Direct Wire & Cable is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead and support safety initiatives across our Lancaster and Denver, Pennsylvania facilities. This role is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, developing and delivering training programs, and managing risk in a dynamic manufacturing environment.


We are looking for a candidate with demonstrated experience in EHS leadership and a commitment to continuous improvement. While this is a management-level position, we will consider applicants with less experience who show strong potential for growth and leadership in the EHS field. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain health and safety programs, policies, and procedures in compliance with regulatory standards

  • Utilize tools to monitor departmental cost and cost trends, striving continuously to improve value (i.e. cost of Workers Compensation versus cost of wearing Safety glasses).

  • Provide feedback to management on cost and cost trends.

Forecast Development and Accuracy

  • Provide feedback to Facilities Manager and Operations Manager on forecasts for the department.

Technical Management Responsibilities

  • Drive continuous improvement through trend reporting analysis and metrics management.

  • Assess the adequacy of data gathering methods utilized by the workcells.

  • Assure that procedures and work instructions are efficient and not redundant.

Environmental Health & Safety Manager
**Job Summary:**
The position provides both management oversight and hands-on support and implementation of safety programs for EMCOR Facilities Services, Inc., (EFS) for the account portfolio. The primary purpose of this role is to support the site teams in their execution of the EFS safety program. To accomplish this the role will aid in protection of the client and EMCOR Facilities Services, Inc people and assets by maintaining a strong safety culture, reducing risk exposure and potential liability, and support operational continuity by preventing safety-related disruptions. The position requires the ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with both management and field-level employees. The position requires travel to client sites (up to 75% of flexible travel, potentially more frequent initially) to the client account locations to perform the following duties: Develop and oversee the implementation of safety policies and procedures, conduct safety training and audits to ensure compliance, investigate incidents and near-misses to prevent recurrence, safety coaching, site or project safety assessments, facilitate account safety update meetings, ensure ISN compliance and customer relations. The position will also be involved in identifying opportunities to improve work related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to drive a proactive safety culture at each site.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**
Drives execution of safety program within the client portfolio. Primary locations are mainly Eastern/Central United States (IL, TX, TN, WI, GA,). Manages site inspection processes (pre-task risk assessment, equipment inspections, etc.) Performs site safety assessments of client facilities to identify existing or potential accident and health hazards, ensuring on site technicians are equipped with proper PPE including NFPA 70E requirements; determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated; lead incident and near miss investigations; submits related reports of findings to management and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.
Updates local operating procedures and standard SOPs related to the work activities performed at the site location(s) as needed; Ensures that the work our associates do for our clients does not conflict with EFS, Federal, State, or Local regulations. Audits ISN account compliance requirements.
Drives safety training at site level. May conduct training on site or assist with computer training, aerial lift training, ladder inspection training, fall protection inspection training and any other safety related training for all EMCOR Facilities Services technicians on site. Performs new hire orientation around safety related items including initial training as well as a 30-day follow-up training.
Schedules monthly meetings/visits with the assigned client team (s); conducts training, safety talks, and/or equipment assessments.
Demonstrates ownership of safety program through attendance and involvement at site meetings via in-person or virtual (daily, weekly, etc.), pre-task discussions, and other opportunities to interact with field staff in the work environment.
Supports and responds to daily team needs across the organization.
**Qualifications:**
Education
Bachelor's degree in Safety & Health, EH&S Management or a related field is required or a combination of education and related work experience.
Business Experience
Minimum of 5-7 of progressively responsible experience in the EH&S field.
Licenses/Certifications
Must hold an OSHA Outreach Instructor Certification for General Industry or obtain certification within 12 months of assuming the role.

**Position Purpose:**

+ Review and provide a summary of all pending regulations to management staff prior to the effective dates. Prepare and initiate implementation plans for new regulations.

**Qualifications**
**Education / Experience / Background:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Science or a related technical discipline.
+ 5 to 8 of experience in the environmental regulatory or compliance field, with specific experience in hazardous waste treatment, storage and disposal.

**Job Summary**
Develops, coordinates and implements management systems to provide high levels of EHSS protection for the Zimmer Biomet Commercial network and Warsaw facilities.
**Principal Duties and Responsibilities**
Advises management and takes actions to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and company EHSS regulations.
Manages accident and hazard investigations and recommends/implements corrective actions.
Conducts required EHSS inspections, assists with internal EHSS auditing programs, and drives associated gap closure.
Develops, conducts and coordinates EHSS related training. Ensures standardization of training programs throughout the Commercial network.
Implements and maintains risk management systems to ensure that employee exposures to hazards and/or unsafe environmental conditions are properly controlled.
Manages EHSS related programs both Commercially and at Warsaw facilities as needed.
Assists with the development, implementation, and revision of site EHSS procedures and promotional materials.
Drives continuous improvement activities and provides oversight for ISO or related management systems.
Assists with Change Management activities and provides EHSS guidance for new equipment installations and process changes.
Maintains necessary EHSS related documentation and EHSS metric data.
Promotes the EHSS program through internal publications and encourages consideration of EHSS impact during decision-making process and integration of EHSS responsibilities.
Serves as an SME for the EHSS Enterprise and provide best practices within the NAM, EMEA, and APAC regions.

**Expected Areas of Competence (i.e. KSAs)**
+ Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
+ Must be technologically proficient.
+ Auditing and training skills.
**Education/ Experience Requirements**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Safety Management or equivalent
+ Master's Degree preferred.
+ Ten or more years of experience in the EHSS field.
**Travel Requirements**
+ Up to 20%
