We are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to work on a team of
associates, headed by a Maintenance Supervisor, to troubleshoot, repair,
maintain, and recondition machinery, mechanical, and/or electrical equipment.
The Maintenance team also conducts maintenance and repair activities for the
facility, including but not limited to building, grounds, lighting, plumbing, HVAC,
etc. Our Casa Grande location specializes in the production of high-quality
plumbing products and fixtures, ensuring top-notch standards and innovation
in every piece.
**Crafting Excellence: Your Responsibilities**
- Perform general maintenance and work on all machines and equipment.
- Provide electrical/electronic and mechanical diagnostics.
- Perform repairs to process machinery, equipment, and controls within
assigned work area.
- Perform all required preventative and predictive maintenance procedures
on process machinery and equipment within assigned work areas.
- Proficiently utilize a wide variety of tools and instrumentation including, but
not limited to, voltage tester, ammeter, megger, oscilloscope, hand tools,
power tools, personal computers, vibration analyzers, and laser
measurement equipment.
- Assist in resolving maintenance-related process problems which may
require the proficient operation of that equipment.
- Maintain technical competence in advancing technology via frequent
training courses, on-the-job training, and vendor programs.
WORKING CONDITIONS - Heavy industrial environment, including, but
not limited to exposure to heat, cold, dust, dirt, coolants, oils, noise,
heights, and confined spaces.
**Job Duties**
- Perform general maintenance and work on all machines and equipment.
- Perform mechanical repairs to all machines and equipment, e.g.,
alignment of machine spindles, slides, and ways.
- Replace bearings, shafts, gears, etc.
- Conduct repairs on a variety of hydraulic and pneumatic valves and
controls, pressure regulators, pumps, tools, etc.
- Assist in solving machine problems in production equipment, which may
include the proficient operation of machines, incidental to troubleshooting
those machines.
- Adjust, align, patch, or replace drives, conveyors, etc.
- Inspect and repair all hoists, cables, hooks, shafts, packing and valves on
air hoist, and sheaves on electric hoist.
- Perform all required preventative and predictive maintenance procedures
on machinery and equipment within assigned work areas.
- Proficiently utilize a wide variety of tools and instrumentation including but
not limited to, hand tools, power tools, personal computers, vibration
analyzers and laser measurement equipment.

**Basic Qualifications**
- High school diploma or GED is required. Previous experience (3 years)
with the installation, frequency, drive, and troubleshooting of mechanical
systems.
- A strong work ethic that includes the ability to work 8,10, or 12-hour shifts

- Physical ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or

Your Experience Includes

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • OSHA 10 is required (new hires will have up to 90 days to complete OSHA 10 certification if not already certified). 

  • Proven experience in residential repairs and maintenance, other building maintenance or related experience.

  • Understanding of residential construction and mechanical systems and ability to perform general repairs in some of the following: plumbing, electrical, carpentry, sheetrock, exterior structural, HVAC (minor) and appliances. Some training will be provided.

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills as well as strong verbal and written communication skills; multi-lingual a plus

  • Comfortability using mobile devices (i.e. iPad and/or iPhone) and various mobile applications

  • Must possess a current driver's license, automobile insurance, and any other licenses and/or certification as required by state law

  • The following certifications are preferred but not required:

    • EPA Certification, Type I and II

    • HVAC Certification

    • CPO certification (pool)

  • Ability to be at work on a regular and consistent basis including weekends and holidays as needed

Role Purpose:

As a Industrial Maintenance Technician, you will perform highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain highly automated and advanced production machinery and equipment according to predictive maintenance schedules. This will be to ensure the smooth operation of equipment, minimize downtime, and meet efficiency goals.

Accountabilities & Impact:

Safety / Food Safety:

  • Adhere to all Plant and Safety policies and procedures, including wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as well as adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Ensure equipment meets safety standards and regulations.
Technical Expertise:
  • Ability to effectively troubleshoot equipment to minimize unplanned equipment downtime.
  • Plan and execute predictive/preventative maintenance efforts to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Demonstrate effective root-cause problem solving to identify and perform equipment repairs and improvements.
  • Participate in special projects on equipment upgrades or installations.
  • Utilize skills in fabrication capabilities such as cutting and welding (mig, tig or stick), and work with electrical systems including 480VAC & 24VDC power.
  • Read and interpret schematics for process and instrumentation diagrams, and repair variable frequency drives, servo motors and controllers, communication systems (…), PLC input/output cards, and safety modules.
Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and any additional observations.
  • Ensure PM’s/ work order paperwork is completed before departure from plant.
  • Follow-up with any team members when passing along ongoing work to the next shift.
  • Assist the lead with developing/updating SOP’s.
Team Collaboration:
  • Work closely with production and other departments to coordinate maintenance activities without disrupting the manufacturing process. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
Inventory Management:
  • Finding parts in the CMMS system.
  • Ensure parts used from inventory are reported and documented in accordance with inventory control program guidelines.
  • Optimize the use of resources, including tools and equipment.
Communication:
  • Ensure smooth shift changes by communicating important information to incoming shifts, including updates on work in progress, equipment conditions, and any outstanding issues or concerns.
  • Escalate concerns to supervisor as it relates to safety, quality, performance goals, productivity, continuous improvement, and teamwork/harmony.
Training and Development:
  • Collaborate with your peers and team members to transfer specialist technical knowledge.
  • Provide training to production staff on basic equipment operation and routine maintenance tasks.
Process Improvement:
  • Work directly with leadership to develop and execute projects involving continuous improvement, equipment and/or facility upgrades, and the permanent corrective measures of reoccurring problems.
  • Perform other various job duties as required.
Skills & Experiences Needed:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree, certification or higher within in a technical field preferred
  • 1 – 3 of industrial maintenance experience in high-speed manufacturing. Experience in one of the following fields: beverage or packaging (preferred).
  • Safe use of various hand and power tools, welders, lifts, multi-meters, industrial shop equipment
  • Read and interpret schematics for process and instrumentation diagrams, and repair variable frequency drives, servo motors and controllers, communication systems, PLC input/output cards, and safety modules.
  • Forklift experience a plus (certification not required).
  • Proficient in computer and software skills such as MS office, excel, word, and email and Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) system.
Working conditions:
  • This position is exposed to occupational hazards, including but not limited to, high noise levels, physical obstacles, exposure to chemicals, etc.
  • Subject to extreme heat/cold temperatures
  • Must have sufficient endurance to perform tasks over long periods of time.
  • Fast-paced and constantly changing work environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand/move 8-12 hours per day.
  • Ability to ascend/descend stairs/ladders throughout shift.
  • Fine motor skills and dexterity for manipulation
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including (but not limited to) bump cap, safety steel toe shoes, safety glasses, dust masks or PAPRs.
  • Must adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
