We are looking for an Onsite M achine Operator to add value to our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Must be able to perform all the duties of the rod loader.
- Adjust machine components to regulate speeds, pressures, and temperatures, and amounts, dimensions, and flow of materials or ingredients.
- Press control buttons to activate machinery and equipment.
- Examine, measure, and weigh materials or products to verify conformance to standards, using measuring devices such as templates, micrometers, or scales.
- Monitor machine operations and observe lights and gauges to detect malfunctions.
- Clear jams and remove defective or substandard materials or products.
- Notify supervisors when extruded filaments fail to meet standards.
- Record and maintain production data such as meter readings, and quantities, types, and dimensions of materials produced.
- Review work orders, specifications, or instructions to determine materials, ingredients, procedures, components, settings, and adjustments for extruding, forming, pressing, or compacting machines.
- Clean dies, arbors, compression chambers, and molds, using swabs, sponges, or air hoses.
- Synchronize speeds of sections of machines when producing products involving several steps or processes.
- Select and install machine components such as dies, molds, and cutters, according to specifications, using hand tools and measuring devices.
- Move materials, supplies, components, and finished products between storage and work areas, using work aids such as racks, hoists, and hand trucks.
- Responsible for new team member training as instructed by supervisor.
- Provide additional assistance to the SSW Management Team as requested.
- Learn other position such as Rod Loader/Scale Operator/Material Handler.
Position Supervised or Directed:
- Responsible position requiring much self-supervision.
- Under the direct supervision of Cell Lead Person and the Plant Floor Supervisor.
- Subject to corrective measures given by Quality Control Staff.
- Work activities in the workplace will be observed from time to time by members of top management.
Qualifications, Experience requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Six months or more of experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
General requirements:
- Availability to go to the division from Monday to Friday.
- Detailed and hands-on oriented.

- Manufacturing plant environment
- Requires physical ability, which may include standing, lifting, carrying, reaching, and working in areas that are not climate controlled for long periods
- Subjected to noise from machines which may require hearing protection
- Subjected to metal particles and burrs as material and product passes through machines and to sparks from resistance welding necessitating the use of safety glasses for eye protection

Position Summary
The Automated Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining automated cutting, trimming and profiling machinery used in the production of flooring trims. This position requires an experienced operator with strong mechanical aptitude, technical problem-solving skills, and a commitment to quality and safety. The operator ensures all automated systems run efficiently to meet daily production targets while maintaining product specifications defined by the Quality Management System (QMS).
Key Responsibilities
Operate and monitor automated machines used for cutting, profiling, trimming, wrapping, and packaging flooring trim products.
Set up equipment for new production runs, including tolling changes, calibration, and input of product parameters into machine controls.
Verify material setup and inspect finished products to ensure they meet visual, dimensional, and quality standards.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and process-related issues to minimize downtime and maintain continuous production flow.
Perform basic mechanical adjustments and coordinate with maintenance personnel for complex repairs.
Complete production documentation accurately, including batch records, quality checks, downtime logs, and maintenance reports in accordance with QMS procedures.
Conduct routine preventive maintenance such as cleaning lubrication, and inspection of machine components.
Collaborate with quality and engineering teams to identify process improvements and implement corrective actions when nonconformities arise.
Adhere strictly to company safety policies, including PPE use and lockout/tagout requirements.
Train and support junior operators to ensure consistent production and quality performance.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product consistency.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required, technical or vocational certification preferred.
5-7 years of experience operating automated or CNC-controlled machinery in a manufacturing setting, preferably in the flooring, wood, or building material industry.
Strong mechanical, electrical, and process troubleshooting abilities.
Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and machine operation manuals.
Experience working within an ISO 9001 or equivalent QMS environment preferred.
Skilled in the use of measurement tools such as calipers, tape measures, and gauges.
Computer literacy and familiarity with HMI (Human – Machine Interface) systems.
Strong attention to detail, quality focus, and safety awareness.
Ability to work independently and take initiative while supporting a team environment.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and operate machinery for extended periods (8-12 hours).
Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs.
Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movement.
Exposure to typical manufacturing conditions such as noise, dust, and temperature
