employment: As per master agreement and provisions established by the Van Buren Board of Education.
