Job Overview: This position includes both mechanical and electrical aspects of troubleshooting and repair work. Performs skilled maintenance, repair, adjustment and minor construction work in the facility. On a needed basis, the position will also support all production machines and auxiliary equipment including breakdown repairs, preventative maintenance, and machine cleanings.
Job Dimensions:

- Hourly non-exempt, no direct reports.

- Performs preventative maintenance on building systems, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and control systems and related components; tests system competency and component devices and evaluates performance.
- Assists Maintenance Supervisor in planning and scheduling preventative maintenance work and recommends approaches to preventative maintenance programs.
- Repairs and maintains a variety of facilities systems, components and structures; repairs building plumbing, low-voltage, and line voltage electric systems, door hardware, fire and life safety protection equipment/systems, sprinkler systems, sensors and related hardware and software; constructs and maintains indoor/outdoor facilities, fans, lights and related; conducts structural inspections for safety.
- Research replacement parts, ordering of parts, equipment, material and supplies as required.
- Maintains induction and air handling units; cleans and inspects all equipment, completes filter changes, lubricates, maintains and services mechanical and refrigeration and/or cooling systems.
- Coordinates maintenance of water distribution systems; cleans and inspects equipment.
- Identify, repair, and maintain appliances and heating and cooling equipment.
- Performs service and preventative maintenance on motorized equipment; troubleshoots equipment problems and identifies when appropriate for external service provider to make repairs.
- Identifies repair and maintenance projects requiring the assistance of contractors or vendors; participates in estimates and evaluations of project costs; monitors work of vendors or contractors; assists in the review of new construction or remodel plans to assure compliance with facility maintenance standards.
- Coordinate with Facility Project Manager to resolve facility issues as a needed basis.
- Coordinate with other Facility Maintenance Technicians on resolving day to day issues and to prioritize tasks throughout the workday.
- Accesses and makes all levels of adjustments to computerized control systems, such as for lighting or energy management systems; and troubleshoots control system problems.
- Trains less-skilled staff in facilities maintenance trades; assists Maintenance Supervisor to determine training needs for work group.
- Develop work plans with peer technicians for emergency repair of critical assets.
- Effective use of computerized maintenance management system and service request systems; tracks and closes assigned work orders; may monitor work orders assigned to others and assist them in managing work orders.
- Utilize devices and management system to create and close Work Orders with appropriate data (labor hours, downtime, problem/cause/remedy, and parts used)
- Responds to facility emergencies and closures including adverse weather to ensure that all facilities are protected and remain operational.
- Assists with tasks required in preparing to open facility after a closure including snow and ice removal, systems and equipment checks and start-up operations as assigned.
- Follow appropriate safety procedures and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while maintaining equipment (Lock Out/Tag Out, Arc Flash, etc.), and ensure a safe work environment by eliminating potential equipment safety hazards. Trains less-skilled staff on safety procedures related to facility maintenance. Assists in structural safety inspections.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships across all levels of the organization.

Knowledge & Experience:
- Building maintenance and construction trades, i.e. plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, tile, etc.
- HVAC repair and inspection.
- PC competency and ability to use mobile apps on handheld devices
- Familiar with wiring diagrams, symbols and electrical measuring
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
- High school diploma or GED, Associates Degree and/or industrial certification preferred
- Solid verbal and written communication skills

Job is performed near moving mechanical parts and occasionally in high, precarious places. This position requires the use of eye protection, hair net, and hearing protection in designated areas. When handling a sharp object or tool a cut glove must be worn per safety requirements. Other required PPE is task specific. GMP procedures are observed in all areas of the plant.

Qualifications/Requirements
Knowledge & Experience:
- Building maintenance and construction trades, i.e. plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, tile, etc.
- HVAC repair and inspection.
- PC competency and ability to use mobile apps on handheld devices
- Familiar with wiring diagrams, symbols and electrical measuring
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
Education & Certifications:
- High school diploma or GED, Associates Degree and/or industrial certification preferred

Work Environment
Job is performed near moving mechanical parts and occasionally in high, precarious places. This position requires the use of eye protection, hair net, and hearing protection in designated areas. When handling a sharp object or tool a cut glove must be worn per safety requirements. Other required PPE is task specific. GMP procedures are observed in all areas of the plant.

Position Summary:
The Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all building systems and equipment within the facility. This role involves performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and minor construction tasks to maintain the facility's infrastructure in optimal condition. Education, Experience & Essential Duties:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in facility maintenance, electrical, HVAC, or related fields preferred.
- Proven experience (typically 2+ years) in facility maintenance or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, and general building maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Proficient in the use of hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance software.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills to interact with staff, vendors, and management.
