Adecco is currently hiring for a **Machine Operator** in the **Hamilton, NJ** area. This is a great opportunity to work with a leading company in a hands-on, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
**Job Summary:**
As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for monitoring automated production machinery, performing product quality checks, and light hand assembly. This is a non-technical role that does **not** involve fixing or repairing machines.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Operate automated production equipment
+ Inspect products on a continuous flow production line
+ Perform light hand assembly of parts
+ Assemble boxes, apply labels, and fill out production logs
+ Train new employees under supervisor guidance
+ Perform other related duties as assigned
**Qualifications:**
+ High school diploma or GED preferred

+ Able to stand on feet for approximately 80% of the shift

**The Job You Will Perform:**
The machine operator position is responsible for the day-to-day safe operation of his/her machine and overseeing of all employees assigned to his/her machine, in accordance with safety and work rules, under the supervision of Production management. Must be able to demonstrate a complete understanding of mechanical functions of the machine and displays a high degree of trouble-shooting ability. The Operator understands basic principles of corrugated, flutes, and corrugation direction. The Operator is capable of determining, as needed, the best order to run various jobs for greater efficiency. Responsible for set up of all sections of the machine and stacker sections. Able to delegate machine responsibilities to crew members to insure the most efficient operation of the machine center. Ensures the quality of the finished product produced at the machine. Assures that productivity and throughput levels are maintained at the machine. Responsible for assisting in run rate improvements, quality improvements and downtime elimination at the machine center. Responsible for all associated order paperwork.

3.1 To perform the job functions to maintain efficiency of assigned machines in order to meet departmental and company goals.
3.2 . To perform first articles on color and resin changes.

4.3.2 Must be able to work safely in the vicinity of open flames, hot plastic, oil and metal (at approximately 350-380 degrees). There is possible exposure to dust and odors from various substances such as oil, molten plastics, degreasers and cleaning solvents.
4.3.3 Noise level is usually 90dB and above and requires ear protection.
4.3.4 Must be able to work around sharp edges of machinery and moving machine components.
4.3.5 Must wear the following personal protective equipment: rubber soled/ steel toed shoes, ear plugs, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves and forearm sleeves.
4.3.6 Will be required to lift on an occasional basis anywhere from 10-50 lbs. Must be able to carry approximately 50 lbs. for a distance of 100 ft twice a day on the average. Must be able to push/pull a 1000 lb. mold into position on a machine table.
4.3.7 Must be able to stand on average 10 hours a day.
4.3.8 Must be able to detect visual defects in a bottle. Must be able to clearly distinguish shades in color.
4.3.9 Must be able to hear and recognize various sounds such as emergency machine shutdown alarms.
4.3.10 Bending and twisting at a 90 ° angle will be required about 50% of the day.
4.3.11 Must be able to read and understand all work procedures and instructions.

Essential Skills:

  • Experience in saw operation, machine operation, and machining.

  • Familiarity with tape measures, bandsaw operation, and production fabrication.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma with some technical mechanical aptitude.
  • 1-2 years of experience in an industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of machinery and ability to read drawings is an asset.
  • Basic computer skills, including MS Windows; other MS software is an asset.
  • Understanding of measurements, tolerances, basic geometry, and numeracy comprehension.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently and up to 100 lbs with assistance.
  • Familiarity with extrusion software such as EPICS is an asset.
