Job Summary

The Manager, Inventory Management leads the site's Inventory Management team and oversees the stocking optimization and inventory planning in the facility through a team of Supervisors and other professionals. The Manager contributes to the facility's profitability through managing supplier costs and driving operational improvements. As a primary liaison to the Souring function, the Manager provides key input into supplier negotiations, demand planning and forecasting and also translates operational changes in the broader distribution network into requirements for the facility.

Responsibilities

* Oversees the site's Inventory Management team by setting short- and long-term objectives, directing tasks for individual teams and professionals, and providing guidance on complex issues. Leads regular meetings with Supervisors to ensure alignment.
* Drives the profitability and operating margins of the facility by implementing supplier contracts with minimal costs. Regularly monitors revenues and costs at the supplier level and assesses opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
* Based on expert knowledge of the facility's operations and analyses and reporting conducted by managed team, provides inputs into supplier negotiations executed by Sourcing teams. Ensures that supplier agreements are aligned to the capabilities and economics of the facility.
* Provides input and feedback into the business unit's demand planning and forecasting based on inventory planning and supplier relations.
* Evaluates the impact of changes in standard operating procedures, network planning and major supplier agreements on the facility's operations. Coordinates with Managers, Warehouse Operations and other site leaders in order to modify operations to meet new requirements and customer commitments.
* Evaluates performance of teams and of direct reports, providing regular feedback and development opportunities. Participates in people management activities including performance reviews, recruiting and onboarding, and talent management.
* Directs regular cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure high inventory accuracy and to troubleshoot and resolve customer issues.

Qualifications

Summary/Objective:

The Director of Supply Planning and Inventory Management will be responsible for leading a diverse team of supply chain professionals to support the overall supply chain strategy of maximizing service levels while minimizing sourcing and inventory related costs. The position reports to the Chief Supply Chain Officer and will be a critical leader in driving cross-functional alignment with Demand Planning, Logistics, Business Development, Sales & Finance to maintain a balanced supply chain responsive to market needs.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead a supply chain team consisting of multiple managers, supply planners & coordinators to meet specific KPIs focused on fill rates, inventory levels, cost/profitability, spoils as well as aging and dead stock
  • Manage purchase and inventory plan and adjust to meet business needs while also driving internal alignment
  • Proactively identify supply constraints and implement mitigation plans to prevent service disruptions
  • Oversee the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, collaborating closely with demand planning, sales, operations and finance
  • Partner with Business Development teams to promote good vendor relationships and high performance. Will require managing supplier metrics
  • Align with warehouse operations and logistics on stocking levels by facility and projected inbound and outbound volume
  • Own inventory strategy, policies, and performance KPIs including inventory turns, fill rates, and working capital targets.
  • Champion the effective use of MRP, planning, and forecasting tools
  • Drive safety stock optimization across all distribution points
  • Ensure team adherence to accurate material planning and stock parameters (lead times, MOQs, Order Multiples etc)
  • Mentor and coach team members to develop the supply planning team into a center of excellence
  • Facilitate regular executive-level reviews on supply chain health, risks, and opportunities.
  • Continuously refine supply chain processes using data-driven analysis and lean principles
  • Lead or support the implementation of new planning systems or process improvement initiatives

Preferred:

  • Masters degree or MBA.
  • APICS certification (CPIM, CSCP).

Salary Range: $38,750 - 231,250 annually

Client is seeking a dynamic individual to join a motivated team of materials management and supply chain professionals. This individual is expected to efficiently support the supply chain management software application functions, data management and sources, testing of new technology, assist with data migration and correction, and support activities related to the integration of supply chain management information systems. The Analyst, Supply Chain Management & System will be responsible for the supporting all supply chain management system that activities start from raw materials to the final drug product.

Key Responsibilities
• Joining a team of highly qualified materials management and supply chain professionals, this individual will be responsible for supporting the supply chain management process, systems, and software functions for MRP, ERP, data sources, testing, integrations, reporting, analytics, and more within the cell therapy network. The support includes, but is not limited to, working with supply chain leadership to identify requirements and develop effective solutions to meet these requirements following standard implementation testing and deployment of guidelines.
• Configure and optimize systems to meet business requirements, ensuring proper alignment with organizational objectives. Configure and refine business processes within systems, aligning them with industry best practices and organizational needs.
• Develop a variety of reports, exports, dashboards, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), ensuring comprehensive data visualization and analysis capabilities. Assess the existing reporting requirements to appropriately prioritize and streamline the development of reports.
• Implement system enhancements and fixes, following standard project implementation guidelines and testing and deployment standards. Investigate and research system-related issues, identifying root causes and proposing effective solutions to enhance system performance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders on identifying and prioritizing new system enhancements, fixes, and project schedules. Implement agreed-upon enhancements and solutions following established project implementation guidelines, ensuring adherence to testing and deployment standards.

Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in applied science.
• 2+ years relevant experience.
• 1+ years' relevant experience with materials management and/or supply planning within cGMP operations in matrixed organization with multi-level setup
• Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills.
• Ability to work well in a team environment with a positive attitude that is willing to assist other areas of the organization.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as strong focus and attention to detail.
• Demonstrate ability to handle multiple tasks at one time and maintain a strong attention to detail.
• APICS certification is a plus
• Proficiency in ERP and systems (I.e., Oracle, SAP, QAD)

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and interpret material demand changes, place purchase orders, monitor POs, invoices, and material life cycles, maintain supplier relationships, and execute materials and purchase order strategies to maintain on-time delivery of materials along with target inventory levels to support network CT product manufacturing and development.
  • Collaborate with internal manufacturing sites to ensure master production schedule is aligned to ensure upcoming orders are fulfilled as per need-by dates.
  • Lead production meetings with site and above-site representatives such as Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, MS&T, and Supply Chain.
  • Work with QA, QC, and other cross-functional teams to ensure the appropriate amount of QC materials are tested, released, and available to support all manufacturing activities.
  • Ensure that all input materials are available on time and at the right quantities to ensure material availability for production.
  • Develop and maintain replenishment strategy for selected set of materials, ensuring that production demands are continuously met through periods of high growth and expansion.
  • Ensure network evaluation, allocation, and transfers of materials is executed according to aligned SLA's, strategies, and various set parameters across sites.
  • Development and execution of supply forecast models/scenarios (internal and external) based on production demand that aligns with company objectives. Management and monitoring of QC materials demand/supply to ensure supply continuity and minimization of obsolescence.
  • Support material planning master data analysis. Identify opportunities for process efficiencies, standardization, and alignments across the network.
  • Mitigate any potential material shortages in a timely manner by leveraging the tier structure to ensure successful mitigation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements while maintaining open communication with all teams and fostering environment of cooperation to achieve shared goals.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Education:
  • Associate's degree required but prefer bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, life sciences, information systems, business management or related fields.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • 3+ years of related experience in materials management and/or supply chain within cGMP operations. Cell therapy experience preferred.
  • Experience in material planning and/or finite scheduling in a medium to high volume environment.
  • Flexible and comfortable working with ambiguity. Strong understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and other regulatory requirements (EMA, TGA).
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment with a positive attitude and a willingness to assist other areas of the organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as strong focus and attention to detail.
  • Independence and self-starting mentality with an ability to handle multiple tasks at once in a fast-paced environment.
  • APICS certification is a plus.
