THE WORK
This position is for a Manager for the Aegis Test Team in Bath, Maine. This position provides leadership at the Navy Aegis waterfront enterprise level within the Lockheed Martin Operations Sustainment Organization and Ship Integration and Test Business Unit.
• This individual will direct, coordinate, and exercise functional authority for planning, organizing, control, integration, and completion of the Aegis test program within the area of assigned responsibility.
• Responsibilities include coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.
• You will plan and formulate installation and test projects and organize project staff according to schedule and technical requirements.
• Will assign project personnel to specific phases or aspects of project, coordinate activities resolving engineering design and test problems and work with the larger waterfront test enterprise including other DDG 51 new construction Aegis Test Teams, Aegis Modernization Teams, and LCS support teams to balance work force peaks and valleys.
- Site lead will work directly with on-site customers and stakeholders on a daily basis.

Basic Qualifications:
• 8-10 years of experience in a multi-element Navy weapon system shipboard operation, testing and sea trials.
• Minimum of 4 years experience in leading Aegis Weapons System specific test efforts.
• Minimum of 4 years of management or leadership experience including responsibility for both budget and personnel.
• Ability to work in an industrial shipyard environment and shipboard which requires physical ability to climb steep ladders and perform work in confined and tight spaces. Candidate will also be required to go underway on vessels 2-3 times a year for up to one week at a time.

Desired Skills:
• Plan, Coordinate and develop teams as necessary to address Aegis Weapon System operation, installation design or maintenance.
• Identify and plan Aegis Weapon System tasks, establish work standards, make technical decisions, and publish work schedules as necessary.
• Plan/coordinate Aegis Weapon System work operations with other project offices and functional codes, including maintaining continuous contact with the Shipbuilder, other involved shipyards, ships' crews, and other Navy and contractor activities to exchange information regarding high level technical and management problems.

This position reports to the DC/SRD supervisor and is responsible for leading all technical projects falling within, or related to, DC/SRD scope. The group is responsible for developing new DC & SRD products for BIW built new construction ships, evaluating change proposals to capture impact to existing DC & SRD products on In-Service hulls, and subsequently incorporating documented changes into impacted products to reflect as-built configuration. The DC & SRD team supports all New Construction, Lead Yard Services, and Planning Yard efforts associated with DDG 51 and DDG 1000 ships.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Lead new and existing projects of a high technical and logistical level.
- Act as a liaison between DC/SRD, other BIW groups, and the Navy, ensuring precise, thorough execution of current and future projects.
- Partner with the current work leader team to develop plans, structure, tracking, and budget for upcoming projects.
- Work with the Navy customer on ship checks where new work has been absorbed by the DC/SRD team for smooth translation to our final product.
- Network with SOSB and other Navy CDRL approvers to discuss trial cards, streamlining of accession remark processes and submittal for all contracts.
- Consult with SOSB and other Navy activities to develop/support solicited & unsolicited ROM proposals related to new business opportunities.
- Presentation creation and execution may be required at meetings with the Navy and BIW management.
- Will be required at times to train and convey new system functionality or system upgrades to work leaders and designers.
- Being able to study and stay informed of the latest changes to design is a must.
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- High technical aptitude. Must be able to read and comprehend blueprints, schematics, one-line diagrams, and functional diagrams.
Preferred:
- Background in Damage Control and Selected Records Drawings.
- Experience in creating trackers, schedules, and budgets.
- Experience in networking and communication with engineers and the Navy.
- Should possess a deep understanding of equipment/system operations on Navy vessels.

**Pay Range Minimum:**
$81,765
**Pay Range Maximum:**
$134,909
**Additional Compensation:**
All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
**Work Location Options:**
Hybrid Work Options may be considered for successful candidate.

Graduate of a high school, trade or industrial school or correspondence school in which credits were received in algebra, plane geometry, trigonometry, and physics.

Five (5) years of practical experience in responsible engineering duties including five (5) years of progressive experience involving design, operation, maintenance, and testing of Surface Combatant Class Naval ship systems and equipment should have five (5) years of experience directly related to Surface Combatant major construction milestones and Surface Combatant Combat Support Systems testing at Building Yard/Homeport locations.
