Job Description
Our Patient Care Technicians provide high-quality patient care to patients suffering from the most advanced stage of chronic kidney disease, known as END Stage Renal Disease (ESRD). As a PCT you will monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis treatment including measuring and recording stats, initiating cannulation, patient observations, and hemodialysis machine setup. Our Patient Care Technicians have a combination of technical skills and genuine passion needed to develop deep relationships with patients and improve their quality of life.
Work Experience- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Must have a desire to care for people and be comfortable working around blood and needles.
- Experienced PCTs must have current certification from BONENT, NNCC, or NNCO or if applicable other state approved certification.
- Experienced PCTs are required to have current BLS/CPR certification.

Responsible for the setup and operation of hemodialysis machines. Assist in the maintenance of a safe and clean working environment. Supports the organization commitment to the Quality Enhancement Program (QEP) and CQI Activities, including those related to patient satisfaction and actively participate in process improvement activities that enhance the likelihood that patients will achieve the organization Quality Enhancement Goals (QEP).
Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesPatient Related
- Assist other health care members in providing patient specific detailed education regarding adequacy measures where appropriate - Online Clearance Monitoring (OLC), Adequacy Monitoring Program (AMP), Urea Kinetic Modeling (UKM), and regarding disease process/access.

The **Patient Care Tech/ Certified Nursing Assistant** responsibilities and skills:
+ Provides direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse.
+ Assists the nursing staff in the delivery of patient care as directed by the RN.
**Requirements:**
+ High School Diploma or GED minimum
+ Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (from American Red Cross or American Heart Association)
+ A minimum of one year of licensed CNA work experience in a skilled nursing facility; or a minimum of 6 months of PCT (Patient Care Tech)/CNA work experience in a hospital; or in lieu of experience may have completed approved CNA school (with clinicals); or nursing student with completion of Nursing Fundamentals
