It is expected that the Director of Didactic Education will provide effective leadership toward meeting program and student learning outcomes related to the pre-clinical phase of the program. The Director of Didactic Education will work with the Program Director and other members of the PA Faculty to ensure that the program's didactic phase is in compliance with all ARC-PA Accreditation Standards pertaining to didactic training. The Director of Didactic Education should work in synergy with their counterparts at other PA program campuses within South University. The Director of Didactic Education is a member of the faculty (rank commensurate with experience) with the Physician Assistant Program.The incumbent must assure that the South University philosophy is considered in carrying out the duties and responsibilities of this position: quality services to clients; development, growth, involvement, and recognition of employees; sound economic principles; and maintenance of an environment, which is conducive to innovation, positive thinking and expansion. The developing Master of Physician Assistant (PA) Studies Program at North Carolina A&T State University seeks a Director of Clinical Education. This is a 12-month, non-tenure-track position at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor or Clinical Associate Professor.

The Director of Clinical Education oversees and coordinates all aspects of clinical education, including developing and implementing the curriculum and ensuring compliance with accreditation standards. They are also responsible for clinical site development, monitoring, and evaluating clinical sites to ensure they provide quality learning experiences for students. The Director of Clinical Education will also train and mentor clinical faculty, providing them with the necessary resources and support to effectively teach and supervise students, assess and evaluate the clinical curriculum's effectiveness, identify improvement areas, and make necessary adjustments. The faculty member in this role will also (i) utilize modern pedagogical skills in curriculum development and instruction to be essential in the areas of course design, course delivery, assessment, and evaluation, (ii) advise and mentor physician assistant students in independent research projects; (iii) provide service to the Department of Physician Assistant Studies, the College and University.

This individual will work closely with and collaborate with faculty, staff, preceptors, and healthcare affiliates. This position reports to the Program Director.

Primary Function of Organizational Unit:

The HCHHS capitalizes on the synergistic relationships between these departments to develop advanced academic programming, enhance the mentoring of trainees, and conduct collaborative multidisciplinary research and scholastic activity. The Department of Physician Assistant Studies is a quickly growing department, and this position will play a role in preparing for accreditation and admissions and facilitating growth and development. The program will help to increase accessibility to medical services for the state's growing population while providing affordable healthcare. The program's faculty will successfully prepare students to become competent Physician Assistants, contributing quality care to the workforce through the delivery of foundational knowledge and essential clinical skills. Requirements:
