Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Set-up and operate Horizontal and Vertical CNC Lathes with Fanuc controls according to engineering specifications, instructions, GD&T and operation sheets. Knowledge of manual machines is a plus.
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures and tool holders for a given job.
  • Run similar jobs of short cycle times for extended periods of time where manufacturing processes are stable and do not require frequent change.
  • Read and interpret engineering instructions, travelers, and blueprints and be familiar with geometric tolerances and principles.
  • Operate more than one machine at a time, one to two machines depending on the nature of the job and its complexity, occasionally operating more than two machines depending on operator skill and familiarity with a given job.
  • Must perform routine maintenance on assigned production equipment, i.e., maintain cleanliness of work area and machinery, check machinery fluids and alert maintenance personnel and/or supervisor of malfunctions.

Operate lifting and handling equipment such as hand truck, pallet jack, or overhead hoist to maneuver in-process or finished components to desired location.

Position Requirements

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Knowledgeable of in-process inspection techniques, standards, and requirements. Able to use and interpret precision measuring devices such as micrometers, verniers, and various hand tools, i.e., gauges to verify the accuracy of dimensional characteristics of components.
  • Knowledge of metal characteristics in a production setting is desirable.
  • Knowledge of programming code, canned cycles, threading & boring jaws and makes program edits.
  • Machinists must have good verbal and written communication skills; good math skills and good interpersonal skills. Must work well with colleagues, supervision and management.

Education & Experience Required:

  • 7 - 10 years Vertical or Horizontal CNC Lathe machining experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably aerospace.
  • Fully capable of reading, understanding, and following written and oral work instructions in English.
  • Ability to lift or transfer components or objects of no more than 50 pounds.
  • HS diploma or GED.

  13. Conduct Quality Audit of fuel tanks and inspection process.

+ Familiarity with Fanuc CNC controls.
+ Ability to modify G & M codes in control programs as required.
+ Experience with sending and receiving programs from network location to CNC control.
+ Understanding of work zero offsets and ability to modify as required.
+ Use of spindle and tool offset probe experience desired.
+ Select proper tooling to include milling, drilling, tapping, and boring to perform required operations, adjusting speeds and feeds allowing for both efficient and safe performance.
+ Machine a variety of materials to include metallic and non-metallic.
+ Experience loading and unloading machines with proficient and safe use of hoists, cranes, straps and proximity lift magnets.
+ Deburr and degrease components as required.

+ Replace carbide inserts as required

As a Carbide Grind Operator, you'll be part of our team located in East Longmeadow, MA. You'll get to:

Responsibilities:

  • Operation requires various adjustments to guides, vise and payoff including singular and multiple grinding head units. Set ups are exacting requiring setting and aligning grinding wheels to achieve proper rake angles, chamfer, height, etc. Set and adjust indexing cams, roller drives, guides; change wheels, belts; oil, grease and lube equipment as required. Check and maintain coolant system and fluid levels. Set and adjust speeds and feeds to maximize operating efficiency.
  • Operation requires use of overhead electric hoist to load coils onto and remove coils from equipment. Use hydraulic and hand truck to move materials and products about the department.

As a Carbide Grind Operator, you'll be part of our team located in East Longmeadow, MA. You'll get to:
**Responsibilities:**
+ Operation requires various adjustments to guides, vise and payoff including singular and multiple grinding head units. Set ups are exacting requiring setting and aligning grinding wheels to achieve proper rake angles, chamfer, height, etc. Set and adjust indexing cams, roller drives, guides; change wheels, belts; oil, grease and lube equipment as required. Check and maintain coolant system and fluid levels. Set and adjust speeds and feeds to maximize operating efficiency.
+ Operation requires use of overhead electric hoist to load coils onto and remove coils from equipment. Use hydraulic and hand truck to move materials and products about the department.

JOB TITLE: Laser Machine Operator

SUPERVISED BY: Laser Supervisor/Warehouse Superintendent

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provides the set up, operation and maintenance of Laser cutting machines. Plans for the efficient operation of the laser and works with the Laser Programmer to coordinate the laser production in an efficient manner. Ability to fulfill general Warehouse and Processor duties as assigned or needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Measure stock length with laser device.

· Load and unload material from machine.

· Clean lens, align and change nozzle.

· Operate overhead cranes and forklifts

· Load, edit and delete programs.

· Measure parts with tape, calipers, mics, radius gauges, square and protractor.

· Read prints or digital files to insure part conforms to customer's design.

· Adjust parameters to insure optimal cut quality.

· Properly identify and process paperwork necessary for material handling and production recording in metalware.

· Properly & accurately fill out inspection and daily Laser log.

· General maintenance and cleaning of Laser as assigned.

· Put away all drops daily.

· Maintain a safe and efficient work area.

· Good attendance is an essential function of this job.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED.

3D Machine Operator's Experience Preferred.

Laser Experience Preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Computer literate.

Laser cutting experience.

Ability to read blueprints.
