**JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:**
Responsible for meeting with customers to determine electric needs and requirements. Performs a wide variety of planning, maintenance, and design engineering activities related to routine, non-routine, and emergency restoration duties. Project areas may include grid/system design, operations and maintenance, planning, asset management, reliability, computer applications, safety, and root cause failure analysis.
**JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Provide technical guidance to the Engineer Associates and Assistants and local area line groups.
+ Provide project management for all large projects including highway relocations, governmental projects, planned improvement and reliability projects.
+ Review and recommend for approval electrical designs that meet customer needs, comply with company standards and enhance the overall system performance and reliability.
+ Participate in meetings with external customers, architects, developers, contractors and government entities to communicate standards and guidelines.
+ Perform engineering calculations to aid in planning and corrective measure projects.
+ Assist with storm restoration efforts both local and out of town.
**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:**
**Minimum education required of the position**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Discipline (typically Electrical, Mechanical, Civil and Chemical, Industrial) from four year accredited institution. Degrees in engineering technology (typically, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, and Industrial) from a four year accredited institution with PE may be considered.
+ Electrical Engineering Degree Preferred
**Minimum experience required of the position**
+ Engineer I - 0+ years of experience in an engineering discipline.
+ Engineer II - 2+ years of experience in an engineering discipline. (1year with a M.S.)
+ Engineer III - 4+ years of experience in an engineering discipline.
**Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position**
Knowledgeable of engineering principles. Ability to understand and comply with procedures, programs, and standards in responsible area. Good leadership skills. Good interpersonal skills along with strong written and oral communication skills. Excellent math skills. Excellent project management skills. The Electrical Engineer, as part of the Engineering Services department at a major integrated petrochemical manufacturing facility, is responsible for the optimization, troubleshooting, and design of a wide variety of electrical equipment. This involves time in the field ensuring that the installed electrical equipment contributes to safe, environmentally sound, reliable, and profitable operations. The Electrical Engineer will be located in Beaumont TX.
**What you will do**
+ Maintain close contact with operations, maintenance, engineering, and project development to identify and implement electrical equipment repairs and reliability improvements
+ Design and specify electrical equipment such as motors, breakers, relays, generators, substations, buses, starters, transformers, and other industrial electrical equipment (480V to 230kV)
+ Coordinate projects for new or replacement equipment among engineering, maintenance, and operations
+ Commissioning, startup assistance, and support of electrical systems with maintenance personnel
+ Serve as an electrical technology expert liaison between project engineers, plant maintenance, and operations personnel
+ Supports and interfaces with business teams to maintain and improve electrical reliability while reducing maintenance costs.
+ Participates in screening, optimization, basic design preparation for electric power systems
+ Develops project scoping, design and detail specifications for electric power systems
+ Monitors Engineering Quality Control and leads contractor's electrical work to ensure consistency with project specifications and guidelines
+ Support preparation of Design Basis Memorandums and develop Specifications

**About you**
**Skills and Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering
+ Demonstrated experience in petrochemical industry with power systems as an Electrical Engineer

**What role you will play in our team**
This position is a mechanical integrity technical position for fixed equipment in support of petrochemical facility. This position provides technical support to the site with a focus on managing the risk based inspection program, troubleshooting, asset improvement, and technology selection. This position is located at the ExxonMobil Beaumont.
**What you will do**
+ Ownership of unit risk based inspection program
+ Work selection recommendations
+ Planning inspections with appropriate coverage and NDE techniques
+ Analysis of inspection results and recommended future actions
+ Perform mechanical analysis of required thickness and fitness for service assessments
+ Respond to plant operational events
+ Provide repair and replacement specifications
+ Analyze site fixed equipment performance
+ Drive site asset improvement in the areas of Safety, Reliability, Environmental Performance and Equipment Capability and Efficiency in a team setting
+ Support capital projects and minor modifications in the areas of design consulting, technical quality assurance, and start-up assistance
+ Communicate and interact daily with Inspection, Maintenance, Process, and Operations team members

+ Required B.S. (or higher) Degree in Mechanical, Materials, Corrosion Engineering or equivalent
+ Minimum of 5 years experience with Mechanical Integrity in a Petrochemical facility
