The Associate Director of Nurse Education will play a vital role in enhancing maternal and neonatal care in South Jersey through education, training, and quality improvement strategies. This position focuses on developing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs aimed at improving perinatal outcomes and ensuring adherence to best practices in quality and safety. Utilizes regional data in determining clinical education programs. Develops collaborative relationships with Maternal & Child Health (MCH) providers, Community Based Organizations (CBOs), and local health departments to assess community educational needs and resources. Coordinates health education training for Cooperative staff.
Essential Functions :
Serves as the NJSNA Primary Nurse Planner; facilitates the Provider Unit responsibilities; manages all relevant documentation for accreditation and renewal. * Participates in and coordinates regional and statewide forums involving clinical providers, assists with agenda and lectures, coordinates projects as appropriate. * Assists in grant writing and program design when appropriate. * Membership and active participation in designated professional associations, legislative committees, and other health care networks. * Represents The Cooperative at meetings and conferences of human service professionals, MCH providers, and community organizations. * Knowledge of cultural diversity and cultural competency issues related to health care and health outcomes education. * Assess education needs related to nurse education and cultural competence and develop education plans with program managers, in areas such as preterm labor, family planning, immunizations, lead poisoning prevention, dental health, and other areas critical to maternal and infant health; plan ongoing training as indicated or needed. * Assists in development and maintenance of accurate evaluation measures for all nursing education efforts. * Assess and maintain updated health education resource information for Cooperative staff and member birth facilities
Requirements
- Registered Nurse licensed to practice in the State of New Jersey
- MSN and nursing education experience preferred
- Intermediate Fetal monitoring (IFM) / Obstetric Patient Safety (OPS) instructor status preferred
- Minimum of 5-7 years of inpatient obstetrics experience
- Knowledge of educational methodologies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working with vulnerable maternal and child health populations a plus
- Ability to develop and implement programs
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to plan strategically and complete tasks on time
- Ability to communicate both orally and in writing
- Ability to work with both health care/professionals and the consumer population
- Valid driver's license, car and current insurance policy

JOB SUMMARY :
Fills in as needed in the assigned classroom or program area, which may include teaching, cooking or cleaning. In the classroom, assists the teaching staff with classroom activities and daily routines. When assigned to cooking or cleaning, carries out duties assigned by the Cook, Food Service Assistant or Teaching staff. Works on a temporary or substitute basis.

Classroom :
- Assist with the smooth operation of the classroom
- Assists with the supervision of children at all times.
- Assists in classroom activities and routines, i.e. toileting, tooth brushing, table setting, lunch/snack cleanup etc.
- Assists with small group, large group and circle time activities.
- Completes appropriate paperwork and other areas of compliance including attendance and incident reports.
- Adapts well to changes in classroom routine and new situations.
- Assists in the preparation and serving of snacks and lunch and models appropriate table skills and manners.
- Assists with general center maintenance.
- Implements suggestions from supervisors and/or lead classroom staff.
Cooking :
- Fills in for the Cook or Cook Aide in their absence.
- Follows regular menu or emergency menu as instructed.
- Cooks meals following food sanitation regulations.
- Serves food and cleans up.
Cleaning:
- Carries out cleaning duties according to center schedule/checklist and instructions.
All areas:
- Attends related meetings, staff meetings and required trainings.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS :
- Must have the desire to work with low income children and families.
- Must be able to work well with pre-school children and their parents.
- Must be able to work well in a team-teaching atmosphere and be flexible with work assignments.
- Must exhibit good judgment.
- Must be able to work with others in a warm, non-judgmental manner, and be a positive role model.
- Must have good communication skills and be able to follow oral and written directions.
- Must have acceptable physical and mental health to carry out the responsibilities of the position including lifting and participating in activities with children at their level.
- Must complete and maintain required training in specific topic areas as assigned; completes a minimum of 30 hours over a two year period.
- Must become familiar with classroom curriculums and procedures.
