Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team and provide high-quality services to students in grades K-12, with a primary focus on co-teaching in a 5th-grade general education classroom. This role supports students with disabilities including OHI, AUT, SLD, and ED, all of whom are working on the general curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Co-teach in a 5th-grade general education classroom
+ Manage a caseload of 13 students (11 in 5th grade, 2 in 3rd grade)
+ Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with the team
+ Provide direct instruction and support tailored to student needs
+ Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
+ Participate in team meetings and professional development
Minimum Requirements:
+ Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university (preferred)
+ Valid state teaching certificate as required by state/district regulations
+ Minimum of one year of teaching experience (preferred)
+ State Teacher Certification in one or more of the following (preferred):
+ Standard Elementary Teaching
+ Standard Secondary Teaching
+ Standard Special Teaching
+ Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) (preferred)
+ Current CPR certification (if applicable)
+ General education classroom
