**Responsibilities**
+ Designing water transmission and distribution systems, pumping stations, conveyance systems, water treatment systems, water/wastewater distribution planning, master planning, and treatment plant rehabilitation and expansions
+ Managing project tasks, project design and permitting, construction coordination, and providing regular communication and guidance with less experienced staff

**Qualifications**
+ 4+ years of relevant engineering design experience

+ Relevant municipal engineering experience including designing pump stations, pipelines, water/wastewater treatment facilities
+ Experience performing hydraulic modeling (using programs such as WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, InfoWater, etc.)
+ Excellent written and oral communication skills
+ Positive attitude, self-motivated; sense of urgency to produce high quality work
+ Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

The role of the senior civil engineer is to work independently on small and large projects, as well as a team member for more complex and larger projects. - Water distribution and transmission main design with rigid and non-rigid pipe materials including welded steel pipe, ductile iron pipe, PVC, HDPE, and concrete pressure pipe and cylinder pipe.
- Pipeline rehabilitation methodologies including CIPP, pipe bursting, and pipelining
- Familiarity and design experience with trenchless construction methodologies such as HDD, microtunneling, auger boring.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking experience.
- Experience with various project delivery methods and construction methodologies, especially trenchless applications, is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal abilities for working in diverse team environments with staff, clients, and stakeholders.

Develops conceptual and detailed designs and calculations to support the project execution using current drawing and technical tools, programs and software. As a member of the team, you will contribute to the successful project delivery for a diverse range of projects for HNTB's clients.
**What You'll Do:**
+ Completes assigned work within the schedule and number of hours provided.
+ Supports the preparation and modification of project reports, plans, designs, and calculations.
+ Assists in the preparation of project quantity and cost estimates.
+ Assists engineering teams with organization and administrative support of design files.
+ Supports engineering teams with various tasks and duties including but not limited to research, data collection, field investigations, development, and design of projects.
+ Performs other duties as assigned

**Responsibilities**
+ Performs engineering work in various engineering fields within the Infrastructure Practice such as pipelines, pump stations and reservoirs
+ Works on engineering designs, prepare reports, develop plans, prepare specifications, and cost estimates for various water and wastewater infrastructure projects, permitting and alternative analysis
+ Prepares technical memoranda, reports and electronic deliverables; data entry and analysis, and working through the construction phase on the projects

+ Directs several subordinate supervisors or team leaders

**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
+ 15+ years of water and wastewater experience in the field of infrastructure engineering with at least five years of project management experience
+ Registration as a Professional Engineer
+ Demonstrated experience in the design and construction phase of small, medium, and large sized water and/or wastewater infrastructure projects with full responsibility for budget, schedule, contractual obligations and quality standards
+ Experience includes water and/or wastewater treatment facilities, wastewater collection systems, water transmission/distribution projects, pipeline rehabilitation projects, and pump stations
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills
+ Ability to communicate effectively with clients and project team
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Master's degree in civil or environmental engineering
+ Design and construction phase experience
