The **Senior Financial Analyst** will serve as a key financial partner supporting distribution operations. This role provides comprehensive general ledger (GL) and costing support, collaborating closely with the Finance Manager and Director of Finance to deliver critical insights that inform both operational and strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will bring strong financial acumen, expertise in inventory and freight cost management, and a solid understanding of SOX compliance.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Lead the preparation, management, and tracking of the department operating budget; collaborate with operational leaders to align financial plans with business objectives.
+ Drive the forecasting process, including regular updates, variance analysis, and executive-level reporting; ensure forecasting accuracy and accountability.
+ Analyze financial data to support the annual budgeting process and long-term strategic planning initiatives.
+ Prepare and maintain standard cost structures for labor, overhead, and materials; ensure costs reflect current business operations.
+ Oversee inventory accounting, including reconciliations, cycle counts, reserve assessments, and inventory valuation accuracy.
+ Monitor and evaluate inbound and outbound freight costs; ensure accurate accounting and identify cost-saving opportunities.
+ Ensure SOX compliance through documentation, maintenance, and testing of internal financial controls related to reporting, inventory, procurement, and capital expenditures.
+ Partner cross-functionally to identify and drive cost reduction initiatives and operational efficiencies across supply chain and distribution functions.
+ Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and detailed financial variance analysis.
+ Manage capital expenditure processes, including budget tracking, forecasting, and actual spend reporting; support project stakeholders with financial oversight.
+ Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations, focusing on high-risk areas such as inventory, freight accruals, and capital assets.
+ Track production volumes versus plan and forecast; provide variance insights to operational teams.
+ Compile and analyze documentation to support GL account balances; ensuring financial accuracy and audit readiness.
+ Develop and deliver financial, operational, and KPI reports to internal stakeholders.
+ Coordinate internal and external audit activities, including preparing schedules and fulfilling audit requests.
+ Document and streamline financial processes in alignment with best practices, internal control standards and audit readiness requirements.
+ Review and approve capital expenditure requests (CERs) and purchase requisitions for policy and budget compliance.
+ Support special projects and ad hoc analyses in response to evolving business needs.
**Qualifications:**
+ BS in Accounting or Finance.
+ 5 or more years of experience in finance, cost accounting highly preferred, ideally within a manufacturing or distribution environment.
+ Proficiency in MS Excel; experience with ERP systems such as Peoplesoft or SAP preferred.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
+ Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage work independently.
+ Demonstrated experience in cost accounting and inventory management.
This role will be based in Rochester, NY, with occasional travel required to other company locations as business needs dictate.

Budget and Proposal Generation
+ In collaboration with leadership, create budgets and proposals for new projects and ensure all necessary approvals are in place.
+ Participate on calls and meetings with new collaborators to gather the needed inputs for generating the budgets and proposals.
+ Monitor funds, establish accounting classifications, prepare reports in the status of such funds for department, and develop systems of controls.
+ Uses historical data and experience to help enhance the methods of budgeting and billing to reduce cash flow delays.
+ Participate in CMSU Management meetings and take new information about production challenges, monitoring the unexpected frequency, pack out and shipment configurations of clinical supply receipts against the planned receipts in the budget Proposals, calculate that impact and generate budget amendments, as needed for work that is out of scope. Utilize best practices to present alternative budgeting methodologies that adhere to various UR and Government regulations/requirements.
. Purchasing and Inventory Control of Consumables
+ Liaise with Vendors, Purchasing, and Accounts Payable on behalf of the CMSU to execute purchase orders with vendors.

Evaluates and becomes familiar with performance reporting protocols and objectives. May write or assist in writing procedures that control reporting needs and processes. Work in collaboration with individual Departments and Program Administrators to assist them in McKesson HBI/Explorer reporting platforms to accommodate each individual reporting requirement.
Works with Decision Support System Administration in supporting the data management processes of hospital and medical faculty group, McKesson tools, and assists in ensuring that all feeds are fed properly, audited and integrated into the data bases efficiently and timely.
Support and serves as backup for the Decision Support/BI Team on Business Intelligence Analytics projects.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with major course work in Finance or Accounting, or related field desirable, and 4-5 years' experience in the analysis and dissemination of information; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Role Summary

To establish and lead all financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and financial performance analytics activities across the UK business, ensuring alignment between strategic goals, operational delivery and financial outcomes. The role owns the design and implementation of robust FP&A processes, templates and tooling and acts as the financial pillar for enterprise level performance planning and transformation finance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Lead the UK wide budgeting, forecasting and financial planning cycles, ensuring clarity of timelines, ownership, interdependencies and assumptions in alignment with the corporation in the US.

2. Develop and own the UK FP&A reporting toolkit including templates, scenario modelling and standardised formats to drive consistency and transparency.

3. Partner with Operational finance teams to translate business performance into actionable insights, ensuring that forecasts, variance analysis and KPIs reflect operational reality.

4. Oversee the Central Services Business partnering activities, ensuring functional overheads (HR, Technology, Legal, Finance etc) are planned and managed effectively with clear accountability and challenge.

5. Lead the Service Operations Finance capability, owning business case financials, cost-to-serve modelling and transformation cost tracking to inform investment and ROI decisions.

6. Drive continuous improvement in finance processes, data flows and tooling, acting as the business lead for any future FP&A technology implementations.

7. Design and implement fit-for-purpose financial structures (e.g. cost centres, attributes, hierarchies) to support the capability based operating model, enabling tracking, planning and decision making through transformation.

• Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACA/ACCA) or equivalent with extensive post-qualification experience in FP&A or commercial finance leadership.

• Proven track record of leading enterprise level financial planning and forecasting processes in complex, matrixed organisations.
