This job will coordinate daily activities involving the operations of the Engineering department. This position reports to the Director of Engineering and Chief Engineer, adheres to Company standards and accepts other responsibilities as assigned.  It is the responsibility of the Engineering Coordinator to assist in the day-to-day operations of the Engineering Department, including correspondence, preparing reports and assisting with dispatching calls, answering telephones (for entire office as required), maintaining files, assisting with month end and departmental records/logs. 

• Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
• Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended.
• Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
• Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
• Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
• Access all functions of computer.
• Set up workstation with necessary supplies and resource materials.
• Read the logbook daily, and record all pertinent information in the logbook.
• Check colleague attendance and document tardiness and absenteeism.
• Complete supply requisitions and submit to Chief Engineer; stock and maintain par levels of necessary supplies.
• Process purchase orders for approval and submit to Chief Engineer for approval.
• Process invoices for payment and give copy to Chief Engineer and forward original to accounting.
• Process accruals for end of the month and submit to Chief Engineer and accounting.
• Open office and prioritize assignments and tasks for the shift.
• Answer telephone.
• Screen calls for the Director of Engineering and the Chief Engineer as requested.
• Make telephone calls to specified individuals as requested by the Director of Engineering and the Chief Engineer.
• Greet all individuals arriving at engineering department and assist with their needs.
• Document and maintain appointment calendar for the Director of Engineering and the Chief Engineer.
• Maintain accurate trace files and communicate daily traces to the Director of Engineering and the Chief Engineer.
• Establish and maintain filing procedures.
• Maintain a contact list of all contractors and vendors.

Qualifications

Job Description:

Test Engineering department designs and fabricates equipment that will be used in the development and manufacture of tactical hardware. We are seeking early career individuals who will be fabricating electronic, electro-mechanical assemblies (and sub-assemblies) to Engineering drawings. Daily activity would include not only a fast-paced fabrication environment, but it would also include using several computer-based programs that will update job status, Quality Inspections, and Engineering changes.

Specific Job Description:

Fabrication will include the ability to place and solder components on circuit cards and sub-assemblies. The fabrication of wiring harnesses will require connector pinning, de-pinning, and applying mounting hardware. In addition, these lower-level assemblies are to be built-up into single, or multi-bay cabinet assemblies, for the delivery to Engineering or Manufacturing Production areas. This position will provide the opportunity for the candidate to work as individual contributor, in a team environment. This would include collaborating with Engineers, and other members of the Fabrication team including other Fabricators, Draftsmen, Procurement, and Quality Inspectors.

Position is a minimum of 40 hours per week commitment with occasional overtime.

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma (no Bachelor's degree required)

• 3 years of experience may be in other fabrication environments including cable and harness, SMT board fabrication, or maintenance of military design product.

• Must have Prior Certification in solder and harness capability to MIL STD requirements.

The Engineering Team provides operations support functions as engines are inducted into and progress through the shop. Proactive support of new process development including capabilities analysis and industrialization is a key element of the position.
