Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems including lighting, fire alarms, circuit breakers, transformers, outlets, and wiring.
- Diagnose electrical problems using appropriate testing devices and equipment.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on electrical equipment and systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and electrical code specifications.
- Collaborate with other Facilities staff to support campus-wide maintenance and improvement projects.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Completion of an accredited electrician apprenticeship program or technical school preferred.
- Valid state electrician's license or certification.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a commercial or institutional electrician.
- Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Familiarity with campus environments or higher education institutions is a plus.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using electrical tools, testing equipment, and power tools.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Job Summary :
The Electrical Lead Hand is responsible for leading, organizing, and supervising shop floor employees to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to quality and safety standards. This position ensures tasks are performed in sequence according to the production schedule while providing technical expertise and troubleshooting support. Additionally, the Lead Hand is responsible for daily progress reporting, attendance verification, and recommending personnel actions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead, organize, and supervise shop floor employees, ensuring all employees remain productive.
• Follow the production schedule and execute tasks in the defined sequence as outlined by supervisors.
• Ensure that the latest electrical schematics and wiring diagrams are used for assembly and confirm that all shop floor employees are following the same documents.
• Adhere to AVL quality standards and customer requirements throughout the electrical assembly process.
• Maintain clean and organized workstations for all employees.
• Verify shop floor attendance on a daily basis and report any discrepancies.
• Provide daily progress updates to the supervisor.
• Identify and recommend personnel actions such as hiring, termination, and promotions, while identifying employee talents.
• Provide technical expertise on the floor, assisting with troubleshooting electrical assembly issues when necessary.
• Seek clarification from supervisors or electrical engineers when uncertain instead of making assumptions.
• Conduct hands-on electrical assembly work when required to meet production deadlines.
• Promote and maintain a safe work environment in compliance with OSHA regulations.
