**Job Summary:**
As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for monitoring automated production machinery, performing product quality checks, and light hand assembly. This is a non-technical role that does **not** involve fixing or repairing machines.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Operate automated production equipment
+ Inspect products on a continuous flow production line
+ Perform light hand assembly of parts
+ Assemble boxes, apply labels, and fill out production logs
+ Train new employees under supervisor guidance

**Qualifications:**

**The Job You Will Perform:**
The machine operator position is responsible for the day-to-day safe operation of his/her machine and overseeing of all employees assigned to his/her machine, in accordance with safety and work rules, under the supervision of Production management. Must be able to demonstrate a complete understanding of mechanical functions of the machine and displays a high degree of trouble-shooting ability. The Operator understands basic principles of corrugated, flutes, and corrugation direction. The Operator is capable of determining, as needed, the best order to run various jobs for greater efficiency. Responsible for set up of all sections of the machine and stacker sections. Able to delegate machine responsibilities to crew members to insure the most efficient operation of the machine center. Ensures the quality of the finished product produced at the machine. Assures that productivity and throughput levels are maintained at the machine. Responsible for assisting in run rate improvements, quality improvements and downtime elimination at the machine center. Responsible for all associated order paperwork.

+ Responsible for set up duties as assigned. Adds/removes machine parts by hand, utilizing wrenches, as needed.
+ Must be a self-starter, able to operate from directions or independently as needed
+ Must demonstrate teamwork and resolve issues effectively and professionally.
+ Able to train helpers to take over the Operator position so that continuous run processes can be established, as needed
+ Machine maintenance and housekeeping
+ Must be willing and able to work daily and weekly overtime, including weekends, as business conditions require.

**Responsibilities & Procedure:**
3.1 To perform the job functions to maintain efficiency of assigned machines in order to meet departmental and company goals.
3.2 . To perform first articles on color and resin changes.
3.3 To coordinate with Quality Control department on production activities, such as held ware, isolation procedures, etc.
3.4 To utilize the MATTEC production reporting system to control and improve the process. For example: production reporting downtime reports, SPC, SQC, etc.
3.5 To make adjustments and maintain the bottle operation of the conveying, flaming, robotic and inspection systems on any IBM machine.
3.6 Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures.
3.7 Continuously improves the efficiency of the IBM production department by improving existing processes.
3.8 Works with the supervisor in directing activities of utilities and packers assigned to the group leader.
3.9 Responsible for the complete ownership of assigned machines and lines.
3.10 Contributes to the team effort.

4.3.1 Must be able to work twelve (12) hours per day with three 15-minute breaks and one (1) 30-minute lunch. Must be able to work overtime on very short notice.
4.3.2 Must be able to work safely in the vicinity of open flames, hot plastic, oil and metal (at approximately 350-380 degrees). There is possible exposure to dust and odors from various substances such as oil, molten plastics, degreasers and cleaning solvents.
4.3.3 Noise level is usually 90dB and above and requires ear protection.
4.3.4 Must be able to work around sharp edges of machinery and moving machine components.
4.3.5 Must wear the following personal protective equipment: rubber soled/ steel toed shoes, ear plugs, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves and forearm sleeves.
4.3.6 Will be required to lift on an occasional basis anywhere from 10-50 lbs. Must be able to carry approximately 50 lbs. for a distance of 100 ft twice a day on the average. Must be able to push/pull a 1000 lb. mold into position on a machine table.
4.3.7 Must be able to stand on average 10 hours a day.
4.3.8 Must be able to detect visual defects in a bottle. Must be able to clearly distinguish shades in color.
4.3.9 Must be able to hear and recognize various sounds such as emergency machine shutdown alarms.
4.3.10 Bending and twisting at a 90 ° angle will be required about 50% of the day.
4.3.11 Must be able to read and understand all work procedures and instructions.

We are seeking motivated and reliable Extrusion Machine Operators to join our growing team. As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring press, saw, stretcher, and production machinery/equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Lay out, set up, and operate metalworking machines such as saws to cut or shape metal stock into parts or products.
- Read and follow specifications and notes outlined in work orders and EPICS.
- Troubleshoot and perform corrective actions or minor repairs to saws and stretchers.
- Conduct daily preventive maintenance checks on saws, including lubrication levels and blade sharpness.
- Use calipers and other measuring tools to check product shapes, dimensions, and specifications.
- Input information into EPICS, including weight and die variances, and verify non-conformance reports related to the saw.
- Communicate issues with press leads, including poor yield, die variance, and weight discrepancies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following 5S housekeeping principles.
- Ensure proper handling, packing, and bundling of materials to maintain quality.
- Operate the stretcher efficiently to ensure material is cleaned off the table continuously.
- Ensure extrusion pieces are straight, twist-free, and meet quality requirements.
- Report any equipment malfunctions to press leads and the maintenance team.
Essential Skills:
- Experience in saw operation, machine operation, and machining.
- Troubleshooting and reading blueprints.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with tape measures, bandsaw operation, and production fabrication.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- High school diploma with some technical mechanical aptitude.
- 1-2 years of experience in an industrial environment.
- Knowledge of machinery and ability to read drawings is an asset.
- Basic computer skills, including MS Windows; other MS software is an asset.
